The siblings looked at each other and paused for a second before giving chase. However, Elure pushed Rien backwards. 'Stay with Amadeus,' he whispered and continued to pursue Shi.

Rien thought about arguing, but then realised where that got them last time, so she stopped and turned back. 'Be careful,' she shouted just before she she went into the now empty tavern. Amadeus lay slumped on the sofa, apparently peacefully sleeping, though Rien wasn't completely sure. She leant over him, then pinched his arm hard to see if he'd wake up. When he didn't she leapt over the bar, poured herself a glass of whisky and went back to sit beside the man.

She knelt on the floor, then sat cross legged to get more comfortable. From there she watched his face, which seemed innocent and peaceful- not even his scar was visible, as it was hidden as he slept. A lock of hair fell across his eyes, and she instinctively reached out and tucked it back behind his ear. She bit her lip, scowling at herself for this sign of affection- she presumed it was merely because she was close to Tank before she found out that he killed her sister.
Shaking her head, she downed her drink in one and unsheathed her dagger. Then she sat and watched Amadeus again.

Elure chased after Shi as fast as he could, but as he ran he realised that Shi was going slowly enough for him to be just behind her- she could fly much faster than any runner.

The elf subtly pulled his dagger from its sheath and put it in his left arm protector so that he could reach it easily. As they ran, he thought back to his sister- maybe he should have turned back to guard Amadeus, not Shi because with any luck Shi would not kill her friend, but might kill Elure. And leaving Rien with Amadeus was not such a good idea.

Still, it was too late now.

Shi locked onto her pursuer, and slowed a bit, so she wouldn't lose him, but disguised it as her getting tired from the wound or from her form or what-have-you. Then she darted suddenly to the left toward some seemingly-innocent dunes. Little did the residents of Dark Haven realize that she had been prepping for this day ever since she'd found Theonidas. She spent much of her spare time contructing her little hide-away where she could perform her duties in privacy. But, she hadn't been done when Amadeus came strolling in.. He wasn't supposed do interfere..

Shi then realized she was still being chased, and slowed down again, because as she drifted into her thoughts, her wings pumped faster. Then, she suddenly dove into the "well," the intrance to her make-shift temple, and disappeared into her dungenous shrine, hoping the boy would follow her down in blind pursuit.

Amadeus awoke not too long after everyone had run off. Just for a second, he had no recollection of where he was or what he was doing there. He did know that he was, for the moment, in an unfamiliar place, with no memory. A brief second of panic, and he sat bolt upright, his head whipping around in both directions, taking in his surroundings in a hectic manner. It was never good to be caught in a location where no one knew where you were, and worse, you didn't know either.

His gaze fell upong Rien, who was sitting in the chair across from him looking like she might just have to kill him if he moved another centimeter. The events of the day came back to him and he smiled at her, his catlike grin showing off his carefully filed fangs. He brought his hand up to the puncture site on his arm where Christophe had stuck him with the syringe. The area had already healed, but the drug had not yet fully left his system.

"You my babysitter?"

He noticed her tense up, so he leaned back on the couch, moving away from her as not to provoke her to attack him. He didn't think he wanted to deal with her right at the moment, espically since he didn't know the make-up of the sustance he'd been injected with. Never know the side effects of stuff like that. He was already a bit light headed.

"Lost Theonidas did ya? Couldn't have possibly thought you could take him down, did you?"

"Shut you're mouth, or I'll shut it for you," growled Rien in a very un-feminine way. She didn't know how to react around Amadeus, because she was scared of him, yet hated him and also felt affection for him. Quite frankly, it was bizarre!

Amadeus smiled at her temper and in return, she scowled. In a flash she was beside him with a dagger drawn. "Don't look at me in that way. I'm not like most girls- you can't scare me. And, in case you didn't know, I am a perfect shot with a dagger, so don't even think about leaving or trying anything."

They sat in silence together, Amadeus still wearing a slight grin and Rien still scowling. "So why are you back here? And why are you so evil? Can't you just be nice, like Tank... well like Tank was?"

