Mine are downloaded legally. Not that I have anything againt the musicians or record company. Sometimes if I discover a new band which I like, I'll want one or two of their older CDs, which it's much easier to download than to track down and buy... I'm not evil... wink

I prefer to buy the original cds because the money goes towards the band and you get like the info book with it. You also know what songs are on the cds too.
I only download songs if I only like one or two songs of the cd. It would be a waste to buy a cd for only a couple songs.

Exactly why I dislike most music that is mainstream. It's always filled with a bunch of crappy tracks and then there are the three songs that are accually worth listening to. Just not worth it.

I usually download a whole cd track and see if I like it. If I like a majority of the songs I will buy the cd. If not...the ones I don't like get recycled or toasted.
I see no point in buying if I only like one song out of the whole cd. I think singles are not worth it either but that's only me... confused

I always buy CDs...I'm really into supporting bands I love (but I do get a lot of music from friends).

that doesn't really support the band. It's going to the show and buying the CD that supports them. If you buy it at a store, it just goes to the record company.

I would definately say buy......It is all a cycle: you buy the cd, intern giving the band profit, intern them putting out more mechandise and making more new mateirial......The only time I am involved in downloading is if a friend gives me a burnt cd.......Even if the cd has only one or two songs I know, I'll still buy it because I might love the other songs incoorperated into it......That is how my favorite bands came to be my favorite.

The band gets very little from buying CD's unless you do it at one of there own shows. There shows and there merch is how they make money like most bands/artists do. As well, it isn't entirely true what you say. Blink 182 I think is a good example of this. They were at the top of there carreer and broke up.

Blue_Eminems_in_the_rain I download because I hate the record companies You download because you hate record companies? You have some grudge against these companies because they make your favorite artists even popular? Yeah, then I hate them too. talk2hand

I download music all the time. I might buy a CD if I feel like it and have the money. But I go and download, then put the music on my Pocket PC (Palm Pilot) and listen to it on there. That Pocket PC can hold like 400 songs, I'm taking advantage of it. xp
