James grinned up at her, releasing her hand and leading her over to the seat next to him. He quietly looked around the room, his eyes noticing that everyone was preoccupied with their own thoughts. He turned to face Lily when she pinched him, he knew at once why she had. He nodded, again looking around. He blushed, realizing that they were pretty close to each other, thanks to Remus sitting next to him. He was also starting to get more normal around Lily. He waited quietly, trying to think of something to say or do to release the tension in the room.

Sirius quickly looked away, staring at the floor. She had brushed up against him and he didn't know why, but he wanted to say that it was nothing. He couldn't find the words, so he just nodded to the floor and sat back facing the ceiling. Sirius's eyes didn't move at all, he was too concentrated on not looking at Claire or anyone else. He heard Claire sigh, which brought him straight back to reality. They had both scooted away from each other, inadvertently. Sirius looked around the room, Remus was looking blank faced at both him and Claire. He shuddered, this was the worst trip to Hogwarts in such a long time.

James looked over at Lily, watching her oddly try to choke down her licorice wand. He softly thumped her on the back, but she had grabbed his hand and stood up. James was forced to stand up to, now he was blushing. This was the closest that they had to holding hands. He realized how stupid he was, freaking out over her slightest touch. "Oh... yeah." He said playing along. Sirius looked up, perplexed, but he didn't say anything. He wanted to get out of the room, even if he had no idea what was going on. He stood, looking back at Claire before he closed the door behind them. He noted the nervousness that had seem to have overtaken her.

Remus scowled as the three of them left. Now he had to face something that he didn't want to. "I don't think so." He said, cutting her off. "We don't need to talk about this." He waved his hand in the air, noticing that she continued. "What?" He said, now confused. His gaze seemed to soften while she talked about their time together. "I understand what you mean, and I read the letter. Don't worry, I don't hold any grudges." He lied, he wasn't looking at her, but had followed her gaze to the door. He suddenly felt the urge to say something completely out of no where. "Does Sirius like you?" It sounded mean to him, but he didn't take it back. He had to know.

Sirius was pulled into the cart, James and he were seated next to each other. They leaned in so that they could hear what Lily was saying. Sirius pulled back, looking back with his own stern look. "What?" James looked at Sirius exasperatedly. "How is it not obvious?" Sirius looked back over at James. "You mean about Claire and Remus?" James nodded. Sirius looked at both of them, then stood up. "I need to use the..." And before he finished his sentence, was out and moving down the halls. The opposite direction of Claire and Remus.

She spoke softly, "look, i just didn't want to start out our final year at Hogwarts with this awkward relationship between us. I mean, we were all such good friends the last few years, but this just ruined everything.." She said, tears starting to well up in her eyes. She didn't want to face this reality now either, but she felt like this was the only time they could do it without interruptions. She was ready for a calm and civil conversation about their past, and she was more than ready to find a sense of closure about the whole situation. However once he asked her that question, the tears that she was fighting back now began to stream down her face. She covered her face with her hands, "I'm so sorry Remus. I never wanted this to happen like it did. I should have never broken it off for... him"

Claire then stood up and began to pace around the car, not in sadness, but in anger. "I don't even know if he likes me or not! I mean, we are friends but anytime I even notion something more he just turns around and starts snogging some other girl! He has to know that I like him as more than that, though. If he doesn't realize it by now, he... Ugh!" She whiped her eyes. "She turned her back to Remus. "I just hate that I gave you up.. for nothing." She then began to start sobbing again. She didn't know why she was letting all of her bottled up anger and sorrow out right now, but she couldn't help it. This had been eating her up all summer, so she had to say something.

Lily tried to call Sirius, but he was already too far down the hall. She turned to James. "Do you know anything about the whole Claire and Sirius thing? I mean, does he talk about her at all?" She asked to James. She turned to veiw the first years that were staring at them intently. She smiled nervously, then turned back to James.

Remus was startled by her reaction, almost at once, he wanted to take back what he had said. This is what first drew him to her, her unpredictability. He stood moving over to her, pulling her down to her seat again. He held her to his shoulder, so that she could continue to cry. "I didn't mean to make you upset." He said, something that was said often in these situations. He wondered about the entire conversation that she had just brought. "Does this mean that she has regrets about dumping me?" He thought to himself, holding her tightly to his shoulder.

