My first concert was Taking Back Sunday last year. I made the mistake of forgetting to bring my earplugs. It was sooooo loud there. Now I have permanent ear damage because of that. gonk

Oh geez I've been to quite a few concerts and have never worn earplugs... and yes my hearing is damaged. Although I must say it's only these last few gigs that seem to have polished me off. P.S. I saw Taking Back Sunday earlier this year xd

live4music I love concerts. Never take earplugs. My hearing's still good. My memory isn't though! sweatdrop You probably forget to take earplugs then whee Nah but seriously, don't wear 'em, I mean sure everything sounds wierd once you leave the concert but some songs need to be loud in order for you to get the full effect.

It's true... concerts are loud... but life in general is loud too...
I live in Santiago de Chile and it's all noisy... in the subway, on the streets, the busses and stuff... uf, awful!! There's no escape.
So, better enjoy the loud music while you can xd I am sure I'll end up deaf like my dear Ludwic sweatdrop

I went out to an alt music / gothic club 2 nights ago and my ears have only just stopped ringing. I really shouldn't do it because I plan to do sound designing as my career.

Alternative rock isn't so much of a problem... I'd be more worried about gothic rock. And anyways, its good to have live music experiences for that field... even though most sound designers I know mess around with synths.
