Hunter followed Calypso, spinning around a he looked at all the shops in the area. Shop keepers drew in their costumers with bargains and his eyes were caught by all the shiny trinkets and gems, and one other nice looking thing, a person, "Ou!" Easily distracted by the shiniest trinkets at a stand with what appeared to be a young and pretty woman, also known as Vaughn. He zipped up to the counter and leaned his body halfway across the counter, hand on his chin, elbow on the table, smiling at the young 'maiden', "Hello, sweety. What do you plan on selling me this fine evening?"
PostPosted: Sun Nov 04, 2007 7:24 pm

The brown contacts Vaughn had been wearing back at the fabric shop had been traded in for a pair of green ones and he raised them from the shall he had been examining, testing the fabric by rubbing it in between his fingers. He recognized the akubra and the peculiarly striped tail instantly, however it took him a moment to register what the young man was saying; he hadn't expected him to get this far up the market road before his white-haired companion. No matter. Vaughn had been interested in getting to know this man just as much as the white haired boy he had been accompanying, particularly where his loyalties lay. The House of Earth was still young, at least compared to the other two, and they didn't exactly have weekly meetings for him to get to know everyone's face.

He blinked then giggled and smile when he realized that the man had mistaken him for someone who sold scarves at this stand. "I'm sorry," he said in a well-practiced imitation of a young woman's voice, "but I think you have me confused with someone else. I don't work here."

'I work at the fabric shop back down the street, but there they know me as a guy.' Vaughn hid the sarcastic nature of his thoughts from his expression.

"But since you asked," he said, "I think I can lend you my feminine advice. Here, what do you think of this one?" He picked a shall from one of the hooks and walked out from behind the counter, long, light brown hair fanning out behind him as he moved. "I think red suits you very well," Vaughn smiled as he held the soft fabric up beside the man's face.

((@Sin: It's not crappy, love. Have more confidence in your writing! :3 ))

Calypso had taken his time walking. He wasn't in any particular hurry to do much of anything; he was just wasting time. Things were a bit peaceful currently -- many of the battles had settled down and there had been few even minor skirmishes. It was nice to feel so... laid back for a while -- at peace enough to be able to do nothing in particular. It was a rather easy-going feeling and though Calypso did not look one to be at all agreeable with such activities, in reality he very much cherished the time when he was allowed to simply drift quietly. That did not mean, however, that he enjoyed his unintroduced aquantance's appearance. He was quite unwelcome, as well as incredibly impolite. Still, though, there wasn't much Calypso could do about it unless he wished to be discourteous himself. And so he had decided to put up for it, at least for a while.

He had even begun to grow used to Hunter's presence, finding it incresingly easy to ignore him. And then, in the blink of an eye, he was gone. Calypso blinked slightly, a slightly disconcerted expression entering his features, though he still appeared quite blank. Dark blue-green eyes travelled along the verious shops and stalls until they finally rested upon the other. He was talking... to a woman, and looking quite pleased with himself at that.

Truthfully, Calypso himself was not very much romantically inclined and therefor paid little attention to the woman -- about as much attention as he had paid to Hunter, actually. But the store she was situated at had quite fine wears, and so he stopped there to examine them, though he did not step within range of either of the other two.

The day had grown hot, as well. Under the heat of the baking sun, slender pale fingers had slowly raised to push back his hood, revealing his features much more clearly than before, the darkness of his gaze in stark contrast with the rest of his ivory countenance.

Hunter shook his head, "Actually, green is my color, or more earthy tones." He smiled, "And since you're not working here, maybe we could spend a little time with each other. How about a drink?" Hunter couldn't deny he was a flirt, with both genders, and this woman was easy going enough to flirt back, he liked that.

Hunter over all wasn't very observant, but he did smell something familiar about this girl, but he couldn't place where. His sense of smell was enhanced by his lemur side, and he generally identified people with that instead of his eyes. Calypso smelled like winter, water and blood. This girl smelled like ashes and summer. He liked it.

Hunter still did not know many people from his own house, only having met some members from time to time through the bar mostly, and the occasional drop by at the Earth House head quarters, but it wasn't his usual hang out so he didn't go there often.