James looked at Lily with a sad expression. "He talks a lot about Claire. He can't ever shut up about her. He was really disappointed when he didn't get any owls from her." He said, glancing at the first years. "I thought for a while about just telling him to ask her out, but he says that she doesn't like him." He frowned. "He's really thick."

Sirius went into the bathroom, it was rather empty. The tiles magnified his footsteps, a few guys that were standing around near the faucets looked over to see who had entered. He occupied a stall, ignoring them. He sat down, pushing his hands to his face, he wanted to scream.

Claire and Lily rummaged throughout their dormitory. Each of them going through their clothes, shoes and accessories to figure out where to put them in their room. They were both talking and laughing about past experiences in their room, which they had been in for all 7 years, they stumbled across something.

Claire was folding up her casual clothes and putting them in the drawer by her bed. She headed back to the trunk that was on her bed, when she noticed something behind her bedpost. "Lily, come over her." She notioned for Lily to come over once she realized what it was. She picked up a photograph. She began to giggle once she got a good look at it.

It was a movie picture of a much younger Claire, Sirius, James and Lily. Claire had her arms around Sirius' waist, smiling up at the camera. As soon as she saw herself, she stuck her tongue out at her dorky hairstyle. Sirius was grinning with his handsome, too cool to smile-simile, with his arm around Claire's shoulder. He had his other arm around his best friend's shoulder, James. He couldn't stop laughing. He had his arm around Lily's waist. Lily, herself, started laughing at how short her hair was, and how young she looked. They both knew the exact moment that the picture was taken, their 4th year. Claire was fine until she noticed that the Claire in the picture looked up at Sirius. She stared at him for a second, smiling, then returned to looking at the camera.

Lily then looked at Claire and gave her a hug. "Come on, we better get downstairs so we have good seats." She said as she grabbed Claire's hand and lead her down to the great hall. Once inside they assumed their seats and waited for the boys to sit next to them.

Claire couldn't stop looking at the picture. It wasn't that she was sad. She was just dissapointed at how long she had harbored a crush for Sirius. She just wondered if he felt the same. In the past, she just realized that being friends with Sirius was better than nothing at all. Is just that recently, she felt as though that wasn't enough anymore.

The dormitory candles light the room with a faint glow. The seventh year boys were all unpacking quickly, except for Sirius. He was sitting almost motionless on his bed, every so often picking up something and putting it away in its proper place.

James was whistling the Hogwart's school song as he riffled through all of his things, placing his clothes and items neatly in a drawer that he and Sirius shared between their beds. He kept pulling out moving pictures of Lily and him. In the pictures he kept ruffling his hair like the idiot that he was, and Lily was laughing at him in an embarrassed sort of way. (He could tell that she was embarrassed because her eyes were looking around at the other people.) He tucked one of his favorites under his pillow, while he tacked the rest above his headboard.

Sirius still hadn't move a whole lot, half of his things were still in the suitcase when James turned around. He had finished up and was rubbing his stomach in a teasing sort of way. Automatically he stopped whistling the tune. His previous happy-go-lucky smile faded instantly. "Are you still thinking about what happened on the train?" James asked, sitting on Sirius' bed.

Sirius was brought suddenly back to Earth. "Wha?" He looked around, trying to catch something that would grab his attention and hopefully lead away from the subject. And almost instantly his eyes caught a photo that James had put up. "Is that from our fourth year?" He asked, standing up and moving over to take it down. "Yeah, remember when we were all so stupid?" James said, chuckling to himself a little. The four of them standing around, Sirius and James were standing in the middle while Claire and Lily were on the ends. James and Sirius were standing as tall as they could to impress the girls, however, it seemed that the picture seemed to have gotten bored of standing straight and they were both slumped. "Did Lily send this to you?" Sirius asked, James shook his head. "No, it was Claire, she sent you one too, but you were over at my house, remember?" Sirius nodded, silently still staring at the picture. "You and Lily are really close." James stopped, suddenly serious. "You think so?" James was ruffling his hair, embarrassed. Sirius nodded, not taking his eyes away from the picture. "Closer than Claire and I. She's dating Remus, right?" James looked at him incredulously. "You're so dense, don't you pay any attention?" Sirius looked up, "You only started paying attention because you're trying to get any conversation that you can with Lily. They both started laughing and headed down to the Great Hall. They were talking about all the stupid things that they could remember. Snape's name appeared more than once.

