Ruri got up with them, the cookie covered cloth squashed up in her hand. “It’s a real shame. I was hoping she’d turn out just like me.” She tickled the little girl’s cheek playfully. “The funny thing is, Raleigh adores Hannah but can’t stand you… hm, he must be in denial.”
As soon as she was put on the ground Ai began crawling away towards the Christmas tree, ready to do some damage to the ornaments and presents at it’s base.
Ruri’s eyes brightened considerably, a cheeky smile on her lips. “Mm, that sounds good. But after dinner, okay? I won’t be able to perform properly on an empty stomach.” With a seductive wink she hurried over to scoop up Hannah before she could make too big a mess.
“Hey Raleigh, how’s the food coming along?”
“The ham needs another ten minutes. Make that idiot of yours useful and get him to set the table.”
“Tsk. So grouchy.” Ruri muttered, before calling back. “I’ve already done most of it; now stop being such an a**.” She didn’t get a reply, which she took as a good sign. With Ai on her hip she walked back over to FC. “Heh. Hey, you’re hungry, right? Oh, and we can open more presents later too. I got you something!” Even though she hadn’t been sure when she was going to see him next, Thomas’ present was sitting patiently under the tree wrapped in bright Santa paper.

Thomas smirked and looked deep into Ruri's eyes. "That's just fine..." he told her just as seductively back.
"There IS some truth into that, though. Might as well make myself useful," Thomas shrugged. "Do I need to do anything?" he asked.
When Ruri and Ai came walking back, his eyes seemed to lit up for a moment, before he extended his arms and pulled them both into an embrace. He rested his head on Ruri's shoulder. "Aren't I lucky?" he muttered nearly inaudible before he pulled away again and smiled at the both of them.
His eyes wandered over to the christmas tree and he couldn't help but look surprised, then pleased and then he laughed. "But I'm in Africa, of all places," he laughed, "I wasn't supposed to be here at all," he winked.

Ruri felt the oddest desire just to snuggle up against him and never let go. But he pulled away before she could get a clawed grip on him, so she settled for leaning up for a quick kiss. “Well, I guess some wishes do come true, right?”
Ruri gave a quick shake over her head. “You’re a guest; of course you don’t have to do anything.” She slapped his arm playfully, and was momentarily delighted about how hard and well muscled they were. Oh she had missed him.
“Come on then. Let’s get settled in the dining room.” She linked arm with him and led him into the next room, where a rectangular table had been half-set. “Hm. We might need cutlery.”

Dinner had been marvelous as usual. Ruri had been surprised at how handy Raleigh seemed to be at… well, everything. He’d taken to cooking like a fish to water and as they sat down to a Christmas ham with vegetables and plenty of other things, he looked rather proud of himself. Thankfully Raleigh had relaxed somewhat too, no longer sending glares Thomas’ way every few seconds.
Now they had gathered in the lounge room at Ruri’s demand. She was crouched in front of the tree, sorting through the presents. Raleigh sat on the couch, one foot resting on Yasuo as the creature lounged in front of him, and Hannah sitting giggling on his lap.
"Ah, here it is." She grabbed her prize and handed it to FC with an almost nervous grin. It was a gold watch; which opened up to a picture of her and Ai. Sure it had been exprensive, but it had been worth it... she hoped.

Thomas looked half embarrassed for a moment before he flashed one of those confident grins of his and opened the package. He carefully looked at the watch, turning it around and then clicked it open, to find a picture of Ruri and Ai. He couldn't help but smile at that.
"Thanks Ruri. How did ya know I needed a watch?" he grinned up at her. "It's awesome. Thanks a bunch." Curses! Why couldn't he help but sound so sincereeeeeee!
He picked a package and tossed it to Raleigh, smiling smugly. "You've GOT to like it. If not, I'm sure Ruri will," he smirked. The gift for Raleigh was one of the latest Flashcharge action figures. The one that could say eight catchphrases and cool lines and had laser eyes and a small blue light in the palm of its hand, which would shine if you pressed a button on the back.