"What a coincidence," Vaughn replied, still smiling, "Mine too. Green's my favourite colour." He wasn't sure if this light-hearted conversation about the ideal shall to match this man's eyes was an allusion to what house he belonged ( if any ), but there was nothing that said it couldn't be either; the house of Earth's stone was the emerald after all. Sometimes he thought he was looking too deep into the conversations he had with strangers, even the most mundane chats about the weather seemed to be encoded. Maybe he needed a little break from being a spy?

Shaking himself mentally, Vaughn focused his attention back to the man standing in front of him. Lowering the shall still in his hands, he looked the man up and down. Now that he thought about it, earth tones definitely was his colour, or at least they were the only ones he thought looked good; Vaughn didn't think he had ever seen someone where so much camouflage in a public place before. Well, he supposed it took all kinds to populate a capitol, right?

Forcing a light blush, Vaughn held the red cloth to his chest, which was as fake as the colour of his eyes, and avoided making direct eye-contact with the half-breed. Now, he was just pretending, but for a man all of these were telltale signs that a young women was interested in them, but too shy to say so.

"I don't drink," Vaughn replied, his voice quivering with the perfect amount embarrassed awkwardness. Placing the shall neatly and quickly back on the table, he tucked a few loose strands of hair behind his ear. Vaughn grinned inwardly to himself; it was much easier then one would think to act innocent and vulnerable when you were in a dress. Eyes to the ground and hands lightly clasped in front of him, he began walking away from the man, accidentally knocking his shoulder into someone else on his way.

"Oh," Vaughn said, looking up into a young boy's face with snow white hair and dark blue eyes, "I'm so sorry. Did I hurt you?" The grin he was grinning to himself on the inside grew just a little bit wider.

Calypso wasn't paying any attention to the other two -- nor did he seem to think either of them much of a threat, as he made no move to stop the other from bumping into him. It wasn't that his barriers were down -- it was just that he knew it would cause more trouble to show his true reflexes in such a place rather than just allowing a normal occurence to follow through. After all, he could easily have avoided the woman... but to do so would display a speed that would bring much too much attention to himself. He had allowed himself to deflect Hunter's attempted prank earlier both because the other had displayed his own magic (which made it more than acceptable for Calypso to react in kind) as well Calypso's desire to remain both clean and dry.

"Pardon me," the ivory-haired teen replied, his voice withdrawn, quiet, courteous. He glanced up to the other, dark hues studying the other for a moment with no particular interest before he replied. "No... I am quite fine. And you? You are not hurt?" Calypso's voice, though politely concerned, showed neither interest or emotion, the same as his facial expression.

Hunter watched the bumping of the two beside him and his ears perked. He frowned a bit in slight confusion. Something about this setting seemed a little unnatural. The girl was sweet and all, and the younger man was polite, but it all seemed to be masks, all fake. Hunter saw no point in masks. They were too much trouble for him to keep up.

His eyes traveled down Vaughn's body to his small and tender looking bottom. It was turned to him too, which tempted him. To touch or not to touch... He hadn't had a date for about a year now because of his forward approach to life, but the little butt before him swayed and he could not resist, he reached down and cupped the 'woman's' rump, giving it a good squeeze. He grinned, oh yes, that was a very nice butt Vaughn had.

If Vaughn's ears weren't pressed flat against his head, trapped beneath the wig he was wearing, they would have twitched slightly in annoyance; why did he get the feeling that his presence wouldn't be tolerated for longer then a few minutes? Sometimes he really despised his line of work. Here he was pretending to be a girl, trying to satisfy some sick whim of curiosity about one man that clearly didn't want anything to do with him and another that he suspected wouldn't mind doing much more then having a little chat with him.

Vaughn resisted the urge to roll his eyes.

"No, no," he said, smiling and waving her hands in front of her, "I'm perfectly alright. See?" Vaughn held his one arm up as if he were flexing and patted his bicep, which luckily was hidden beneath the long, faded green sleeve of the dress he was wearing. It would be a bit suspicious if these two were to see such a dainty looking "girl" with so much upper body strength. "Strong as an ox." He laughed sweetly, tilting his head to one side and resting his hand on the back of his head.

He probably should have been paying better attention to his surroundings, Vaughn knew this, but even though this boy didn't seem the least bit interested in him, he was still giving him a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach, as if any second he would be flayed alive where he stood. So, it was only natural that Vaughn didn't know how close the other man had gotten until it was too late.