When they finally made it down to the Great Hall, Sirius' mood had picked up. He laughed normally, his bark-like laugh the same as always. They sat next to the girls at the Gryffindor table, waving at some friends from other tables. Even a really nice Sytherian boy and girl waved back at them, with genuine smiles. They obviously didn't like Sytherian because long ago, the houses made an unspoken pact. To hate each other for as long as they existed.

"Hey Lily?" James said, leaning over to her. "I noticed that on the bulletin near the entrance they were talking about Hogsmead. Want to go sometime?" Sirius overheard James and looked over at Claire for a moment. "God, I'm starving." Sirius said, picking up a fork and knife. "When are they going to get this on the road?"

(( Love the post! I don't mean to nag, so please don't take it that way. But, can you please change your bright blue color to something a little duller. Idk, it is just a bit hard to read when it is a huge paragraph. Let me know if I need to do the same with any of my colors. ^-^ ))

As she saw Sirius walking towards her, she quickly looked over at Lily and poked her to get her attention. "For no perticular reason.. Hows my hair?" She asked, a bit nervous. Lily tucked a stray blond strand to the otherside of her part. "Perfect, I haven't heard that in a while." She laughed.

Lily was pretty excited as she waved to James and Sirius to sit next to them. She and Claire slid down the bench to make room for their boys. Lily giggled. "Aww I forgot how adorable you both looked in your school robes." She giggled. She then reached over to pinch James' cheek and wriggle it a bit.

Claire giggled, but couldn't get a stressed look off of her face. She let Lily and James talk a bit. She couldn't be happier with the company she was with, but it was just that she was so hungry. "I'm right there with you, Sirius. You would think that I wouldn't be that hungry with all of those sweets and pastries I ate on the train, but I guess not." She stared laughing at how funny Sirius looked all hunched over with his fork and knife until her stomach started to growl. She smiled lightly as her stomach was turning.

Lily was extremely excited when she heard James proposal. "Yes! I would love to go." SHe said as she reached over to hug him. "This is going to be so much fun. I can't wait!" SHe then let go of him and started at him sternly. "You better not do anything stupid to make it so that you won't be able to take me to Hogsmead. Understand?" She said, pointing a finger at him.

Claire then turned to Sirius, in a bit of a flirty chin-to-the-shoulder way, and smiled. She decided that she was going to go back to how it was with Sirius, by being a bit of a flirt and if anything wanted to come out of it, then so be it. "Don't you have anything to ask me? I mean, I know how much you would like to go to Hogsmead, and there's no sense in going alone." She said, in a bit of a sarcastic way.

(( sorry, i was going to write about the food but I didn't have time. I might not be able to reply this weekend cause i'm going out of town. I will on sunday or sometime though.))

As they took their seats they took their regular positions next to the girls. Lily had called him adorable, this surprised James because Lily didn't regularity act so childish, yet he still smiled upon finding a new side of her. Adorable wasn't the word that he was looking for, however, he was hoping that he looked cool and sleek in them. Sirius had refused to answer James when, as they were walking to the Great Hall, James had asked if he looked cool in his robes. When she finally stopped pinching his cheek, he rubbed his fingers over it as if it were a bruise, or a touch from heaven. [OMG, I put that in there?] He didn't look disgruntled or upset at her calling him "adorable."

Sirius almost laughed at her reaction when he caught a warning glance from James. James' smile widened at her excited reaction and answer at his hint to a date. Sirius was completely oblivious to Claire's look of stress, to him he just supposed that she was like him, eagerly waiting for the food to appear on the plates. "Hah! That is surprising." Sirius said, chuckling; momentarily forgetting about his own hunger. "I've never met someone like you before Claire. You stuff yourself with food and yet you look awesome!" Sirius said, smiling. "No wonder all of the guys ask you out and are always talking about you." He looked away, another Gryffindor had just caught his attention.

