There were once two houses that lived in unity: the House of Phoenix and the House of Dragon. These two forces were bound tightly, holding together the relationship between Sun and Moon, Day and Night. However, when a third group began to form, informally called the House of Earth, a rift steadily grew between the Houses of Day and Night. Each blamed the other’s blood on the creation of this third party, for the House of Earth was mainly comprised of mixes of Day and Night. The deep enmity between the two oldest Houses grows every day. Though neither side has openly declared anything, there are many cases of hidden murders, pillaging and other wrongs. The House of Earth is mainly regarded, by both Sun and Moon, as a House of monsters and is looked upon with contempt. Within each of the three Houses, there are those of more potent blood. These people are considered to be above all others in their House and are, in a sense, treated as royalty. Though there is no real “king” or “kingdom,” leadership of the Houses is usually passed down through the preference of the previous leader. Of the Houses, the Sun and Moon Houses have the most pride in themselves and are quite condescending towards others.

Background Information:

This RP takes place in the fictitious land of Lavania. Lavania itself is small and in a state of general anarchy, with many roaming bands of bandits. Only the Houses have any real “organization” and it is likely that whichever House is proved to be strongest will later take over Lavania. Almost anything, culturally, is acceptable – from feudal Japan, Ancient Rome and Greece, modern day America, Nazi Germany… anything, so long as it is creative and well done. If I find that your portrayal of a certain era makes for uncomfortable and poorly portrayed situations, I will notify you and do my best to help correct this. Also, please note that cultures that do not exist are fine, as this is a fictitious and magical RP. Again, however, please do it well if you intend to pull off a culture.

As for geography, Lavania is an island with many, varied qualities. Though the land itself is expansive, much of it is untamable and so Lavania is “small.” There are mountains and dry forests to the north, marshlands, swamps, and tropical forests in the south and plenty of rivers, lakes, hills and so forth. The sea surrounding Lavania is highly treacherous, as is the area surrounding the island, with many large, jagged rocks. Therefore, there is not much trade with other countries and Lavania is mainly left to its own devices. That is general geography, but you are welcome to add other things. The capitol of Lavania is Lapis City, which is in the direct center of the island. All three Houses preside mainly here, which is likely the cause of their strong relationships to one another. This means that members of different Houses are very likely to meet. The sea surrounding Lavania is the Penna Sea. There are other countries, but none of them are very close to Lavania and not many foreigners enter Lavania, as it is incredibly hard to reach.

General House Information:

The House of Phoenix:
The House of Phoenix is strongly associated with Day and the Sun. Its primary stones are the ruby, amber, and gold. People of this House use mainly Fire and Wind magic, though they are not restricted to these. The current leader of the House of Phoenix in the son of the previous leader, who disappeared not very long ago. The House of Phoenix blames the House of Dragon, but it is yet to be proved. Those in the House of Phoenix bear watered down blood from the Phoenix, god of the Sun. The stronger their blood, the stronger the magic.

The House of Dragon:
The House of Dragon is associated with Night and the Moon. Its primary stones are the sapphire, amethyst, and silver. People of this House use mainly Water and Ice magic, thought they are not restricted to these. The current leader of the House of Dragon has been House leader for a little four years already and has been making many decisions contradictory to previous traditions, many of his decisions being violent. It is partly because of this that the House of Phoenix so strongly suspects the House of Dragon, though the largest reason is the strong enmity between the Houses and the disregard of the House of Earth. It is suspected that the new leader of the House of Dragon is trying to kill off all those of the strongest blood from the other Houses. Those in the House of Dragon bear watered down blood from the Dragon, god of the Moon. The stronger their blood, the stronger the magic.

