I saw this movie only because of Johnny Depp, since it recieved many bad reviews. However, I liked it. Finally a character I could somewhat relate to. Too bad my parents thought there was something wrong with me when I told them that. stare

I don't know why it got so many bad reviews... mind u there were a few sketchy things but... critics are so harsh! overall i loved the movie. though this may sound... weird... i wish johnny depp would play more evil rolls. something about his evil side of acting amuses me.

WARNING: A SPOILER POST. IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE, DO NOT READ THIS POST.
I had read the novella by Steven King a while before this movie came out. Although the movie was slightly different from the novella, it fit together very well. Some differences in the book/movie were:
Movie: He had a dog named Chico Book: He had a cat named Bump *I think. I'll update it if I'm wrong*
Movie: Mort's book was "Secret Window", and Shooter's book was "Everybody Drops the Dime" *it was either Everybody or Everyone. I appologize if I got it wrong* Book: Mort's book was "Everybody Drops the Dime" and Shooters book was "Secret Window"
Movie: In the end, Mort was still alive, while Amy and *I believe his name was Tom. Again, I appologize if I got it wrong* died. Book: Mort was killed, while the other two were alive and found out that he had a split personality
I haven't read the book in a while, and am going to read it again. So I will add more differences between the movie and the book later. 3nodding

His name's Ted.
And isn't Mort's book in the novel called "Sowing Season" rather than "Everybody drops the dime"? I dunno I might be confusing the book and the movie. I haven't seen/read both in a while also.
I have a difference you can add:
In the movie the person who was doing the list of items after the fire with Mort & Amy was a female and her name was Fran Evans.
In the book it's a man named Fred Evans (And he happened to be the one who shot Mort)

I kept thinking Tom or Tim or something like that. Meep. >_< Yea, I need to read the book again.

Sadly I haven't had the time to see this film, but I did read the book before the movie came out. It was originally called "Secret Garden, Secret Window."

Is the book called Secret Window or is it called something else because I can't find it anywhere. stressed *bangs head on table* I saw the trailer for Secret Window on my Kingdom Hospital dvd and it looks good so I'm going to watch it again. Maybe I'll like it this time.

I never read the book. A friend online ruined some part for me mad . My mom said she saw everything coming stare ,but thats my mom. I loved the film, I was rooting for Rainey just cause I can whee . My friend kept telling me he should'nt have killed her,but somehow I'm glad he did. I felt she was annoying and a BSer, her character not the actress. I like how the film automatically started with a whos-who type of thing. ...I'm going to copy+paste this in my journal. But to sum this all up, I really liked the movie whee 3nodding .

Yessms, but If Mort would have died in the movie, an angry hoard of insane fangirls would litterally lunge forth in a movement and destroy the director. And yessms, I have seen this movie, many time! ^^;; I reallt liked it, so I decided to stroll on over to where it was filmed. I even serched the lake for his cabin x.o;;; [Sad, I know] But I sadly, I didn't find it. Though part was filmed in Magog, and part in the U.S. Good movie none the less.