James hugged Lily back, his smile becoming more kind and sweet. "Stupid?" James said, acting surprised at her sudden change in mood. "Me? What could happen? Detention? A couple punches in the face?" He was just kidding, but he hoped that she wouldn't take it the wrong way. "Remember," James was more stern, actually serious. "I asked you, I never back out of my promises if I make them." He smiled, tilting his head slightly.

Sirius smiled at Claire, his attention automatically back to her; the other student went back to his friends. "You want to go to Hogsmead with me?" He asked, sounding unsure. "I'd love it if you'd come! With James taken with Lily, it won't be any fun! But if you come then it'll be a blast!" Just as he finished talking, the Headmaster stood, and caught Sirius' attention. They all rose and sang the school song, finally after what seemed like an hour, the food appeared on the tables.

Chicken, pumpkin juice, spaghetti, and so much more popped up on the previously empty bowls and containers. Sirius immediately began to pile his plate with countless of his favorite foods. Blueberry pie, steak, fries, and pumpkin juice. Sirius ate slowly, looking over at Claire every so often. He hoped that he could figure out her favorite food so that he could maybe make a lunch for her. He was rather good at cooking, though because he was thrown out of his house and had to fend for himself most of the time anyway, it didn't matter.

[Sorry about the color, I thought it was bright too. When I get around to it, I'll change them all to dark blue, let me know if thats okay. And don't worry about it. It gave me more to write about ^^.]

Lily was very excited when they determined that their Hogsmead date was official now. She though about where they could go to eat, where to shop, and where to relax. It was kinda her thing to plan everything out. Lily rolled her eyes at how obvious Claire was at flirting, but the strange thing was tha Sirius wasn't overlooking her like he sometimes did in the past. This made her smile a bit. She also a bit shocked at how forward Sirius was. However, she couldn't help but feel uneasy as she watch them. She knew that Claire would be crushed if Sirius went around to someone else this time around, it wouldn't be the first time.

Claire bit her bottom lip as Sirius said those words. She couldn't help but to feel happy whenever he spoke to her. "Well, I would love to go with you. But, your buying me lunch." She added with a smile. "And, if I'm as popular with guys as you say, then I will have no problem finding another guy to go with anyways. So you better not screw this up." She teased. Claire considdered this as close to a date as she could with Sirius, so she was going to milk it for all it was worth. She loved having a good time with Sirius, whether it was actually going someplace or just simple teasing back and forth.

Now Lily was even more pumped for the Hogmeade trip because her other two best friends were comming along as well. She did a little squeel of excitement, but then got back to the discussion at hand. "That hasn't stopped you before.. I just know that you will find some way to annoy some teacher or to pick on Severus." She then became very serious, loosing like her previous sarcastic tone. "Please, don't even waste your time on him. Either of you." She said now directing her statement at Sirius as well. She then took up her plate and began putting food on it, and she then began to cut each piece of food into indevidual bites and neatly started eating.

"Yeah guys, you really need to lay off him. I mean, he's not that bad." Claire said between bites. Her plate was stuffed with all kinds of food: chicken with a touch of gravy, all kinds of vegetables, some stuffing, and mashed potatoes. "Would it kill you to just be nice to him." This time her words were just a gurggle with all the food in her mouth. She took the time to chew and swallow. "I mean, the whole macho bully thing is kind of an attractive quality, but it gets a bit old." She said sympathetically. She then continued to munch on all of her food, which was just in a mound on her plate. Claire had no problems with Severus, but she knew that Lily did. Claire could recal Lily crying because of how mean he was to their friend Stephanie.