The House of Earth:
The House of Earth is, of course, associated with the Earth and with the transitory times of Noon and Midnight. It is the weakest in tradition and management of the Houses and is almost completely disregarded by its parent Houses (which causes great anger to those of the House of Earth), but it bears surprisingly strong magic. Its primary stones are the emerald, diamond and pearl. People of this House use a wide variety of magics that cannot be narrowed down very much as there is no general magic associated with this House. However, many members of this House practice magics viewed as too lowly to be practiced by the older Houses. Many members of the House of Earth bear not only blood from one or two of the parent Houses, but also monster blood (such as the blood of a Gorgon or nymph or salamander). Though these creatures are weaker than the gods, the monster blood of those in the House of Earth is less watered down (so much so that many of its members have monsters as one or both parents), making for very strong magic. The previous leader from the House of Earth was murdered by the House of Dragon under its new leader’s orders. The new leader is young and inexperienced, but surprisingly capable.

Rules:
--all guild and Gaia rules apply; if you have not read them yet, then please do so
--no one-liners, please; it makes it very hard for other RPers to find inspiration
--do not make your character all-powerful; that is boring and unfair
--if you choose to RP a House leader, I will put you under extreme scrutiny for both comprehension of the RP as well as RPing skill (meaning don't even think about it unless you understand the setting and are extremely confident in yourself)
--read all the rules and the setting; to signify that you have done so, in the profile application where it says "Magic Words," please write the day you were born (only the day; not the month or the year or the day of the week, but the day part of the date). This is to ensure that there are a variety of answers so that those who have not read the rules will probably create too many repitions of the same day. This is not full proof, but it can at least help narrow it down somewhat.
--just because someone is in a particular House does not me he has to act a certain way; someone from Phoenix can be cold and uninterested while someone from Dragon could be hot-tempered and firy. It really does not matter.
--please give your characters thought and depth.
--if you have any questions pertaining to the RP or if you wish to scheme a plot, please notify me.
--all profile applications are to be sent to me via PM. Do not post a profile in the thread, I will be posting them up on the "accepted profiles" post.

Accepted Profiles:

Gaia Name: Mint Thimble
Character Name: Calypso (Cal)
Sex: male
House: Dragon
Age: seventeen
Height/Weight: Calypso is about 5'7", so a bit shorter than average but not my too much; he has a slender build, but is not without his bit of muscle
Appearance: Calypso has incredibly pale skin with bone-white hair to match. His hair is soft and a little on the long side, but not by much. There are some layers, but not too many, and he has rather long bangs, which for the most part are kept forward rather than being parted to one side or another. His eyes are an extremely dark blue-green that look almost black. When his eyes look away, they appear to be much paler than they actually are. When dressing himself, his clothing style is usually quite simple. However, in ceremonies, he is often dressed in fancy garb with much finery and many jewels.
Calypso is one of the few of the House of Dragon with blood strong enough to "change." Though it saps much of his energy, when Cal draws upon his god blood, the blood of the Dragon, he can "transform" slightly to a state much closer to that of the gods. Though he does not become a full-fledged dragon, some scales (and jewels) do appear upon his skin, he has wings, and several other varying features. (I will draw refferences of this for better claryfication. For now, just bear with me.)
Picture: this is a sketch, I will do a better one later
Personality: Calypso isn't one to talk much. While he isn't cruel in the slightest, he simply does not know how to deal with people. He has a certain quiet kindness to him, but people are often so intimidated by his blood and his reputation that they dare not talk with him normally. He therefore feels highly alienated and tends to lock his true feelings away, thinking that that is better than trying to reach out to people who do no more than bow their heads and look away. Though Calypso is kind in principle, he was brought up in a highly warped way and was raised to be highly capable in assassination, which adds to the fears others feel of him.
Magical Ability: Calypso has extremely potent blood. He belongs to the family that is currently strongest in the House of Dragon. His principal magic is that of the wild, stormy sea, but can also use Ice and Weather magic, as well as some Wind. He has done much research and many experiments into different forms of magic and is therefor unusually capable for his age.
History/Family: Calypso's brother is the current leader of the House of Dragon. His father, the former leader, was murdered. His mother was kidnapped and her mind broken. She is physically alive, but spiritually and mentally dead. Calypso has no siblings besides his older brother, who basically governs his life. It was through his elder brother's and his father's training that Calypso was brought up to believe that assassination and murdering was "normal." It is because of them that he has a warped judgement and sense of self.
Position: uke, though he could possibly be seke
Other: It is highly rumoured that Calypso is the hitman employed by the House of Dragon, though evidence for this has yet to be produced.
Magic Words: 28