After her flood of questions, she waited for Amadeus to answer whilst fiddling with the blade in her hands.

A thump was heard, and the door to the tavern opened, Christophe rising from a crouch and entering. He walked straight to the bar and poured himself a drink, tossing some money on the counter. He then turned and surveyed the watchful Rien and the wakened Amadeus.

"Welcome back to the living," he said, coming around and pulling up a chair to chat with the scarred angel. "Did you know he can teleport?"

"Hmm interesting," pondered Rien out loud. She grabbed onto the angel's arm suddenly, holding him around the wrist. "Well he's not escaping easily. If you go somewhere, I'm coming too."

She turned to Christophe. "I guess what we could do with is handcuffs... or rope. Do you know where there is any?"

Amadeus started smiling sinisterly again, obviously about to make a joke or comment so she elbowed him in the chest, knocking the wind out of him a bit.

"Shut up," she scowled, although he didn't say anything.

Amadeus had Rien flipped around, under him with her pressed against the couch in the blink of an eye, his eyes flashing from a cocky sinister to pure evil. He knew that she and Christophe would over take him again soon, and they might even put him back to sleep, but he also knew that they need information from him if they were ever going to figure this stuff out. He leaned in real close to Rien's ear.

"You ask me all these questions, dear. You want to know everything, and then you tell me to shut up. What's a man to do, sweetheart? How confusing you are..."

He pushed away from her and moved around the other side of the couch, out of arm's reach. "Teleportation, eh. Well now, genius, don't you think if I had that ability, I would have done it by now? Yeah, I would have been long gone by now, brother."

His voice escalated to an angry growl. "So next time listen to me when I tell you that Theonidas outranks me in power in more ways than you could EVER imagine."

Rien was pinned before she even had time to breath, winding her substantially. She nodded to Christophe, as soon as Amadeus was up, and they both sprung at the angel, knocking him to the ground.

Rien hit him on his jaw, just for good measure and replied to his comment:

"I am NOT your sweetheart. And don't tell me to listen to you: you are going to listen to me from now on. If I tell you to shut up, you shut up; if I tell you to talk, you talk; if I tell you that you are going to die, do it quietly!" She hit him again, then twisted his arm behind his back so that he was face down.

"Christophe, would you do the honours?" She waited for him to subdue Amadeus or knock him out completely, while pushing the angel against the floor- ever conscious of how close they always seemed to be.

Rien waited for Christophe to subdue Amadeus, but he knew that wouldn't work, and it would only be a temporary fix at best. "No Rien, let him up."

He sighed again, "I knew you didn't have that ability Amadeus. I was asking if you knew Theonidas had it. But nevermind. We do need answers to our questions though."

Walking back to the bar, he poured three glasses, brought them to a table, and righted the chairs that had been knocked over. "Sit down, let's have a chat. All of you." He motioned to the chairs again, and then squatted on the seat of the one he chose, his suit not allowing him to simply sit down.

"You're going to let him just get away with anything and everything?!" scowled Rien, losing her temper slightly. "Did you not see him just pin me beneath him? Not that I couldn't have stopped him if I'd tried," she hastened to add. Amadeus raised his eyebrows sceptically.

Standing up, Rien dragged her stool so that it was next to Christophe's, near the other one, and blocking the doorway- though a couple of metres in front.

She sat, waiting for Amadeus, then a thought struck her: "How would you know about his abilities?" She paused, then it hit her- Christophe was their making or something, from what she'd gathered. 'Hmm', she thought, 'stuck between two people who would quite easily kill me for no reason... although Christophe is least likely to...'
She chose to sit quietly for a minute and not mention anything else fpr the time being.

"Well, for the time being we have to give him some space. We need answers, and while he'll have to pay for what he's done," Christophe narrowed his eyes as he spoke, "we have a bigger fish to fry."

"When I tried to follow Theonidas, I made it as far as the roof of the Aeris building where he'd entered. Nolah was in there, and once they'd met, he did something and they both vanished. Ergoe, he can teleport. Now I don't know where either of them are."