Lily became a bit angrier as Claire spoke. "No, he doesn't deserve to be treated nicely. All that I ask is that you both don't do anything stupid to jeapordize or trip to Hogsmeade." Lily spoke with conviction. Severus was once Lily's good friend, untill he made fun of her friend for being a muggle born. He even made fun of Claire for her one of her parents being a half blood. Lily herself was a muggle-born, so it hurt her to hear him say those things about other people when she was one as well. "I just don't want this trip to be ruined before it starts, especially on Snape's behalf." She said, a bit sweeter this time.
PostPosted: Wed Nov 26, 2008 5:36 pm

Sirius was shoveling food into his mouth as Claire spoke; he was trying to multitask his listening skills and his speaking skills while balancing eating. "I don't mind. I was planning on doing that anyway. I don't think that I told you, but I worked during the summer in Diagon Alley. So, it's not a problem. I can even get you a present if you'd like." He said after he swallowed his brisket. He was trying to sound kind and considerate, which was how some of the guys that Claire showed her fancy for were like. "You aren't planning on doubling are you?" He asked, he continued to explain what he said because of James' peculiar look, "You know, saying that you'll go with me, but you're really going to go with another guy?" Sirius teased, snickering at Claire's comment, it was a little inside joke between James and himself. Sirius had been telling guys off for even talking about her for a year or so. Sirius was serious about trying to date Claire and thought that this Hogsmead trip would make the perfect dating scenario. "Were you planning to go anywhere? Like the little shops? Or just going to eat first second that we get out of Hogwarts?" Sirius asked to the three of them. He mostly spoke to just Lily and Claire, James would have no idea where or what they would be doing when they got out there.

James was smirking while he pulled food onto his plate, not really looking at what he was getting. James was mentally patting himself on the back because he asked Lily out. Which had taken less energy than he had thought. While both Claire and Sirius were too dumb to realize that the other liked them and that they should just call it was it was. A date. "Of course we pick on Snivlous. He's a total a**! Remember what he called you? And Claire!" James said, now getting defensive. "And!" He added, "He made you cry." He looked over at Sirius and they both looked disgusted at the idea of not paying him back for everything that he had done to Lily and in Sirius's case: Claire. "Fine. Whatever you want Lily." James said, halfheartedly. Sirius glared over in Snape's direction, "I won't do anything either, but still..." He was hesitant as he plunged his fork into a ribeye steak.

At Claire's comment Sirius and James looked at each other. After a minute or two of this they both burst out with a loud roaring laughter. Sirius almost choked on the food that he had placed into his mouth seconds before while James was trying to smother his unending giggles. "Not that bad?!" James said, "What about him isn't that bad, Claire?" He asked, still trying to stop himself from laughing. "Yes, it would be horrible." Sirius said, "Embarrassing." James added, "And revolting to the entire Gryffindor house." Sirius and James said together, their faces clear of emotion. They both seemed to be able to free themselves from Claire's "hilarious" comment for the time being. Suddenly, when Claire turned away from him, Sirius sat straight. He did this whenever Claire commented him, or something that could be taken that way. "We weren't trying to impress." James said, though he was lying.

"Here, Here!" Sirius said to Lily's comment. "I won't bother old snively, I promise." James said, crossing his heart childishly. "I guess I'll promise as well." Sirius said, following James' example. James and Sirius cleared their plates and waited till the end of the feast, when the desserts would appear instead of a meal. They learned from their very first year that they should leave room for it. Sirius always stole some from the table and stuffed his favorite sweets in his bag when no one was looking. Though James knew that Dumbledore knew what Sirius was doing, but did nothing because he had taken a liking to James and Sirius.

Claire meerly rolled her eyes and chuckled at Sirius' statement. She wouldn't consider going to hogsmeade with any other boy in all of Hogwarts. Every guy that she has dated, which honestly weren't that many, have been too.. perfect. They were all really nice and handsom, but she felt as though they were too nice and handsom. Remus was probably the only guy that she dated that she actually dated, mostly because of his differences with everyone else. However, in the end, she realized that it was Sirius who she was truely in love with. It's true what they say about how the good girl always falls for the bad boy. But in Sirius' case, he was more than that. She couldn't image going with anyone else. But there was no way he could know that! "Yeah, all I have to do is lift a finger, and every guy will come running up to me." She blushed, knowing that it wasn't true.

Lily seemed to calm down after the boys pledged their loyalty to not ruin their Hogsmeade trip. "Thank you, boys. Thats all I ask." However, she wasn't to easy to forgive Severus. Just thinking about him, made her blood boil. She decided to think of the positives instead. Like going on a date with James. That cleared all the anger away, quickly. However, there was also a tiny bit of animosity towards Claire that just sparked. Claire knew about all of the things that Severus had said and done, but she still acted like he had done nothing wrong. She meerly overlooked this though.