-Gaia Name: Usagi Youkai
-Character Name: Hunter
-Sex: Male
-House: Earth
-Age: 21
-Height/Weight: Tall and average weight, more muscle than anything
-Appearance: He’s tall with short, spiky dark brown hair that is usually under a black akubra hat. He has more visible upper body strength but over all he’s lean and slender. He wears tight clothes because he doesn’t need anything getting caught on bushes, tools, or anything that could trip him. His clothes consist of browns and greens, camouflage if he can find it, pants and his shirt is tucked in, showing off some nice abs. He also doesn’t have human ears, but little furry ones under his hat and a lemur tail with dark brown and grey stripes. He always has a bow and a quiver of arrows, he’s a very good archer; its how he survives as an occasional assassin and hunter.
-Picture: Maybe later
-Personality: He’s rather perky and he’s always smiling, out going. If there is a bunch of people bored at a tavern, he’s the one to start the party, or at least try to talk to a few people. He’s flamboyant and may scare some people with his over friendly and playful manner. He’s not very cultured in the traditional way, he lived out in the woods surrounding Lavania forests. He has a type of personality that attract people and he’s quiet amusing to listen to when he’s drunk.
Magical Ability: He specializes in wind magic, it helps guide his arrows and helps him move faster or jump higher. He’s quite athletic already, but his wind powers assist him as well as help them him on their own.
-History/Family: Hunter’s blood is half human and half lemur creature. His mother was seduced by a lemur creature in disguise and was left with a bouncing baby lemur boy, who climbed the walls and hung by his tail by the ceiling. His mother found another man (human) and settled down, having normal human children. Hunter loved his family, but he was bored a lot because they where just humans, so he took up archery to amuse himself. He could shoot a bird out of a tree 30 yards away because of his keen eyes and wind magic. He decided to move out when he was 16 to explore the land of Lavania. He joined up with the House of Earth because he found them to be an interesting group to interact with. He’s lower ranking, but he really doesn’t care about ranking, he has no formality at all when it comes to the hierarchy.
Position: Seke, leaning towards seme, but either way, he’s quite demanding and dominating
-Other: He’s rumored to be the number one rogue and assassin, but they’re only rumors, he seems too cheerful to be an assassin.

Gaia Name: Unerasable_Sin
Character Name: Vaughn
Sex: Male
House: Earth
Age: 19
Height / Weight: Roughly stands at six feet tall, give or take an inch, with a sleek, yet strong build.
Appearance: Tall and light skinned, Vaughn maintains his sleekly muscular build and thin waist without much effort at all. His hair is the colour of spun gold, which hangs low and frames his face handsomely. He knows next to nothing of his parents, but from what his care-givers have told him he believes that he possesses his mother's deep blue eyes, like two glittering sapphires shining out of his face. It was safe to say that the two feline ears poking out on either side of his head and the matching tail were a contribution from his mother as well; his father wasn't a part of the House of Earth and thus couldn't have such a characteristic. Of course, sometimes Vaughn wished he had. It would have made it easier to find him that way.
Picture: Vaughn
Personality: Vaughn is pretty easy-going. The couple who had raised him since he was young child were good, loving people who treated him like their own flesh and blood. He does, however, have a temper, one that he tries but often fails to control. He doesn't fear the strength of the older houses, a mistake that could be his undoing if he isn't careful, and he is very passionate in what he believes in.
Magical Ability: Like any child, Vaughn had a great interest in magic when he was younger; the ability to manipulate water, or make the ground shake was extremely appealing to him. He realized at an early age that he had an affinity for Fire based magic, while in other categories he was completely hopeless. Of course, it's not like he can use this element at their full strength whenever he wanted either. The power of his spells are directly linked to his emotional state. In other words, the more angry or distraught he became, the more powerful and uncontrollable his spell work became. Still, it was something he liked to avoid if at all possible for it left him completely drained for weeks afterward.
History / Family: As the child of what the older houses would call “unclean parentage", Vaughn has been an outcast since birth, but his life hasn't been all that tragic. The House of Earth was comprised of people just like him so he wasn't alone growing up. All he knew of his parents, his real parents, were what his care-givers have told him. His Mother was a remarkable beauty in her day and was said to have been on par with some of Day and Night's finest, pure-blooded members. Now that he was older he could tell that most of the stories about his Mom were exaggerated a little, but when you're a child you want to believe that your parents are invincible. There were no stories about his blood Father except a rumour about his Mother eloping with a young man of another house.
Position: Seke
Other: His feline likeness isn't just for show. His sense of balance and agility are slightly higher and more natural then that of an ordinary human. He has an easier time seeing in the dark as well.

