Mafa was infact only partially listening to the conversation Tuk and the brown hyena were having. Her aqua gaze was focused outward on the vast expanse of the 'yard. She shook her head quickly, a bit of anger still bubbling in her for the rudeness. But she wouldn't express it, they needed every hyena they could get. Mafa bit her tounge and pushed away from the side of the skull and made a circle, pacing back into the skull. Her gaze was firm on the younger hyena as she huffed,
"I'm Mafa, I'm running the show around here. I see you know Tukutu, he's a close second"
She paced lightly to the center of the skull and sat down, keeping an eye on the two. And so the population had grown once more, from two to three. And things hadn't been official for more than about an hour. Things were looking up... A little. Once again Mafa's trying gaze was on Kivu more so than Tuk, tone dry as ever,
"So, where're you from. What's your past?"
She obviously wasted no time with small talk.

Tukutu really didn't say much, since most of the tension was between the two females. Whatever, good that he wasn't in the direct gaze of Mafa. She seemed to get a little frightening sometimes. Though he'd never actually seen her do anything.....so what was there to fear? Silly boy never could think things right. Tuk blinked a bit, trying to act as invisible as he could from the two of them, since he wasn't even directed in the conversation....sorta. But....his skin did kinda itch...

Kivumbi figured she'd stick around for a little longer considering she really had no where else to go. She shot a glance at Tukutu, it was quite obvious she favored him.
"Well do you mind if I stay? Ill try not to be a burden. Too be honest I don't really know where I'm from, Im pretty much a nomad. Im constantly on the move and I've never really had a place to call my own."

"Well in that case you're staying, as long as you're not a lion lover, I'll have you"
It seemed more like a command than anything else. The way Mafa figured it, the only way to have a hyena stay was to force it upon them. Even if they had already agreed to staying. The adolescent nodded firmly,
  "Welcome to the pack"
Her tone held no sense of congradulation or acceptance, it was choc full of nothing-ness. Bland and dry as usual. She blinked for a second, eyes narrowing as she caught the glance from Kivumbi to Tukutu. So they were close? Hmph, not that she cared, the brown one could have him all to herself if need be.

Padding silently through the old sun-bleached bones, A silver and white wolf stocked. Lowering his nose to the ground he waffed in the air, hoping to pick up the sent of food, even if it was a faint smell. His stomach grumbled in protest, causing his ears to lay back in annoyence. Pausing ontop of a large elephant skull, his lavender orbs gazed around his surroundings.

She was here to stay, even though there was some tension this was her "family" now and she knew they had to stick together. Kivu suddenly heard a noise coming from outside of the skull. Looking around she saw nothing... "Mafa..Tuk..I hear something outside should we go check it out?" she said peering around.

Mafa nodded solemnly, she had heard it as well. Though she was far too comfortable to stand up and go investigate herself. Plus, she didn't want to endanger herself of course. With a huff she looked to the mouth of the skull and gestured to it with her snout, looking back to Kivu shortly after with her eyes of steel,
"You can be the scout, your job to check it out"
Mafa narrowed her eyes cleverly and nodded a final time to confirm her decision.

Stopping in his tracks, Agenti lifted his head. Had he heard voices just then? or was it his imagination? His ears pointed forward before swiveling around to see if the sounds continued. Lifting his muzzle to the air, he waffed at an on-coming breeze to see if any sents were carried on it.

Tukut just grumbled and curled a bit more on the rough ground, strangly comforting. He was tired, tired for some odd reason, and was hungry. He didn't want to say so, no way. That seemes quite childish, and he wasn't a child anymore. Contemplating on if he should search out for some kind of food, he continued to lay in the dirt, his tail flopping around on the ground as he thought. Food, given a new job and perhaps lower rank. Starve....and stay at a higher rank....hmmm.....

