"I never loved you!? You let those stupid things get between us! Come on Neville. We're leaving." Anna grabbed Neville and drug him out of the common room, waiting until she was well down the corridor before she started to cry.
George finally realized that there were other students in the common room and that they were all watching wide eyed. He sent them a glare of the sort that rarely graced his face. They other students took the hint and cleared the room.
On the way to Gryffindor tower, Marilyn and Adalae passed several Gryffindors who looked rather like mommy had just it daddy at the dinner table.
Marilyn nudged Adalae "What's up with them?"

"I have noooo idea." Adalae shrugged. "I'm gonna take a wild stab and say that your dreams have come true and Fred dumped Anna's lame butt."
Fred stood in silence for a minute then threw himself down on the couch. He didn't care that there were others watching. He was numb.

"Pff, if only." Marilyn knocked on the Gryffindor portrait.
George heard the knocking and started to get pissed that someone would bother them right now, but then he realized who it probably was. He opened the portrait for Marilyn and Adalae.
"Hey, um...well I guess you'd better just come in."
Marilyn saw the state of Fred and practically ran to the couch. "Fred, are you alright, what happened?"

Adalae's first reaction was shock, then she giggled. "I was right wasn't I?!"
Fred tried his best not to groan. As much as he liked Marilyn he really didn't want to be alive at the moment. "Mmmmugh."

"Don't swim? Come on! What, you never learned? It's not hard, we can teach you. Let's go." Spike started moving towards the door.
(Was the mommy hitting daddy comment an intentional quote, or am I crazy?)

Ezra shook his head. "No, I know how to swim. I just don't really... like to." He knew he was getting more awkward by the second.

Marilyn looked helplessly at George.
George ran his hand through his hair nervously. "Um...Anna kind of ended things rather violently. We walked in here to find her kissing someone else and then they exploded at each other."
Marilyn's eyes widened and she pulled Fred into a hug. "Oh God, you poor thing."
(Intentional as all else my friend.)

"Don't? Why not? If you don't produce a good reason for why you don't swim, it must be assumed that you simply don't like are company, and then I would have to not like you, and I usually don't like having people I don't like standing about my dorm room looking awkward. So, reason?" Spike somehow felt a need to speak more as Ezra became more tight lipped. Didn't really help the awkwardness he was clearly feeling, but everyone respnds to stress in their own ways.....
(What is it quoting? I recognize it but don't know why.....)

Ezra started getting a little aggressive. He didn't respond well to Spike's interrogation. "Alright fine! I hate swimming in front of other people!. Do you need more of a reason?" He looked away quickly before any saw his face twitch.

"Well... Okay. We could do something else if you like. Or we could get in first and let you swim behind us instead." A little mad at herself for having made him mad, Spike tried to cracka joke, sort of silently asking forgiveness for having upset him.

Marilyn started stroking Fred's hair. "Oh, hunny, I'm so sorry. This really sucks..." It took a moment for Marilyn to clear the fog of concern and realize who exacctly she was holding. She pushed Fred away, holding him at arms length. "...for her."