Vaughn stood frozen, arms still raised and apologetic smile still carved onto his face. There was no question as to what had currently latched themselves on to his bottom, the way his cheek was being squeezed like a ripened piece of fruit was all the answer he needed. Vaughn blushed, his heart pounding loudly in his ears. Why was it suddenly so difficult to take a breath? Three seconds to meltdown.

Three...

Two...

One...

SMACK!

It was a reflex. It was instinct. It was an action beyond thought and reason and damn if it didn't feel wonderful to slam his fist into the man's face. He hit hard and fast as his anger, embarrassment, indignation - whatever you wanted to call it flared in his chest like a lit match to lamp oil. Now, maybe Vaughn was asking for it, he was dressed up as a girl after all, but it wasn't like this was the first time he had done this either. Girls were just more inconspicuous then men he had noticed. But never had any guy been daring enough to grab his a** like that, or even touch it for that matter. He hadn't even been given enough time to think up some fake name for the guy and he was already testing out the merchandise!

"Don't you... How dare..." Vaughn stammered indignantly. Although his voice was still feminine he was struggling to remain in character. The action of punching them man had forced him to turn around to face him, fist still raised, and he glared angrily at him. It was a miracle that he managed to restrain his temper enough to keep himself from setting some of the market stands on fire.

Hunter stumbled back from the punch, grasping the shop counter to keep from falling over, hand on his jaw. Okay, that went a little differently than usual, usually he just got a slap (a very hard slap mind you) to the face. If he hadn't expected something coming at his face and leaned back as Vaughn twitched to swing, he could have gotten a lot more damage to his face.

"Ow, that one hurt," he said, rubbing the spot a hard fist had connected with his jaw, "Okay, so it was a little surprise, but can you blame me? It was just standing there, calling to me." He wagged his finger at the furious woman, "I bet you don't give it enough attention, that's why it was calling to me, begging for me to pay it mind." He gave a small wink and charming smile, ignoring the stinging jaw, "Its a very firm and luscious bottom if I might add." He was prepared more for thew woman to swing at him again, especially for all the things he just said. If she swung again, he could easily dodge now.

Calypso nodded slowly as the other insisted on "her" well being. She certainly did seem fine and it wasn't as if such a minor collision was due to cause much damage. He had almost turned away from the woman when, from the corner of his eye, he caught sight of a sudden motion -- one which proved to utterly innefective to Calypso's well being but which was no minor annoyance to the woman's peace of mind. How incredibly callous. Not only was this lemer man fond of horridly idiotic and tasteless practical jokes, he also seemed less than against sexual harrassment. A true charmer as far as Calypso was concerned. He really could not stand such people.

The ivory-haired youth watched the woman's reaction in silence, his dark eyes following the motion with ease. It was a strong hit -- a bit too strong for a woman, but he had seen stronger; women of the House of Dragon were often built strongly, after all, or at least those with the proper Blood were.

And yet the smack was very nearly unneccessary. Calypso's attention had already fixed upon the minescule fractions of water that held themselves on any human's skin -- in particular that which rested on Hunter's hands. Within moments, that moisture, combined with condensation he forced from the air, had formed large blocks of ice around the man's hands, rendering them quite useless.

"Until you learn to behave yourself...." Cal said, his voice quiet as ever and yet now incredibly cold. "... you won't be able to do much of anything. So please rethink your actions, won't you?" He turned slowly to the "woman," one pale hand reaching out to touch her lightly on the shoulder, a surprisingly sweet smile on his lips. "Please don't forgive his actions, but do try to forget them... I'd hate for any woman to grow used to such treatment, but I do hope you won't dwell upon it...." he said, his voice, as per usual, polite -- and yet it was now much less distant. It seemed that when Calypso grew angry, his urge to protect drew him from his usual shell of emotionlessness. "If there is anything I can do to make up for his poor behavior... please ask."

Hunter gasped as his hands became very cold and shielded in ice. He stumbled forward slightly, his blocked hands too heavy for his balance. He looked up and heard Calypso's righteous speech and he frowned. Oh that little rat did not just do that. He wasn't even bothering the emotionless boy that time, couldn't he have his own fun without some one ruining it?

