Defense against the dark arts class!

"Mmmm," Sunrise made a noise sounding like a moo. She laid her head on Emily's shoulder and closed her eyes. "Thanks for always being there for me."

Emily laughed and then changed the subject. "You said you liked my mum. Why? She's the one where we make one wrong move, and she smacking us upside the head and we're grounded in an instant. My dad always told us that we could do what ever we wanted as long as we didn't get caught making trouble, we didn't get hurt, and my mum didn't find out."

"She still cares!" Sunrise said, suddenly defensive. "I would give anything to have even a mother, so don't take her for granted."

"Oh I don't Sun." Emily rose her hands up defensively. "I love my mum, but sometimes she just seems a little too over protective. I remember once, I wound up trying to break up a fight, and a teacher walked up. Well the rules are clear when they state that we're not to get involved with a fight at all so I wound up in detention. "My dad mildly scolded me, but my mum was screaming and I was grounded the second she heard about it."

"Just remember that pver protevtive is better than not protective at all," Sunrise said, calming down again.  

[LilyHermioneChapman]

"I know Sun." Emily smiled and wrapped an arm around Sunrise. "There are times that the only thing keeping me from beating her over the head with my broom is the fear of being grounded so I can't hang outside with my siblings, and then there are times I wouldn't leave her side if it meant I would spend the rest of my life in Azkaban."

"That's really nice," Sunrise mumbled, closing her eyes with her head on EMily's shoulder.

"No Sun, I won't ever take my mum for granted. I've already lost my father." Emily let the tears spill silently. "She's a strong woman Sun. Very strong."

"So are you Ems," Sunrise said comfortingly. "I only wish I were half as strong as you."

Emily laughed. "I'm not that strong Sunrise. Trust me, I'm not."

"Whatever you say," Sunrise said with a small grin.

Emily blushed. "Why on earth do you think I'm strong?"  

[KT_Tonguetied]

"Because of eerything you do, you do it with such a strength, and dignity, and you are so amazing," Sunrise said slowly, smiling broadly at Emily.

Emily blushed. "If only you knew my weakness Sun." She laughed slightly but smiled.

"Well you know mine. Just mention a parent and I go emo," Sunrise said with a shrug.
