"I'm trying not to." She muttered. "It's not working very well. I keep feeling like I'm missing something. And that I'm kind of cold. But that's probably my clothes. I can't say they're appropriate for the weather." Her pants cut off at her calves, and her over shirt had short sleeves; everything was light-weight fabric.

"No... not that.", Fuuya shook his head, chuckling a bit as he shrugs and tilts his head to ask his question rephrased, "I meant - why did you suddenly ask about premonition?"
It may have been that Fuuya just missed her point. He was tightly watching the topic that he might have missed her point pass by the other way.
Meanwhile, Fuuya looked about at her clothes, nodding a bit at the thought of being inappropriate. "Yeah - I think you need to get longer overalls."

"Mmm..." She thought about it for a few minuted, now studying the insides of her eyelashes. Finally she decided on a 'why not' course of action and replied. "I just got the very distinct impression that there's trouble nearby, but it kind of went away. Just like with the other attackers earlier. The ones I left in the street." She made a face. "And I hate overalls. They fit funny."

"Distinct impression? Trouble nearby?", he tilted his head, couldn't grasp what she was trying to express.
He tried to sniff the air though - he would have detected a nasty spin off the moist night air - alcohol. No other.
He also tried to extend his hearing, but of no use. If she was sensing things, then she didn't used those two faculties, much less the sight. Though, his sights this evening were playing with him - occassional blurs and white streaks. Probably just fatigue.
"I didn't sense any, if that would make you feel better.", he nodded, a tinge of assurance, "Just cold tonight. Just cold."

She smiled crookedly. "It does, kind of. But I'm not wrong about trouble. I haven't been in years. I dunno. Maybe whatever it was turned around and left..." Why tell him? Why not? He was an ally, if he were a traitor she might have known, but she didn't think he was. And allies ought to know each other, at least enough to rust what one person said with no evidence. She tilted her head so that it rested on the back of the chair, her eys closed again. If she ignored the smell of drink, and changed the tune of the laughter just a bit, and pushed the sound of rainfall from her mind, she could have been in her Master's school, in the place where the students gathered to relax. They never got drunk, as these men did, and their jokes were kept to a certain degree of decorum, but they were loud. They laughed. They teased, and they joked. It was different, but somehow, kind of the same. She opened her eyes as the angle she was drooping in made the cut on her back ache. Sachi shifted, seeking a better poition as she studied the point eared man. Her fingers itched to apply the brightly colored feather in her hair to his ear again.

"So that means trouble frequent you every so often. . . ", he concluded, half smiling, half teasing. It may have been the first time he had seen a girl on the half-way less of being a lady. Sachi was, on his thought, is an erratic soul that tends to sway off the chords of ladylike. At some point, she does display proper grace and etiquette, though most of the time she behaves like a child got loose from a parent's grip.
That's what you get from running away from guardians.
". . . which your clothes somehow suggests. Light bearings for easy movements - And a journeyman's necessity.", he took a big sigh, surrendering the plight detecting the trouble Sachi told him about.
He'd rather be half-surprised if that trouble shows up, rather than be anxious and agitated at when they'll be coming. He'd seen her fight - she and he alone is enough.

He startled a giggle out of her. She looked at her clothes, tugging the corners of her over shirt. "Trouble and a very tricky Master." She replied. "He was very fond of surprises." She considered for a moment before adding, "Hot country, too." She relaxing, still seeming to fidget though. She didn't like waiting for surprises. At least, unpleasant ones. Good ones she could wait for, but bad ones... If she'd been a cat her fur would have been bristling and her claws half-unsheathed. She looked around, a thought occuring to her. "I didn't finish cleaning my spear..." She murmured, though she didn't want to get up. She was starting to relax, mentally as well as physicaly.

"Cleaning your spear could wait, it isn't to rust of blood and flesh anyways.", he retorted putting a hand to stop her from getting up. "Let it just stand there - a trophy for a job well done."
Is he praising her? Of all the elves at the garrison, a human would get his ernest praises? Luckily none of his squad was here, else they'd be jumping over her and asking those questions on how she'd get his praise.
Maybe he'd known that on the first place. Afterall, what's rank here when you're a complete stranger? Fuuya looked again at Sachi after giving her spear some attention, "My country's a bit on the temperate side. So I got used to light but sleeved outfits. The armor, earlier, was an irritation, to say the least."

Sachi didn't laugh this time, though her eyes showed her amusement. "Master said that the stupidest thing he ever did was put on one of the suits of metal. Of course, he said the smartest thing was taking it off not five minutes later..." She shook her head and obeyed him, not moving an inch. And if she'd known about the squad, she would have been very glad they weren't there. She didn't want to have to deal with a squad of overly-energetic elves.

"Your master was implying the benefits of a speed fighter.", Fuuya took a lean on the wall and closed his eyes there. He remembered the time he was to chose between which discipline he wanted to master, be it the heavy armor or the light.
He chose the heavy one - his reason were if he trained heavy then if he took that off he'd be quicker than his other peers were. And speed was pretty much adapted to his unique arsenal - as what other soldiers would tease, a lady's weapon.
Light and sharp.
"Then again, if you value every blood you have - then you get to wear that silly thing.", he implied on the armor once more. "So - why choose the spear?"
This seemed to have formed his mind as speed fighters generally prefer shorter weaponry to allow quick swings and near-zero mobility impediments.

"Range." She replied. "I was smaller than most of my opponents, so I needed an advantage. Something that would make their size useless. The further away they stay, the better off I am. That, and it's always nice to be able to stop them before they stop you. Besides, it's lighter than what I trained on, and most other pole arms."

"It's lighter?", he couldn't grasp what she means by light. At any point a spear is typically heavier than anything he could've though she'd be using.
"Why not throw daggers? or even crossbows?", or he just missed the big deal - "Cancel that. . ."
She was a melee fighter afterall. He kept silent for a while, wondering why she'd sacrifice the speed advantage for a ranged medium. She could've just evaded attacks while seeking an opening - dancing through a thorough rhythm only in-close fighters could appreciate.

She smiled. "You don't get it, do you?" She inquired mildly amused. "That's part of why I use what I use. I can mfight in closer quarters, and I can fight well. But most of my opponents are going to be bigger and stronger than me. Probably men who spend a lot of time building up their muscle strength. Yes, I'm faster, but if I take a hit and I'm down and out. But if I apply my speed to range, I'm better off. "I trained on a glaive--hard, dense staff, with a lead core and a heavy blade. Compared to that, the spear is feather light. Moves that were quick enough before, are that much faster. Where I had trouble before, I'm perfect now. But people see the spear, and they think long range. They're more careless. They get in my range and go down before they realise their mistake. That same confusion you're in, is to my advantage." She stretched, looking kind of like a cat. "Do you get it now?"

"I see the pursuit of being all-around.", Fuuya realized the fact presented to him. While some overcome the opponent by the thing they have, she manages to overcome hers by improving what she has not.
He sighed a bit. It has been along time before he met another one like her. Another uncontented soul.
"Say - how'd you plan to sleep with this noise all around you? I can't help much tomorrow if I couldn't make a complete sleep tonight."

She grinned. "Earplugs." Was her reply, then she turned thoughtful. "Or maybe I'll slip some hot peppers in their drinks... They seem to have a low heat tolerance..." She considered that for a few moments, then dismissed it as to much effort. If she could have spiked just one, it would have been easier, but she wasn't going to ruin a whole barrel of the innkeepers ale just to make them leave. If it would even work.