Gaia Name: Mint Thimble
Character Name: Alex
Sex: male
House: Phoenix
Age: eighteen
Height/Weight: 5'7" with a slender build; he could pass for either a short male or a tall female
Appearance: Alex is quite sexually ambiguous. It is nearly impossibly to tell from his looks whether he is a man or a woman. Depending on the way he dresses or acts, he can pull off either perfectly, and he even has a name that could bend either way. He has very pale, milky skin -- skin that is perfect in every way, without blemish or scar. Or, really, there were scars, but he vanished all of them [to be explained]. His hair is a bright red, wavy, and reaches about to his chin. He can give himself bangs if he combs his hair a certain way, but he generally clips his hair up so that it doesn't get in the way of his bright amber eyes. He has a small beauty mark, which he inherited from his mother's side of the family, under his left eye.
Picture: sketch
Personality: Alex is playful and mischevious. He was brought up in a family whose chief duty is disguise and deceit -- namely through seduction. Alex himself has no qualms with one night stands or sleeping with people because of work; it's something he thinks of as 'normal.' While not quite overly flirtacious, he doesn't exactly play hard to get, either. He's an odd boy full of contradictions; he may one moment be cruel and the next kind. He simply acts upon whim and hasn't much care for the effects of his actions.
Magical Ability: Alex has very strong Fire magic. He always, even as a child, enjoyed melting things. He even soon began to experiment on himself -- something his family had tried to make him not do, as appearance was neccessary for their line of work, but something that eventually bennifitted him. Alex now can use his heat and fire things to meld his own appearance to his whims -- using a combination of Fire and Wind to change everything from hair color to height. He has no need of wigs or the like; he can change himself as he sees fit. Appart from this, he can use his Fire and Wind magics in more normal ways. He isn't very offense oriented, though -- he is much stronger at defense.
History/Family: Alex comes from a highly skilled, but not very well-blooded, family in Phoenix. Because they lack strong blood they can never ascend too far in the House, but they are still highly respected and rellied upon. His family trains in the arts of deception, deceit, and seduction. Alex has a mother, father, six brothers, five sisters, quite a few aunts and uncles, a myriad of cousins, three grand-parents and various other relatives, though they do not all live together.
Position: seke
Magic Words: 28