As soon as the guys started laughing, Claire became a bit irritated. "Yes, he said all of those things, but he is still a human being. And, it would not be revolting to the entire Gryffindor house because I am one too." She wasn't yelling but her voice was a bit stronger than usual. "You both just don't like him in general, and you use Lily as a reason to abuse him." She wasn't looking at them because she was busy piling her plate with the cherry pie in the middle of the table. "It's time you both grew up. I know that i'm no angel either, but.." She sighed. "The difference between me and you all, is that I know how to let things go.." She was a bit softer when she said this. She remembered the day that he made fun of her last year. The reason she was so upset at the time was that she felt as though she had done nothing but be as kind as she could be to Lily's friend. Well former friend.

Now she defending him! Lily screamed in her head. The only thing that ever semi-annoyed her about Claire, was her almost hippie-like attitudes sometimes. There was no reason to forgive Snape, ever. She couldn't beleive her ears when Claire spoke those words, but what could she do. Argue with her best friend? This was not something she wanted to fight over. She really couldn't find anything to say, because there was nothing to say. As much as she wanted to argue about her wounds in the past, she realized that those are all they were. Old scars. And, as much as it hurt to think about. She was right.

"Well, keep that finger of yours down. You're going with me, not some guy that you just picked up." Sirius said, adding a tune of humor into it so that it didn't sound too serious. He really meant what he said, not that he'd reveal it out in the open, especially with Lily and Claire within ear shot. He knew that if he said he wouldn't go to Hogsmead without her that he might sound clingy, or that she might think him pouty. His dark black eyes stared into her eyes, wondering what she was thinking. Sirius had hoped that it was written on her face, but found that it wasn't. He really wished that there was a book on how to get along with girls and be able to predict their unusual behavior. And he wasn't the only one, James and Lupin had mentioned it before. Lupin, however, said that when one goes through trial and error then they will fully understand women.

James was sitting in his seat, grumpily he crossed his arms and sat in renewed silence, no longer hungry. He had barely made a dent in the plate, but even though his stomach grumbled, he refused to eat. The talk about Snape did nothing but ruin his mood and the continued talk wasn't doing anything but make it worse. While he was sitting there, he began to pick at what Lily and Claire were saying, mostly Lily. He smiled, he wouldn't have thought that she meant forever, but just not when something important could be at stake if he did.

"Human being or not, he shouldn't have said those things. Nothing that we've done can pay him back for what he said to the two of you." Sirius said, adding Lily in so that it wouldn't sound too protective. "Okay. Fine, you're right. Not the entire Gryffindor house, but most of them. I promised that I won't do anything to him, but I refuse to be kind to that weasel." Suddenly Sirius began to look around. "Speaking of rodents, where's Peter?" James began to look around as well, his revere broken. And he was the first to find him at the end of the table, sitting alone. "Down at the end of the table. Do you think that he's still mad about last year?" He asked, pointing him out to Sirius. "It was only a prank, and very harmless. Maybe it was you, putting salt on the wound." Sirius nodded, thinking about it. "Well, nothing we can do about it right now." James sighed, returning back to his sulky state, crossing his arms again.

"If this isn't grown up, then I don't think that I'll ever hit the mark." James interrupted, "No matter how old I get, I'll hate Snape with all of my being. Well, not all of it." James blushed, glancing at Lily. Sirius snickered a little and then nodded. "AND, I hope my son hates him too, you know that he's planning on becoming a teacher here?" James added, looking questioningly at Lily and Claire. "I never thought that he'd even pick a job." He shrugged. "I heard from Taylor that he was aim for the Defense Against the Dark Arts job. We've never been able to keep them. Old Mr. Rodney died of a heart attack, and Mrs. Nelson gave up because of some fireworks in her office." Sirius said. James smiled at Sirius slyly.