Mafa's head canted up, mouth parting slightly at first and then coming wide open in a massive yawn. She wasn't tired persay, more like bored. Then again, this was all she ever did. But, since there was more than one hyena here, Mafa had expected things to liven up. Seemingly they had not. This young hyena was also hungry herself. She hadn't eaten in about five days. She could go for another two or three days if need be but she liked to keep her strength up. Her cold eyes scanned the two hyenas around her, examining them critically. They were weak. Didn't look like good hunters. Aqua eyes glared into space as she pondered this. They needed to eat. She could sense the tension in the air, everyone was hungry. Suddenly, she spoke up, a tiny sense of urgency in her voice,
"We need to hunt. This place can support me alone, but not three of us. Not enough food. We need to go outside the borders. Take it from the lions"
Mafa's closed her eyes slowly in thought. Those goddamn lions didn't deserve the feasts that they got daily. She would be that a lion would complain after two days without food. Scum. With an angry growl Mafa stood quickly, swinging her head violently and turning to Kivumbi. Good for nothing brat. Did she have to do everything herself? With a snarl Mafa huffed past Tukutu and Kivu and sped outside, lifting her head up and shouting,
"Who is it? What business do you have here?"

--This RP takes place a while after the one above--
The dull grey female know as Mafa huffed as she stepped rather gallantly out of the large elephant skull that was her 'den' of sorts. She stood, letting the soft and rare breeze ruffle her dusty fur. Her head was held as high as it could, aqua eyes scanning the drab lands to some extent. The coming of the night had brought her out of her hiding, perhaps she'd go see if she could hunt some thing down. She'd never had any luck with hunting, not that she ever tried. She knew how to hunt, there just wasn't anything around. Not a scrap of meat.
She seemed to be alone for the moment, who knew where the others were. The others. It was a strange new concept. Her new pack of seven other hyenas. Mafa never would've imagined that the hyena would once again reign over the graveyard, but they did. She did. She grinned grimly to herself and trotted farther out of the skull, eyes now looking down at the bones that surrounded the place, perhaps something tasty was hiding amongst them.

Tukutu was fast asleep in on eof the neighboring Elephant skulls, dreaming away like a little pup. His back legs twitched against the skull, making a soft scratching noise, one similar to a mouse scurrying about. He looked rather silly, his limbs going this way and that, his tail all in a ruffle, and just definately not what he looked like when he was awake; uptight and rude. His coat was turning into a dusty brown colour from rolling around in the dirt so much in his sleep.

Mafa halted all motion suddenly, raggedly ears perked in interest. So a damn little rodent was about, probably trying to find food as she was. Beautiful. The female licked her chops and moved forward, well trained paws making no sound as they hit the ground. She kept herself close to the ground so she could react faster if the mouse was to see her and wish to run. All of this seemed like a rather complicated process to hunt down a little mouse, but it was all there was to eat, she wasn't going to risk losing it.
From the sound of it, the little rat was inside of a skull, trying to hide from her. Ha, she was too smart for that. With a face of full concentration, Mafa crept toward the mouth of the skull and waited for a few seconds, it'd be trapped in there. Her muscles coiled up and she sprang into the opening only to land on an unsuspecting Tukutu.

Tukutu twitched a bit more in his sleep, rolling over to his side instead of his back just before doom landed on him... ....literally. When Mafa's weight hit Tukutu, the 'yena promptly swirled and nibbed at her neck, not knowing what the hell landed on him, but whatever it was was going to die. Even if it was just a piece of skull. When ne nipped down though, he didn't hit something hard. He hit...fur. He suddently woke up in a whole different manner, and wrangled his head away enough to see...Mafa?! He sure wasn't expecting that! What the hell was she doing on top of him?

Mafa was in a surprise of her own. The tasty meal she had been hunting turned out to be nothing but that rat Tukutu and he had bitten her! Whether it had been her fault or not didn't even pass through her brain. Instead she rolled off of him and hit the ground, bracing herself and baring her yellow fangs at the other. She was panting, an obvious fury in her usually dead aqua eyes,
"THE NERVE! Watch what you bite, it might just bite back"
The female lowered her head agressively and growled. She wasn't planning on biting him back, it had been a misunderstanding and she knew that, but she was just aserting her dominance in the situation. It made her feel a little more secure.
