Shi stepped into the tavern, taking in the atmosphere. She had been past the place many times, but just today was compelled to enter. She sat at the bar, and dropped her bag to her feet. She peered up and down the shelves behind the bar as she leaned over the counter itself, supporting her self at her elbows. Her bangs dropped into her face, but she seemed not to notice, as she was nearly blind in her left eye unless it was dark. She then looked around for the bartender, hoping for a drink.

Tank walked out of the back room, wiping his hands on a towel and humming a random tune. He wasn't sure what it was that he was singing, but he knew it, that was for damn sure. Had he been compelled to, he could probably sing out all the words. As it was, he wasn't so certain he wanted to venture that little performance, and he smirked to himself. If only he could remember his past. He had a feeling he'd learned the song from a sweet little girl. One he had once loved very dearly.
He looked up and noticed a woman at the bar. Startled, as the bar was often empty this time of day, he slung the towel over one shoulder, rolled up his sleeves and approached the bar, standing adjacent to the young woman.
"Hello there Miss," he said, tipping the brim of his visored cap. He smiled. "You're out and about early. Is there anything you see that strikes your fancy?"
He pivoted on one foot, moving out of her way like a door on hinges. "I've got just about everything that's legal... plus a few things that aren't so legal in the back, but you didn't hear me say that." He winked at her. I never worried about stings. the ABC stayed away from Dark Haven. What happened in Dark Haven, stayed in Dark Haven.
"You look like an elegant kind of alcohol woman, eh? How about a nice wine?"

Shi smiled and lifted her head off the baras he entered; she had fallen asleep unexpectedly. She brushed the bangs from her face as she looked up at him. Shi sat up straight, her wings fluffing themselves to get a bit more comfortable on her back.
Nodding, she spoke with a grin, "Sure, if you've any Bloodwine. If not, I'll just take some cold Kaluha."
Below the counter you could hear a slight shuffle as she moved her bag under her stool with her foot.

He rubbed the back of his neck, a little embarassed. "Well I've got some bloodwine, in the fridge in the back, but to tell you the truth, it's not the best out there." He smiled a little, his wings shifting restlessly in their folded position behind his back. "I'm not sure how old it is either. Not many people ask for it."
He leaned ont he bar, "Vampires go to the BloodLust if they want the good stuff." He moved back into the almost hidden back room and came back out a moment later, a tall bell-glass of bloodwine in hand. He set it on the counter in front of her and looked it, the dissatisfaction with the product shadowing his eyes.
"I'll tell you what," He ducked behind the bar and came back up with a frosted glass and a bottle of Kaluha. If that's no good, I'll pour this in a heartbeat. Only charge you for one or the other of course." He pointed at her and then at the glass of bloodwine. "But don't say I didn't warn ya. Fame never came from the bloodwine 'round this place."
He took a moment to look this woman over. She was beautiful, and he admired her wings. He didn't say so through. He was never the real outspoken type, and so he only smiled a little dumbly at her, waiting for her to take her first sip of the beverage he'd offered her.
He expected her to spit it back into his face, and he was perpared of it, holding the towel in front of his face.

She smiled as she spoke again, "I know. I work there. Anyways, the older the better for my tastes. And nevermind about quality."
She took the glass in her hand and brought it to her lips, taking a sip. She set the glass down again and pulled a few coins from her pocket, setting them on the counter with a clinking noise.
She smiled at him again, and held out her hand in offerings to shake. "The name's Shi, pleasure to meet you..er..?"

Rien stood in the doorway quietly, watching the two carefully. She was always wary of strangers and prefered to watch them to learn a little about them before meeting them.
The bartender seemed her sort of friend: quiet and thoughtful. She mentally shook her head after saying that though, for she had no "sort of friend" and felt stupid for saying it. Still, she didn't think she'd feel uncomfortable in his presence.
However, she was wary of the vampire-shifter. She'd never encountered anyone like this before, and it appeared she was drinking blood. Rien shivered. Perhaps from the cold, perhaps from the thought of drinking someone else's blood.
For the time being, she thought she'd stay out of sight in the shadows and decide whether or not to enter.

