Can't have full concert experiance unless u leave with your ears ringing, and every single sound you hear, either really loud, or really quiet. Ive gone to maybe 5 so far, all of which i went home without the ability to hear all that great which kick HUGE a**!!!!!!!!

Contagious Cure xXx White Lily xXx yeah, the ringing in your ears the day after and all you're friends shouting at you for going "what?!" all the time is part of the fun! xd Ah the memories 3nodding Reminds me of that Grand Fatal gig I went to earlier this year. Reminds me of pretty much every gig I've been to. The sound system at Liverpool Academy is particularly bad, it deafens me every time. I went to a gig on Sunday though and yesterday I could hear fine so I must've gotten used to it lol. It was a pretty big venue though with great sound quality so that might be why.Contagious Cure It is if you constantly find yourself around people who can't stop talking about nonsense. rofl I know the feeling lol

bugzeek i found out why concerts are very loud. they raise the killhurts up very high like the 1k and 2.5 and some other ones too. WOW. really? i thought the music in concerts were loud just to spice up the music experience or something..... hehehe... redface

You really have to be in 'the mood' to realy enjoy live concerts. If you know you're just gonna drag yourself in there, or if its just one of those days where you have a headache and aren't feeling too well, its better to just stay home and lie down on a bean bag with head phones.

I went to a Metal Meltdown at Asbury Convention Ctr, which was mostly Death Metal the day I went...and i have to say i could not take out my ear plugs the whole time.
Other than that, I can't think of any others i needed ear protection for...not even Incubus/System of a Down show I saw...
Then again some club and party shows i've been to, prob could have used ear protection..between the music and screaming over it to your friends (not to mention the head swinging)...
hmmm...memories... :-/

I always thought everyone around me would think i was the biggest yuppie nerd if i wore earplugs to a concert. But its really encouraging to see so many cool kids here say that they wear tehm all the time. So yay, i dont have to sacrifice my hearing! heart

professional concerts (the likes of BIG bands eg taking back sunday, The Used etc) don't bother my hearing that much..i mean sure i walk out of the venue with the ringing ears..but after an hour or two i find that my hearing is fine again....it's small concerts that kill my hearing like local bands and stuff like that.....sometimes i find my ears are still ringing almost up to a week after going to them
Useless fact number 01: The longer your ears ring after a concert is an indication of how good your hearing was AND how much you've damaged it mrgreen

Earplugs!? What?
I've never known anyone use them, why bother going to a concert just to plug up your ears? If it's too loud, go to the back. If it's still too loud, concerts just aren't for you.
Sooo...essentially no. No I've never used earplugs. Ears ring, but it's not permanent.
