When I went to New York I was pretty excited about getting to look at some of the latest fashions on Fifth Avenue (yes, I know... I'm such a stereo-typical girly girl), and I was dissapointed to find that most of them were really ugly. I mean, from the looks of it, it appears they are trying to bring back the 80's and the 50's simultaneously. gonk

Why would you go to a concert, buy an official concert tee shirt, that says its a fake? I'm sorry, I don't get it. Let me explain.. Last night I went to The Used concert with my friend Amber. (her brother is Brandon, the drummer, so we got in for free, backstage and all) I'm sitting there, waiting for her to come back from where ever she had gone and I see this kid wearing a shirt that said 'The Used' on it, and written over that was, 'I'm a FAKE'. I thought it was really dumb. He was having the band sign it. Burt, (lead vocals) thought it was dumb too. 'This isn't f---ing fake! I wouldn't f---ing sign a mother f---ing fake.' ..He's a funny guy...
But yeah. I didn't like the fake tee's. -shrug-

StarlitJasmyn I hate the shirts at Hot Topic with the pictures of Orlanbdo Bloom, Tom Felton, Danial Radcliffe, Elijah Wood, and Johnny Depp on them, as the respective characters they've played. While I would, and do, wear shirts with the movie title on them, I wouldn't want one with an actor's face, especially if it's a movie based on a book. It just adds to everyone associating Tolkien's great work with a bleach blonde pretty boy, or a set of great books that encouraged children the world over to read with the other bleach blonde pretty boy. I also hate the skirts and shorts that aren't really there at all. How on Earth can anyone be comfortable wearing something that costs $20.00 and has about as much material as a washcloth? Amen to that. Damn, those miniskirts cost as much as like three pairs of jeans from TJ Maxx.

I cannot stand those white beaters on girls. There's something about them that bothers me to nooooo end. On guys, they can work quite nicely...depends on le homme who wears it. Girls, however....*shakes fist* I just....just don't like them on girls.
Another pet peeve (clothing wise) of mine is this idea that wearing "Good Charlotte" tees makes you hardcore. (This may be a little off topic, but I feel like getting this off my chest) There's all these supposed 'goths' and 'hardcores' at my school (who are actually 13 year old children playing dresup, in my opinion) who think they're all dark and spooky, and so completely BADAZZ. They have the blue hair, mohawks, dark makeup and the like...and then the shirts. They wear freakin' GOOD CHARLOTTE shirts. How are we supposed to equate a pop band (Yes, they are pop. Such is my opinion. If you care to argue it, feel free.) with hardcoreness? Why the hell are they TRYING to be hardcore? What in the name of all that is holy has posessed these CHILDREN to dress this way? Argh!!! And don't get me started on those stupid pins people are putting on their jackets and backpacks..."Skool sux"..."I <3 ______"..."Conformity Sucks"..."Punk"....AAAACH! It irritates me to no end.
I should probably stop now...I'm probably going to have a conniption/seizure/aneurism.

sweetdarkling I should probably stop now...I'm probably going to have a conniption/seizure/aneurism. You sound so much like me when I get riled up about something. xd I completely agree with you. The "non-conformist" teenagers out there are the bane of my existence. It wouldn't be so bad to have people who were actually against conformity, but for the fact that 90% of them shove it in our faces, which leads me to believe that less than 2% of those claiming to be non-conformist actually are. Honestly, what's so wrong with conformity? Thinking differently is all well and good, but being completely against school and laws and socially acceptable behaviours is really pointless. Some people are just dying for something to be against, so they fight against things they find boring or unpleasant, not something they actually feel strongly about. Of course school is boring a lot of the time, but it's necessary if you want to get a decent job someday and not be flipping burgers and living at the YMCA. Naturally you hate being told what you can and can't do, but laws keep society from utter chaos (which, despite what you claim now, you would find unbearable). Obviously you want to be different, but you have to face the fact that you aren't, not really. You can change how you dress, change how you look, and change how you talk, but you can never change the fact that you're the same old human being as everyone else, subject to the same feelings, growth, and inevitabilities. Damn it all. Society was just damn fine when we all lived in tight-knit communities where we worked for the greater good, and put the welfare of the many ahead of the welfare of the few. Now all we have is people saying, "Screw society, screw laws, screw my community, screw you. What's in this for me?" That's what this whole "goth"/"punk"/"non-conformist" bullshit is really about. To these morons I say, how about you stop trying so hard to make yourself different, and instead try to make a difference?
