Captain Amaranth
*breathes sigh of relief*

It is done, the town is ours... Populated by an army of mules, but ours none the less.

What to do to claim your house:

Iffin you want a house spot, currently occupied by one of the mules, you can either PM me or commandeer the mule yourself. They are as follows:

Username: BowlerHat[X]
Password: Anachronism[X]
where [X] represents a number.

Use this to commandeer whichever you want to move out of your way (after clicking 'Relocate' you needn't place the mule anywhere).
Please note: The mules have no working e-mail addresses. You can supply your own if you need to. Also, it will cost 1000 to move the mule out of your way.

If this seems too much hassle, you can get me or one of the crew to move it for you.

Top'o'the'mornin to yeh. It's I! Loki! Yer friendly neighborhood... er... neighbor! ;3

And as my neighbor, dun't yeh think it's time that we all became more friendly like? Like, yanno, actually living in the same neighborhood? Virtual-like, if not in reality. =B

Captain Alexander Amaranth would like to extend a welcome to all members of the Gaian Steampunk community to join hands together and create our own small town within the larger Gaia Towns application. He announces it in the official Anachronism Steampunk Discussion thread, which if you haven't visited yet, for shame! (Omits the fact that he only started going yesterday. xP) See here.

As you will read, we are not only looking for those who plan to hold their residential house there, but also those who might want to create commercial type establishments as well, such as restaurants, or shops, (but not pubs, because I call the pub! D;< Nah. If you really wanna make a pub, go ahead and do so... but with the knowledge that my pub will totally blow yours out of the water. ;D ) or offices. Hell, I bet you guys can think of anything. We could use a library, an Office for Expeditionary Excursions, an art gallery, a boiler room, who knows. It's your house, make it awesome. ;3

I think the best thing to do is to basically pwn the entire zipcode, which usually has like 8 habitable squares around a central miscellaneous square (OOOOH... Let's get one with a chessboard, pretty please?), with six houses in each square, so DAMN! 48 people?! That's a lot. I think some zip codes have more residential areas than others anyway.

Also, I think it's likely that there will be some sort of scheme where certain squares are set up as residential neighborhoods, while others are for commercial use.

If we need 48 people, it's probably okay to use mules too.

The catch is, everyone needs to be on at the same time so we can INVADE! ;D So it's best to put your name on the Cap'n's list so he can notify when the invasion will take place, and you should be sure to be on during that time or else we'll get one of those unclean un-steampunk people instead of you. So yeah, just be sure to make it whenever it happens.

So anyway, it's time for me to make my exuent, because even though I greeted you with a top'o'the'mornin, it's nowhere near morning here. I'm sleepy. *yawn* Nighty night. ;3

I'll keep a proxy list of people here:

I'd roll with that.

Homes.

I moved there as well, and at the time I was only the second resident of the entire Zip code, and now it is full. And I don;t think they are all steampunkers, and many haven;t even done anything to their homes either. This is problematic.

Meanwhile, my house itself is a home-c**-bar. I want, when we move again as I fear we must, to have a mule move into one house that I can have as my home, and then have 'my' house as the bar.

Yeah. I moved in to the town thing like you did and found it quickly full up with people who we don't know. That's why we decided to move again and do it en masse not giving noobs a chance to infiltrate our new town. xD

Let's also try and get a catchy number. Like 777777 or something. xD

Thanks very much Loki, I like the cut of your jib.

The post specifically regarding the current status of the towns project is here: o_Q

With regards to the non-house buildings, if no-one else is interested the guild mules will be filling in as follows:

LadyAnnaChronism - a tea shop (with oriental flavour, no less)
SirSidneyRatherDashing - a Library
Voice of the Anachronism - a room full of crates. or something.

I have just completed my house which is now...

The Rusted Gear!

For those not in the know (i.e. most of you), it is a steampunk-ed themed bar, complet with deranged cactus and eclectic decor! Though as far as the pretense goes, I stock anything, Gaia's items limit me to coke, eggnog, watermelons and freaky egyptian moonshine. But its fun anyway, even if I did need to buy a hideous amount of coke to pull it off.

So I probably missed the exodus. Is there anyway for me to move my house to the new location still? What is the ZIP?

Have no fear!
We have not moved yet, we're waiting until we have enough people first.

It cost me a pretty penny, but may I present to you:

Lady Anna's Tea Shop!

Ok, new thought.

I'd say it's a reasonable assumption to make that ever after gathering 42 people (9 squares - 1 centre - 1 chess = 7, x 6 = 42 buildings) (including whatever alt. houses people have), more people might arrive later that would want to join us. No?

To that effect, I suggest creating something akin to an army of mule accounts that will simply serve to take over the towns area next to the first. That way, if someone else wants to move into the town, the mule can leave and the new person take the vacancy straight away.

Thoughts? Anyone want to join me in creating such a number of mules?

Either way, I intend to wait until we have a considerable number of people interested.

Yet another thought:

After we have enough people (say, 42) - I suggest carefully looking at which users will have houses, who will have shops, etc. and subsequently arrange them accoridingly (i.e. either having districts, or spreading them out).

Thoughts?

BTB: I heartily encourage people have houses with their own accounts, and using a mule to open up a shop etc. I myself have done this, Lady Anna now has a tea shop.