"We need to find them. Both of them. And Shi. We really need to find her. She made Theonidas change, so I'm assuming our next step will be to find her."

Christophe looked at Amadeus. "If you have anything useful to contribute, I'd contribute it. You probably have 5 minutes before Rien kills your hide, so I'd make it quick."

Nolah de Fanel
Vice Captain

PostPosted: Tue Feb 07, 2006 12:33 pm

The first familiar building Nolah encountered was the tavern. I guess my choice is made for me then...She thought, head still swimming slightly as she pushed on the doors. At first they didn't give and it took her a minute to realize that she had only laid her hands against the cool surface and wasn't actually pushing. Groaning, she had to use her body to get the one door open and once she did, the light, after being out in the dark was blinding and sent a splitting pain through her skull. Grimacing, she reached up and grabbed at her skull as though it would do something.

The result left much to be desired, especially when her fingers came into contact with a swollen bump at the back. "Oh ********..." She mumbled and then some words in a tongue known only to herself. Despite her lack of clothing, she felt inherently warm and without looking around, made a bee-line for the sofa in fear that if she didn't lie down or sit soon, she'd vomit up whatever contents were left in her stomach.

Amadeus had taken a seat on the couch again, and he was had opened his mouth to speak, but was abruptly cut off as a figure came through the door, ran across the room, and plopped down next to him. Amadeus closed his mouth and started, momentarily confused. The cat-girl, or at least that's how he was going to categorize her, looked as if she had been through hell and back, and Amadeus was about to comment on how she'd probably run into Theonidas, but then he considered the fact that she was still alive. If Theonidas had taken the time to rough her up, he would have killed her. So, no, this wasn't the Reaper's work. This girl had come from someplace else.

But he didn't really care about that. If the girl was going to be sick, she damn well better do it in the other direction, because Amadeus wasn't a laundry man and this was his only set of clothes for the time being. He looked up at his captors, raising an eyebrow.

"How bouts you get her away from me before she hurls all over my shoes?" His intent was to sound callous, and he succeeded.

"Look guys, I know you're all gung-ho about catching up with Theonidas, but it ain't gonna happen. The man has more power and resources than he knows what to do with. I'd come here knowing that he wasn't at his full potential, and I had been planning on taking him with me as such. I knew he wouldn't cooperate, but I have my ways of persuasion. But no, you guys had to interfere, like you're soldiers going to battle or some s**t, and up and away he goes. You really don't understand what you're up against. Once he gets back with Shi and learns what he's been missing out on all these years, he'll be upstoppable. Hey, this is your guys' fault. So, don't expect me to help you. You ******** -- excuse my language -- it up, so you morons can fix it."

He sat back, folding his arms over his chest.

Chrisophe barely registered that someone had entered the tavern until they collapsed onto the sofa, then he noticed it was Nolah! He leapt up as Amadeus said something about her hurling. He stalked over to her figure and picked her up, surprised and slightly worried to find that she was wearing only a robe.

"Technically," Christophe responded to Amadeus' arguement that the situation was their fault as he laid Nolah on a different couch and plumped a pillow behind her head. "Technically it's your fault. If I recall correctly, you were the one who came to town and started all this ruckus."

He grabbed a glass and some liquor to put near Nolah for when she woke up. "Shi and he have been hanging out for quite a while, and nothing happend until you showed up."

Picking up a wash cloth and some water, he started swabbing the back of Nolah's head where a large bump was, and trying to get the blood off.

"So if you want to blame anyone for ******** up-- and your language is right on, because you did, then blame yourself!" Chrisophe was now slightly enraged. Nolah was injured, and who knows why she had been with McKrea (sp?) and for how long, he had to deal with the child-like insolence of Amadeus, and Theonidas was who knows where. That, and there was the mystery of Shi. He hoped Elure and found her okay and that he wasn't hurt.

Chrisophe turned and glared at Amadeus, then picked up the drink Rien hadn't touched and downed it, moving back behind the bar. "That's the nice thing about being created," he thought wryly, "I can drink as much as I want and still function properly."