Gaia Name: lycanthropic_tendencies
Character Name: Eleison
Sex: Male
House: Dragon
Age: 16
Height/Weight: 5'6, severly underweight, but not enough to be anorexic...yet.
Appearance: Eleison is a small framed boy, his slender shoulders and often crouched position sometime entail him to be mistaken for a mere child. Mostly, his skin is pale, but his back is thoroughly tanned, where a giant tatoo of of a pale blue, almost silver dragon is etched. His hair is smoothly silver and layered barely reaching his chin, where the tips are blue and black. Despite his blue and silver themed natural body, his eyes are crimson. Casually, he wears a black long sleeved peasant top to his his body with gray breeches and black boots, but dresses in formal robes very nicely.
Picture: Someday, someday
Personality: Despite his small frame, Eleison is easily angered and goes through mood swings as often as girls do. However, he tries--often in vain--not to show it. He really tries to be happy, but understands the importance of duty over friendship and loyalty over pleasure. It always seems like he has a stick up his butt and likes to pay attention to the smallest of details even in the most troubling of times. When people bother him because of his weakness, he tends to react quite harshly. His arrogance and confidence make it that much worse.
Magical Ability: Like many of the Dragons, he has learned both Water and Ice, but prefers the Ice because it "cools the fire of his mind" or something like that. His magic is limited due to a curse that often leaves him blinded and unconscious. However, this curse enables him to unleash great amounts of power at a time, at a very large expense.
History/Family: Eleison was born into a normal Dragon family--his mom, dad, and now eight year old sister are all still living. During the first 12 years of his life, he was normal and healthy (with blue eyes and all). However, he was dueling with his friend during a rainstorm when lightning reacted with his ice magic and a certain mind spell he had been curious to try out. A freak accident left his eyes red, his magic limited, and his friend dead. He tried to run, but everywhere he went, he felt eyes prodding him for his guilt (or so he thought). He still secretly visits his sister sometimes, but he and his parents just don't talk. He hunts and gets plants on his own for food.
Position: He wishes to whatever god is listening that he would be a seme, but he's pure rebel uke.
Other: The Curse--The curse lets him send out waves of magic, but he is forced to go through a certain time in hell, depending on how much magic he uses.

Hunter sat at the tavern table... well, really he was laying on his back ON the tavern table, his head hanging down, his tail swaying back and forth, but that was besides the point. He was unusually bored and it was too early to get his nightly ale. There were only two people there at 2 in the after noon. The bartender, a large and intimidating man, sighed at seeing the half lemur creature there AGAIN.

“Get out, its not your usual haunting hour.”

“But I’m bored.” Hunter protested, “I haven’t had a job in days. I’m allowed to loiter.”

“Not in the day time, now get out.” The bartender pointed towards the door and Hunter sighed, placing his hands on the table beside his head and flipping forward onto his feet gracefully. He picked up his black akubra hat, placing it on his head and shuffling towards the door, tail lowered in dejection. The bartender rolled his eyes, Hunter could play the ‘rejected child’ card very well, but after a couple years, he could ignore it.

Hunter grabbed his quiver and bow on the way out, glancing around the town. He could always practice his archery, but it would just waste arrows. The people were minding their own business and everything was peaceful. Well peaceful was boring, so he wandered off, going to see if he could make some mischief around the town.

Dark eyes the color of a stormy sea roamed the streets at the teen walked silently amidst the people. Most people on the streets were talking -- whether they were chatting happily or getting into angry arguments or just talking for the sake of talking differed from case to case. But they were all making noise, all loudly going about their business. Calypso, however, was an exception to this. He talked to no one and none talked to him -- though his face was hidden, there was rather and air about him that said do not come near. It was an air born of a life of hard training and assasinations -- not something the boy put out on purpose, but something that had been bred into him. He did not really wish to remain alone; he simply did not know how not to be.

Pale fingers flushed back equally ivory hair from behind the shadow of his hood. Another job was finished, another several man dead, and Calypso's stainless record was maintained -- stainless in that he himself had never spilt a drop of blood, though the blood of others had often tarnished the area that had surrounded the fight. It was just another one of those things that Calypso had grown used to.

Brother was not yet home, he knew. He could always instinctively feel when the man was about -- there was something in their blood that reacted strongly when the two were together. And so, with no one to report to -- as nobody but his brother was of consequence, at least as far as Calypso was concerned (after all, if his brother was the number one in the Dragon line, then Calypso was number two) -- he wandered aimlessly, waiting for the moment when his blood would give that pop! of excitement as his brother reentered the general facility.

Hunter eventually found himself on the roof top of a general store, taking aim with a bucket of rain water that had gathered over the night in front of some house. He was looking down at the people below. It was a warm day, so no one would really catch a cold from it, but it would be amusing to see someone curse and shake their fist at him.

