And everyone seemed to miss the bodies laying in the road, where the rain washed away the dark blood, cleaning the earth of the need to drink the foul elixer made in Death. The heavy fall of water wrapped its misty cloak around the corpses, letting them stare blindly into the falling water until someone, anyone, chose to remove them from their graceless positions in the mud and hard packed ground of the road.
Sachi noticed the entrance of the soaked tempermental girl, the exit of Fuyaa, the entrance of the Inn Populace.
She continued to pretend to sleep.

As soon as the hat was up in the air, a young man's voice came from its depths. "Ok Kazar, sixes say that when some one finds us, I get the seat closer to the fire..." The click of dice being rolled could be heard as well as a curseword or two. "You win again, Kazar... What should we bet on now?" A deep growl sounded through the hat. "Ok, I'll get back to work on that prophecy..."

Rika looked up when she heard voices. She must be going crazy from the wet. "Stupid rain." Rika cursed under her breath as she opened the door to the tavern and walked back in.
Once inside En immediatly went to the fire, laying down before it. But before doing so he shook off, sending water droplets everywhere. Rika instinctivly put a hand to her face, protecting her though it didn't matter. She was dripping wet anyhow.
"I'll be down later." She mumbled to the tavern keeper before going up the stairs and to the bathrooms to shower and dry off.

((Enter the *drumroll* NPC!!!!!!))
"OI!" A kid ran up to the hat and crouched, staring. "I's a WIZARD HAT!" He shouted, grabbing it and jumping up.
"Hey! Lemme see!" A short girl a few years younger ran over as well, holding her hat on her head.
"Uh-uh! Mine!" He held it out of reach.
"No fair! Momma says you're to share!"
"Finder's keepers!" He scampered to the prtch and shook the hat over his sister's head. She jumped, trying to catch it.
After a few minutes she ran inside, crying. "MOMMIEEE!!! MICHAEL'S BEING MEAN AND WON' LEMME SEE THE HAT!"
"MICHAEL!" The innkeepers wife bellowed.
"Coming Momma..." He replied, slumping. He draged his feet as he entered, and let the hat drag on the ground. He dropped it by the door so Mina couldn't take it without looking like a sneaky brat.
((And I'd better not be offended by that! *points at DeVars' comment*))

The hat twitched beside the door. The young man's voice came from it again. "Hey. Kazar! Do you feel that? Warmth! And dry! Yeeeeeeeeeah!" In the midst of his long victory cry of "Yeah!" Waku popped out the hat sending it spiraling upwards into the air. A brilliant gold lion hopped out of the hat as it began to float downwards. The lion immediately strode over to the fireplace and fell asleep in front of it. "Lucky lion, that Kazar." remarked Waku as his hat landed softly atop his head. He walked over to the innkeeper and explained his purpose. The innkeeper nodded and tossed him a key. "Thanks!" Waku replied and as he passed the innkeper's wife and kids, he ruffled the boy and girl's hair and said, "Thank you two as well!" And with a thoughtful look on his face he quickly found a seat near the fire and warmed his bones.

Sachi stared in spite of herself. "That... Has to rank up there with 'pointy-ears' on the list of things I've seen since leaving home." She said, forgetting she was supposed to be asleep. "Although... Are those..." Curiosity won out over sand-bag feeling and she slipped to the floor, crawling cat-like over to peer at the young man who had appeared out of the hat. Odd, violet colored eyes blinked up from under pinkish red bangs and a tanned face. A few bandages were visible, the one on her neck currently most noticeable. She didn't say anything, just peered.
((And I don't getthe reference... sweatdrop ))

Waku's calm eyes peered back at hers. Obviously she had a question of some sort, everybody does. He sort of drawled out, in a very calm fashion, "Anything I can help you with, miss?"
((Gawd! Last time I take a gig illustrating a children's book in two days! I'm going to be upp all night working to meet the deadline tomorrow!))

"I don't know... Are those... cat ears?" She inquired, smiling at him. "And since you popped out of the hat I'm going to assume you wouldn't know if there are still corpses in the street. So other than ears, no. I'm good. And if you don't care to answer, it's okay. I just seem to be seeing a lot of strange ears lately." She continued to peer at him, smiling with extreme good nature. The effort of cheerieness was tiring, but she'd rather be tired than depressed.