The reaction was a good one and Ruri looked extremely pleased. “I know everything.” She purred out. “I tried to get Raleigh in the picture, but he kept scowling. Figured you didn’t want to look at his ugly mug anyway. Only pretty girls, right Ai?”
Ai squealed in response and wriggled her legs. Raleigh held her steady before she could go tumbling to the ground, catching the present with the other hand. He didn’t appear overly thrilled with the prospects of getting a good gift from FC.
He opened it tentatively, as if expecting it to explode in his fae. When it was finally free of wrappings, his expression was so comical that Ruri nearly fell over laughing. “Ugh.” He said, staring down at the heroic face of the Flashcharge action figure.
“Me!” Hannah stole it out of his hands without any difficulty and proceeded to wave it up and down.

Thomas grinned brightly and chuckled while giving Ruri a wink. "Looks like I picked the wrong present for Ai," he chuckled. "I've got a line of others, too. All of them different phrases, if you'd like them," he offered, smirking at Raleigh.

Raleigh pushed back his disgust as the little dolls voice called out ‘Fear me! For I am the Mighty Flashcharge!’ (which made Hannah laugh and shake it even harder) and smiled disarmingly at Thomas. “I’d love them! It will give me a chance to test out my new voodoo skills.”
“Lemme see.” Ruri asked Ai with a grin, kneeling down beside her and Raleigh.
“Loo’!”
“Oh yes, it’s wonderful!” She was going to make the doll speak everytime Raleigh was an annoyance from now on.

"Excellent!" Thomas responded, still smirking viciously. "I'll have a crate sent over to you and I'll ask them to send one for every new line they produce. That way you'll never run out of...me." Thomas seemed very smug indeed.
"I've got plushies and photos, toys, cards," he was grinning now as he counted off the humongous list of merchandise that involved Flashcharge. "Whatever you guys want, really."

“We can redecorate your room Raleigh!” Ruri said with a mocking, enthusiastic voice. She’d finally gotten the toy off Ai and was looking it over, giggling every so often, just like a child, when she made the lights flash.
Raleigh looked like he was going to be sick. “Okay, you win.” He conceded, lifting his hands and then quickly putting them back when Hannah starting slipping sideways. “Just, don’t send any plushies. I couldn’t handle that.”
"Aw, I'd like a plushie."
"Me!"

Thomas chuckled, finding the expression on Raleigh's face, as well as Ruri's actions terribly amusing. "What's there not to love about Flashcharge? He's the greatest superhero ever! Isn't that right, Ai, Ruri?"
Hah! He already knew what he'd be sending them soon! Lifesized plushie ooooof FLASHCHARGE!

“Of course.” Ruri answered and then laughed.
Ai opened her mouth to put in her two cents but Raleigh clamped a hand over her mouth. “Oh no, I’m not going to let you warp her.” He warned, but he couldn’t quite hide his smile. He hadn’t seen Ruri this happy for ages, and since Ai already seemed fond of the idiot he figured he could get used to having Flashcharge around.

Flashcharge flashed another grin. "Ha! It will only be a matter of time before she, too, will notice the splendour and awesomeness of Flashcharge!" he grinned, but he said it in a way that it clear he wasn't serious about it. Heh, he liked being here. And Raleigh wasn't so scary-protective anymore. He was a pretty cool kid. Not that he'd ever admit that.

“No, she will not.” Was Raleigh huffy reply as he pulled the little girl closer. “I’m more awesome, aren’t I Ai darling?” He cooed playfully, making Hannah giggle.
Ai got a hunk of Raleigh’s hair and gave a tug. Raleigh winced and sighed. Well, he was getting used to it now.

((Okkk, I don't know how to continue, so I'll skip to the end. xD))
It was in the middle of the night and Ruri was sleeping in Thomas' arms. But he really had to leave. He had stayed long enough and he simply HAD to get back. He sighed, regrets coming back when he gently removed his arms and softly kissed Ruri's forehead. He quietly got up and then got dressed. When he was about to leave the room he paused and looked back at Ruri's sleeping form.
He felt something inside of him stir and then, instead of leaving, went back to Ruri. He sat down next to her and kissed her again, shaking her slightly to wake her up. "Ruri," he whispered. "Ruri..."
He waited until she had blinked and opened her eyes and smiled at her. "I'll come back. For you, Ruri," he whispered. One of his hands gently carressed her cheek. "Once this war ends...for you and...and for Hannah," he told her even softer. "I promise." He smiled and kissed her again before he untangled himself from her embrace and left the room. He did look back at her from the doorway and smiled at her, the moonlight illuminating his form impressively.
Then he was gone.
He had gone over and checked up on Hannah and had softly kissed her forehead, and then left the house.
Ruri would hear the door click shut.