He spotted a particularly pale teenager that stuck out from the crowd and he grinned, there was his target. He tipped the bucket over and water fell. Hunter twisted the wind around the water to make it into a smooth stream and it curved over, hitting Calypso, covering him in mucky, stagnant water. He snickered at his mischievous plot, waiting for the pale one’s reaction.
PostPosted: Wed Oct 31, 2007 8:12 pm

Except that the water never hit the pale teen. He hadn't been raised to be the most prolific assasin in existence for nothing, after all. No sooner had the muck of water entered within several feet of the teen than it immidiately froze into a sollid stream of ice. The transformation took only a split second, and Calypso remained utterly unphased. Dark shades resembling black glanced up, the expression in them hard and cold. It had been Wind magic, he knew -- Calypso was an expert for sensing the different magic types. Whoever this annoyance was, the use of Wind magic made it more than likely that he was from the House of Phoenix. Calypso frowned slightly, one slender, pale hand raising to brush back a lock of equally ivory hair away from his dark eyes.

He didn't like such tasteless jokes -- useless things only done out of boredom and for the purpose of annoying others. The sheet of ice had collapsed onto the ground, where he allowed it to melt immidiately back into water, without hitting anyone. Calypso didn't want to have to deal with the vehement exclamations of innocent pedstrians. But this Wind mage, whoever he was, had asked for trouble. Calypso was a patient boy, but he simply could not tollerate such mean, useless jokes. A frown had formed on the boy's lips as his eyes fixed on the other, though his gaze lasted for no longer than a second before he continued on his way. In that small time, though, he had condensed the water in the air around the shingles of the roof, causing pearly beads of condensation to well up on the slates -- bits of water that were soon frozen into a hard, slippery layer of incredibly thin, but incredibly strong, ice. The other was a magic user; he would not die or even be seriously hurt from such a thing, but he would likely be surprised.

Hunter squeaked as he started to skid on the ice and he dug his claws into the roof top. That-that b*****d could use ice powers, and he'd tried to slide him off the roof. He raked his nails into the roof and got to a dry spot, and then he stood and leapt onto another roof top. He didn’t need his wind magic to leap a few feet because of his blood. He followed Calypso along the roof tops. Curiosity got to him, and it a way, Calypso had communicated with him, though their eyes and the ice on the roof. It was like he was playing back. Hunter liked to play. Hunter smiled as he followed the pale boy along the roof tops, this could prove entertaining.
PostPosted: Sat Nov 03, 2007 5:23 pm

Calypso knew he was being followed; it wasn't exactly hard to tell, as the other was making no effort whatsoever to erase his presence, as any worthy assasin should. In that scant moment during which the teen had met the other's eyes, he had quite easily noted the ears and... tail. Deffinately not a member of the Phoenix, and therefor of no concern; whether this man was of the House of Earth or was simply a rampant rogue Calypso could not tell, but one thing was for sure: this was someone he need not bother with. And so, he completely ignored the other's presence, though he was rather sure that the man would soon try some other means with which to annoy the ivory-haired Dragon member.

Hunter knew he wasn't being that stealthy. He could be as imperceptible as a slight summer's breeze, but he chose not to be. He jumped off of the roof, hands catching on a flag pole, flipping around it once before he let himself fall safely, a good 6 feet, to the crowded street, right next to Calypso. He raised a hand, smiling and giving a wave, "Evenin' stranger."
PostPosted: Sun Nov 04, 2007 12:38 pm

Calypso didn't even blink an eye. Really, this man was much too obvious. "Good afternoon," he replied stoicly, his dark eyes roaming the wears of a particular shop set up on the street. Brother might like this... Might. The cloth was quite fine and the craftsmanship obviously good. He reached out a pale hand, the slender fingers grazing lightly against the material. It was quite soft... he wasn't too convinced of its durability, but it was better by far than the majority of what he had seen thus far up for sale in the market.

Hunter looked at the material Calypso ran his fingers over. He folded his arms and tilted his head to the side. He was a couple inches taller than Calypso when he stood next to him, "I don't think red is your color, how about the blue one?"
PostPosted: Sun Nov 04, 2007 5:04 pm

"It's not for me," Calypso replied, his tone devoid of quite anything. Though he did find this man rather more than annoying, he wasn't so impolite as to show it; that would be a horrid display for one who had been raised to be courteos, such as Calypso. Nearly black hues travelled from the aformentioned cloth, his hand slowly returning back to his side, and he moved on. He would return to the shop later... maybe. As it was, he would have to examine the clothing much closer and at a later time... though it was quite fine, he wasn't at all sure that it was so well made as what they had already. In other words, to prevent himself from buying something useless, he would return later to inspect it with a more fine-tuned eye. And so Calypso moved from that stall, walking along, his pace slow, through the market. It was just a way to waste time while he awaited his brother's arrival.