Nolah strode into the bar and smiled in greeting to Tank. He was serving a customer so she quietly sat herself down and waited.

"The folk around here call me Tank." He didn't elaborate on that. Many people in Dark Haven knew the circumstances in which he had been found. He supposed one day he'd go out and try to find his past, but he was too settled here. The only problem, he feared, was that one day his past would come looking for him. And if that happened, he had a feeling it would be a good thing...
He shook his head. "And the pleasure's all mine. Not everyday we get vampirics in here. Most of them steer clear and head into the Black District for the good bloodwine." He looked at the glass he'd served her. "Mine sort of leaves the customer wanting..."
He smiled and then turned his attention to the woman who had just walked in. "Hey there, how's life treating you? Keeping warm? What can I get for you today?" He turned slightly sideways and pulled a remote control out of his pocket, which he used to turn on the various TVs around the place. "You ladies have anything you like to watch 'round this time?"

"Oh er..." Rien was shocked at being adressed, for she was certain she was being unobtrusive. However, Tank appeared friendly enough to talk to. Ignoring the first question, she answered the other two. "Well it's fairly cold out. Maybe I could have a whisky, please?"
She settled herself at a distance from the others, and kept her hair covering her face so that she could continue watching the two of them and get to know them without having to speak to them properly, for that was her typical routine.

She waited while he addressed the two unknown women and smiled. "Nice weather out today eh Tank?" She asked, mussing her hair between her fingers. Her nails if she chose not to cut them could turn into nasty claws. She usually kept them under control. "Shi..." She smiled at the other woman seated at the bar. She hadn't been in town long but she'd met the proprietess of the Inn when she'd aquired her room and she'd been town to the tavern a few times and this time she'd come with the purpose of discovering if Tank knew anything about any upcoming parties or anything where a dancer might be needed.

"Ah yeah. Lovely Dark Haven weather, Nolah." He laughed, and then reached beneath the bar to get shot glass and some Jack Daniels. He poured the shot and slid it down the bar to Rien. "If you want it on the rocks, that can be arranged too, but take a good gulp of that you'll be warmed up for sure."
"So what are you drinking, Nolah?" He put the frosted glass and the Kaluha bottle back in the mini fridge under the counter and leaned on his elbows. "Haven't seen yout about lately. Where have you been hiding?"
He glanced sideways at Rien, who appeared to be trying to to hide in her own shadow. He shrugged. Well, some people 'round here were secretive, and he couldn't say he was much better at expressing his feelings and meeting his new feelings. He set the JD bottle down on the ledge below the counter and glanced at the TV, where a group of cartoon bears were dancing about singing about toilet paper...

Shi nodded to Tank, with a broad grin. "That's an interesting name. I knew a guy named Tonk once, though... I doubt there's any relation. It's been quite some time." She caught herself rambling about unimportant things, and shook her head. "Anyways, it's a pleasure."
Shi then turned to Nolah, and smiled. "Greetings, love. The room treating you well?"
She sent a sideways glance to the woman at the opposite end of the bar, and smiled at her. "Why don't you join us, doll? We won't bite." She stopped herself yet again, realizing she had said another stupid statement. "Er.. Not you, anyways." She laughed her footfall off, and waved her over to the empty seat beside her as she took another sip of the bloodwine.

"I'll take a Zambuka acutally...yeah, I've been looking for work, one of the reasons I came here actually." She turned a quick glance to Shi. "The room is lovely by the way."

Shi smiled and took another sip of bloodwine. "Good to hear. I'm glad you enjoy it. Let me know if there's anything you need for your room, kay, lovey?"
She swiveled around in her chair to watch a silly cartoon from somewhere far to the west, involving a guy with red hair, a woman with one eye and purple hair, a crab, an old man, a chinese girl, and a robot, as well as a Jamaican couple. Shi laughed as the man with red hair told a joke to the robot.
