Not so much a thought, more of an 'update'.

My original plan was to introduce The Event via the guild (i.e. in a thread). However, now this towns project is getting underway, it has occurred to me I can introduce it there instead!

The main body of the event, as it were, will still take place in the threads (that is to say, set as if in the town we're making (which itself is meant to be on one of the Anachronism's cogs)) - largely because it'd be unfeasible to be all there at once with any frequency. However, I hope to have certain elements of the event taking place in towns - is more dramatic, you see.

That's a good idea cap'n. =3

Also about your mules idea, It's good for reserving spots, but it would probably cost a lot to move them out and then move the other people in. xP And I don't know how it works, if once a person moves out, is the space readily available, or is it one of those things where the Housing Commission automatically looks for those spots and fills them with people who click the "Place my House for Me" button.

But if we just chip in the cost for moving, it might work, as long as the spot really turns out free. =] I remember there used to be a way to reserve entire plots, but I'm afraid Gaia may have removed that feature a long time ago. xP

Also, I looked around, and all the new plots don't have chess boards! D: I'm not sure we could get one. But there are a good many of them with empty fields, so there will probably be less than my estimated amount of spots to fill. =]

If you need help with mules I can be sure to help. *Has had a lot of experience with creating more mules than he can handle. xD*

Yes, no chess boards... darn.

In terms of people nabbing automatically, the way I hoped to do it would be that the mule would move, and the other person build there house as quickly as possible - hopefully it would not be filled automatically, as it stands to reason other vacancies would be there first. I really don't know, mind, I was planning to experiment.

Might cost a bit just to experiment. xD But I hope it doesn't fill up automatically. =3

More like cleaning costs; this here guild is powered by focused light from the sun. Those mirrors and lenses need constant polishing, mind.

I'll probably just have a regular house until I come up with a decent idea (steambot shop?). I still need to check the cost of relocating my current house. I have a couple mules I can use already if we need it but maybe not enough money each since I haven't accessed them in a while. Will check.

I drained all my moneys just getting my pub the way I wanted it (or rather, as close to how I wanted it as the different housing items will allow).

It is here by the way:

I call the airfield.

If you can manage such a thing be my guest.

I figure I can just take the plot nearest the big empty space in the middle of the map and call it the airfield...

That looks hella kewl!

I wonder if there are enough house items to create a decent steambot shop? I know some of the avatar items can be dropped into the houses but they become really tiny.

Yeah. It sucks to have to use avatar items. xP Gaia doesn't have enough housing items out yet. It's probably because not enough people show interest in Gaia housing. Every house you enter these days has concrete wallpaper and maybe the starter set items. xP

The Brass Lion is open as well. ;3

Hmmm... As districts go, we should obviously have a commercial district. That would cover pubs, bars, tea-houses, restaurants, shops, etc. Also given number of residential districts, which are self-explanatory.

Then we should have the official district, which might include libraries, offices of other kinds. (I plan to create an office of archaeology when I have the time and money. =B )

The Scientific district would probably include the Observatory, the Conservatory, and other things.

The school would probably either go in the official, or scientific district, unless of course it's a school for children. If that's the case, a residential district would probably be best. ;3

We're probably looking at at least one commercial district, probably no less than two residential districts, one scientific and one official district (though of course if we don't have enough of those types, then we can combine them into one), and perhaps have one district of miscellanea.

Ways I saw it, each 'district' would correspond to a part of the Anachronism - which for starters would be a square a tier/cog (ignoring the bit in the middle). To that effect, things would not be grouped together perfectly (that is to say, the eateries would be spread amongst residential*) - but I see things like the school and academic buildings being together.

To that effect, my house, office (should I make it) and orangery were going to be together. Although I can see why the orangery would belong in the scientific section.

* When I say this, I imagined that some (if not all) of the eateries would correspond to a different section. That is to say, as far as the residential squares are concerned, the eatery would be the 'centre' of the grid, with people placing themselves in it accordingly (i.e. if they like the pub, that's where they'll live, etc.).