Vaughn sighed heavily. One would assume by the market place being as busy as it was that business would be booming, but he had barely had any customers all day. Profit wise he wasn't concerned; this fabric shop was neither owned by him nor had he chosen it for his future career. Vaughn was just using it as a front for his true calling: espionage.

Just because the older, "nobler" ( as they see themselves, Vaughn thought "pompous" was a much better word to describe both of them ) houses of Phoenix and Dragon worried about Earth as much as the dirt under their feet didn't mean the members of new house were going to follow that same stereotype. Men and women from the house of Earth were stationed all around the capitol, right under the enemies noses, watching for any suspicious activity from the other clans. At least that's what Vaughn thought. As a spy he didn't know anything besides what he was told and what he overheard. The other houses more then likely had their own informants, but if he had met any he didn't know about it.

He'd probably be dead if he had.

It was probably strange for someone who was in such a dangerous field of work, but Vaughn wasn't exactly the first person you would think of going into battle with. He knew how to fight, that wasn't an issue; he carried a dagger and he had always been comfortable with hand to hand combat. No, it was the killing part that didn't sit right with Vaughn, probably because he had yet to kill anyone. Who would have guessed that there was a boy in this fight for supremacy of the houses that hadn't taken a life in all of his nineteen years on this world. He would probably be the laughing stock of Lapis if anyone were to find out.

He might not have made much of an assassin, but Vaughn was still an excellent spy if he did say so himself. He was very good at disguising himself, which was a feat in itself considering his feline characteristics ( not everyone could hide a pair of ears and a tail so well no one knew he had them ). The magic he possessed were easy to hide as well since unless he really concentrated he couldn't use it. Well, anything besides fire spells, but even then he had to focus.

The sound of a young man's voice - the first potential customer he had had in an hour - Vaughn was drawn from his thoughts. Sharp blue eyes hidden behind brown contact lenses looked up from the scrub wooden table he had been sitting at. There were two of them and whether it be the stark white hair and skin of the first, or the tiny ears and striped tail of the second both certainly stood out in a crowd. If either belonged to a house, be it friend of foe, Vaughn couldn't tell, but he was curious to find out especially since they didn't seem to be companions. Or at least voluntarily.

What business could a half-breed, similar to himself, have with this boy? If it weren't for the deadness of his voice and the strength behind his gaze, Vaughn would have thought he looked harmless enough. There was only one way to find out.

Vaughn casually disappeared into the back of the shop, there were two other people working so his absence wouldn't likely be noticed. He hoped not, at least. That was part of his job wasn't it? To blend in and be as inconspicuous as possible?

Once in the safety of the little fabric shop's back room, Vaughn reached into the collar of his shirt and pulled out a small brown leather pouch hanging around his neck. He didn't own much, but this had to be one of his most prized possessions: a pouch small enough to hide under his clothes, but magically endowed with enough room inside to house an entire wardrobe to chose from. Right now he thought becoming a young woman would be best...

Ten minutes, a wig, a dress and a little bit of make-up later and Vaughn was a brand new man - uh, girl... Vaughn didn't really mind dressing up in drag, he could even stand guys hitting on him, but he had to admit it was a little disconcerting how good he looked in a wig and a pair of heels. This was hardly the time to fret about this, however. That white haired boy was coming her - his way.

It seemed he had run through the back allies far enough to put him in front of the intriguing male's path and given himself enough time to blend seamlessly into the crowd. He busied himself by examining a stand with some lovely shalls and silk scarves hanging on hooks while he waited for the "target" to draw closer.

[Sorry it took so long to get this posted and for it's general crappiness]