His eyes narrowed and he stood, regaining his balance. If Calypso thought he could get the better of him, he was mistaken. Hunter flipped back and using the momentum in the flip and some speed from the help of the wind, smashing the ice around his hands and then rolling back onto his feet gracefully, his hands free of the ice.

Then he ruined all images of grace by jumping up and down and holding his hands under his arms.

"Cold! Cold! Cold!" He ran around in a small circle, getting his body temperature up.

Vaughn was quite positively seething. Never had he been so humiliated, so angry that he would risk his cover to get revenge on his enemies by burning them to a cinder. Needless to say, Vaughn wouldn't be disguising himself as a woman for a long time after today.

His breathing was heavy and his face burned, but he didn't allow his gaze to stray from the half-breed before him. That was until the man's hands were encased in a thick cocoon of ice right in front of his eyes. What the..? Vaughn's eyes widened slightly in surprise; out of all the things he had expected to happen next, most of which involved a burning inferno and that shameless pervert chained to a rock in the center of it, ice was one of the last things on his list.

The frigid touch of the boy's voice made the slightest shiver run up his spine. Vaughn turned his head to one side, looking at the white-haired boy who had gently placed a hand on his shoulder. He smiled. Well, now he was getting somewhere; there weren't many people who could use ice oriented spells outside of the House of Dragon. Of course, this wasn't hard evidence, but at least it gave him a starting point, right? Maybe this little investigation wasn't such a waste of time after all.

Closing his eyes, Vaughn lowered his fist slowly to his side and took a deep, calming breath. It was surprisingly easier to calm down when someone else had taken care of the revenge-taking so he didn't have to by losing his temper.

"Thank you," Vaughn said in a soft, genuine voice. He could already feel the fire in his chest begin to burn out and he couldn't say the sudden change in the boy's voice was making matters worse. "But you don't have to do anything you don't want to... Of course, if you don't mind, would you let me treat you to a cup of tea mister...?"

((Edited))

Calypso hardly paid heed to Hunter's new actions, though he did care to forcibly melt the shards of ice before any could do damage to either person or merchandise. The best assassins had to consiencious of their surroundings, not just their targets. He wasn't quite satisfied with just that, however. He knew the other's magic to be that of Wind -- thankfully not Fire for that would make things a little more difficult -- and so he began to cool the temperature of the shop, the water particles in the air slowly condensing and cooling until the hot day of summer was mirroring a temperature more fit for winter. That disparity was in short range, however -- he had to take care not to cause trouble for whoever owned the shop. Still, though, it would make it much harder for Hunter to warm his body. White fog rose from the pale teen's lips, infintessimally small crystals of breath forming from the cold, as his near black eyes glanced for the tiniest of moments towards where Hunter was currently performing his warm-up dance.

Cal glanced up as the woman spoke, a surprisingly genuine smile on his lips for one who had just decided to torture another in the slightest of ways. Though Cal did not harm nor kill without neccessity, Hunter was steadily wearing out his nerves. He was quite often a patient boy, but such acts he simply could not and would not tollerate -- and so, to save himself from a build up of mounting frustration, he retaliated.

"Of course. I would be delighted to," he replied, his dark eyes slightly less empty than they had been before. They weren't quite... soft.... but they had softened, which was something. He really could not stand it when people acted so callously towards others.

Hunter growled, he was tired of the cold, and unlike Calypso, he cared not for the shop. He stopped his danced of warming and twisted around, drawing in warm air from the out side and it swirled around the shop, counteracting Calypso's subtle cold with the heat of summer air. All papers and fabrics rustled as the wind grew stronger, forcing out the cold and much of the moister. Hunter smiled and glanced at Calypso, "Ah, much warmer."

Calypso's eyes snapped onto Hunter, the dark hues narrowed. He was obviously seathing, though he remained his usual quiet self. "My dear sir..." he said slowly, his voice laced with a clear mallice, "it seems you have no consideration whatsoever for those around you. Would you kindly leave so that others of a much less violent nature might enjoy themselves?" This was the last time Calypso would simply ask. If he snapped, there was no telling what he might do for, though he was quite a level-headed boy, once angered he could be incredibly irresponsible. Damage would be widespread and his brother would be mad, he knew -- or perhaps not, as the man had never before minded those rare occasions upon which Calypso snapped. All hint of a smile had left his features void of anything but cold, creeping anger.
