Adaya cocked her head at first, but then she smiled. "I'm bored right now," Adaya looked around her as she said,"do you want to race?" and with that, she bounded down the small hill in front of them. "To the tree!" she said playfully.

Qin was taken by suprise at the sudden offer to race. It took him a few seconds to gather his thoughts, but he quickly organized them and bounded down the hill after Adaya. He looked ahead to the tree, it was a good 200 yards away. He shifted into a faster gallop, and pulled up even with Adaya, then a little ahead. He wasn't sure if he could hold his lead on her though, looking back she was right on his hooves.

Adaya was pretty confident at her head start, but now, she was to focused on Qin's speed, it took her a few seconds to accept it, but he was winning. So she gathered all her energy for the last 50 yards, and managed to get neck to neck with Qin, but she couldn't get any faster.

Qin saw Adaya pull up even with him out of the corner of his eye. He tried to shift into another gear for more speed, but he had cranked himself out to the max. He hadn't run full out for a while, he was out of shape. He pulled a little bit ahead, but felt himself drop right back next to Adaya. He saw the tree, it was...right in front of him!
He tried swerving to avoid it, but only managed to put himself more in front of it. He colided with it, making a sickining thud as skull met bark. He slumped to the ground, and thought he saw stars, or were they ducks? He shook his head to clear it, and stood up. He knew that he was going to have a pounding headache any minute.

Adaya gasped as she saw Qin collide with the tree, and she winced at the sound. She skidded to a halt, and bounded over to him, and checked that he hadn't broken anything. no,pe, because he was moving all his limbs trying to gradually get up. "Are you ok?" Adaya asked, "Oh, this wouldn't have happened if we hadn't raced..." Adaya said and lowered her head. She bent down and nudged him up onto his feet.

Qin let out a shakey laugh, and said, "Its okay, I just should of paid more attention to where the tree was." He wobbled a bit, but stood up straight. His head ached, it felt as if, as if he had run into a tree. Either that or angry tree rats had pounded him with a sledge hammer. He shook his head once to clear it a bit more.

Adaya heaved a sigh of relief when she saw that he was ok. Then she laughed a bit, "Oh sorry," she said between a few chuckles, "you should've seen your,*chuckle*,face! Sorry,*chuckles*" Adaya then composed her face, "it was, quite, humerous... and how does that aching head of yours feel?" Her last sentence was sincere as she looked up at him, her eyes widened as she saw a small bump on his head, "Oh my..." She gasped and she continued, "Does it hurt? Do you need to lie down again?" She panicked a little, then calmed down but she shuffled her feet a little.

Qin pouted a little as Adaya laughed at him, but he knew it was all fun and games. Now, when she actually looked concerned, he widened his eyes and said quickly, "Oh no, I'll be okay. I've gotten worse bumps than this one." He gingerly touched the bump and winced, it hurt, but it was a managable pain.

"I think," said Adaya, "you should rest!" Adaya gingerly nudged him and persuaded him to lie down, and Adaya lay down with him. "Any more trotting around with that and you'd faint. If you rest, then the headache may go away soon, but the bump may stay for a few days." Adaya chuckled for a bit. "And what would the mares say about that, like, that Hsien you were talking about." Adaya sighed, "What would she say?" Adaya then looked into the distance, suddenly being serene, which is rarely seen.
Adaya is usually cruel, YES! She made a friend! (at least I think so...

The cool grass tickled his flank as Qin lay down. He moved around a bi to flatten it down. It felt good though, after that run. He rubbed his head on the grass, cooling down the headache, so it didn't hurt so much.
He looked curiously at Adaya, she seemed...well he didn't know how to describe it. She just seemed, at peace with herself for a moment. He didn't know what kind of turmoil her life had been before he had met her, but now it seemed, better. He was glad Adaya was his friend, he knew that beneath all the scathing comments, she would be a good friend.

After awhile, Adaya sighed, and said," you didn't answer my question Qin, tisk tisk, you need more thinking time?" Adaya sighed again as the stillness was shattered by a warm breeze.

Qin felt a faint blush creep onto his face. He had been thinking in his own little world. He had been doing that a lot lately, contemplating his life. He thought over the question and replied, "Hsien would probably say,"
He thought for another moment, then finished his reply, "Actually, she probably wouldn't say anything. Just smile a little and shake her head." The warm wind whipped his mane and tail, then settled down again.

Adaya smiled slightly and sighed," I see..." She looked up at the sky closed her eyes and inhlaed as the approaching sunset set the clouds aflame. "It's getting late, I'd better be going... Bye Qin!" Adaya said as she stood up, "hope your head gets better!" she started to bound down the meadow, losing herself in the sunset, until she was only a speck in the winding hills"
(I'm not going to answer for a day or two, going to Canada)

Qin pushed himself to his feet, a little confused by what had just happened. Oh well, he supposed he would see her tomorrow. Adaya was indeed a curious little thing. He settled under the tree again as the moon rose and set in the sky.
A loud chirping interrupted his dreams, and grumbling a bit Qin opened one eye. A bird had chosen to nest above his head, and to wake him up. He stretched his legs one by one and looked at the sky, it was just morning. He wondered if Adaya would come back to investigate today.
Thinking wouldn't fill his stomach though, so he just shrugged his shoulders and began to eat the grass. It was still covered in dew, a pleasant treat. He didn't normally wake up early enough to get the dew with the sweet grass.
