Kaleb peered at the bag with an almost worried expression. "I-I don't know. But it was kind of startling." He pulled out an octopus and soothed himself by chewing on the safely un-sour gummy. "It was a hard candy, I think." He offered after a minute.

He poked around in the bag, pulling out hard candies, until he found one. "Ooo.... it's good." Even he scrunched his nose at it but of course he liked the taste.

Kaleb made a mental note not to eat any of that particular type of candy. There were some good hard candies in that bag, but he would definitely have to avoid the sour ones. "It's sour." He commented in reply, even though they both knew the candy was sour and there was no logical reason to state it again.

"I like sour ... so you can eat the other ones and i can have thoes." He grinned "It's fair that way ... plus you dont like then anyway and if i didnt eat them they'd go to waste"

Kaleb thought that was a wonderful idea, and he nodded eagerly. "I promise I won't touch them," he said with a sheepish smile. Although he knew there were still several types of candy in that bag that he hadn't tried yet, he was a little hesitant to select anything new in case it also turned out to be frighteningly sour.

"I didnt think i'd grabed anything sour .. cept the gooey stuff ... so everything else should be safe." He licked at one of the sour candies happily.

Kaleb still looked a little hesitant, but he trusted Vivace and went back to sampling at random from the bag. For the small mage, sometimes his unwavering trust in those he was comfortable around seemed at odds with his anxious personality, but it wasn't something he thought about much. He went back to the puzzle, quickly finding and adding the next piece. "I- I've enjoyed everything I've tried, except the sour candy. Did you just pick the good stuff, or is all candy like this?"

"Depends .. I mean i think the sour stuff is really good but you dont. I just kinda grabed stuff overall that i like or though you'd like." He poked at the part of the puzzle he was working on tring to fit more things together.

Kaleb blushed a bit, it seemed almost as though Vivace gave more thought to what would make him happy than he did. He glanced down at the half-finished puzzle in his hand, and smiled sheepishly. "Thanks for sharing with me," he said quietly.

"N-no, I should thank you, not a lot of people have the patience to take me places." He chewed on his lower lip a bit. "I-I get nervous too easily, and people start to think it would be better to leave me where I'm comfortable."

"You didnt seem all that nervous to me." He scrunched his nose. "I mean you were helping me pick out candy and you laughed as hard as i did with the hats and poor dead polly."

Kaleb couldn't help but giggle a bit at the reminder. "I was nervous, at first, but I felt better because you were there." He blushed a bit at that statement, but it was true. Vivace had let him stay close if he felt edgy, was kind to him without treating him like a scared child, and didn't seem to have any unreasonable expectations. It was simply comfortable reassurance.

He grinned. "Now i can go back home and tell Nonet I'm useful for something!" He picked up another gummy creature and bit it in half. "You had fun right? So you couldn't have been nervous for that long."