They were right after all. What Snape said and did was a bit on the unforgivable side, so Claire merely shrugged off the rest of their disscussion about his wrong-doings. She had a feeling that she was going to here enough about him, so she didn't need to wear herself out on the first night. She decided to get back on everone's good-side again, instead of being the person to point out the flaws in everything. That was Lily's job. Claire giggled to herself when she thought of this. She couldn't help but notice that Lily was acting a bit strange all of a sudden, almost distant. She let the boys have their conversation about teachers or something, and decided to focus in on Lily. She tried to make eye contact with her, and when she finally did, Claire gave her a 'Is everything alright?' look.

Lily noticed Claire eying her from across the table, but really didn't pay much attention to her. She was to busy thinking about a million different things at once. She was about to go for the dessert when a light tap touched her shoulder. She turned and was immediatly greeted by Stephanie Meerkson. She squeeled with excitement as she jumped uo from the table to hug her friend. "Stephanie!" She exclaimed.

Shephanie hugged Lily as she jumped up. She squeeled as well. Stephanie had long, straight tanish brown hair with light bangs in the front. The sides were clipped back. Her eyes were practically the same shade of green as Lily's were. She was quite tall and thin, but was quite developed in certain areas. Her complexion was an olive tone. She was quite beautifull in every way. She spoke in a very sweet tone. "Lily, It's so good to see you. Sorry, I was in a full cart on the train." Stephanie waved to everyone at the table. She seemed to be a bit less enthusastic when she waved at Claire. She also gave Sirius a bit of a flirtatious wave.

It was no secret that Claire wasn't ever thrilled whenever Stephanie came into the picture. The were still, firends but only had Lily in common. She seemed to be the exact opposite of Claire, in every way. Whereas Claire was a bit of a free-spirit, Stephanie was an uptight control freak. She had to have everything orginized and scheduled, down to the last second. Stephanie also seemed to dislike Claire for a number of reasons aswell. She disliked the fact that Claire and Lily were such good friends. They tried all being friends, but it seemed as though Stephanie was secretly competing for Lily's friendship. Stephanie aslo disliked the fact that she was such good friends with Sirius, because she fancied him as well. She scooted a bit closer to Sirius. "It's good to see you too, Steph." Claire said, aware that she didn't say hello to her. Stephanie merely smiled half heartedly.

Sirius glanced at Claire for a moment, the giggle had caught his attention. It seemed strange to him, that through this entire conversation, of Snape no less, she could still be happy. "That's Claire, I guess..." Sirius thought, his eyes darted up to the ceiling which wasn't there, instead it was replaced with the outside sky, Hogwart's Great Hall had always been like this. The dark murky colored clouds and the tinge of yellow, which Sirius assumed was lightning, seemed to reflect his mood, even if it had always been like that. He thought back to the sorting that had happened earlier, "Tiny little things aren't they?" James had whispered to him. Indeed they were, many were added to the already crowded Gryffindor table. Once James and Sirius actually discussed, more out of boredom than anything, what could happen if they got too many more additions to the house. The outcome of the conversation actually brought in ten people to discuss this. It brought a smile to Sirius' face as he remembered this.

James was startled by the sudden announcement of Lily's friend. To him, everything happened very fast. He even momentarily forgot why he had his arms crossed and placed them in his lap, unsure of what to do with them. As Stephine took her seat next to Sirius, Claire showed more than distane at her arrival, and Lily seemed to be excited enough to blow a casket. After a couple seconds of renewed silence, which seemed to have lasted to long for the girls, because they began to talk. He had noticed that he was not mentioned in the hellos; and the fact that he had met and had many conversations with Stephine, and she would forget to greet him, made him a little angry. "Sorry, Sirius." James whispered out of Stephine's earshot. He was sure, however, that Lily and Claire had heard his regrets.

As soon as Sirius heard Stephanie's name he groaned, his eyes almost rolling into the back of his head. Stephanie's name sounded like nails on a chalkboard to him, because every time that he ever came into contact or the same presence as her things went wrong, very wrong. Once James had been playfully pushing Sirius and Sirius back, when he accidentally fell down and landed on Stephine. Sirius's expression could be nothing more than distaste. He was sure that she would suppose that it was the tart that he had just taken a bite out of. Sirius waved back to her half-heartedly, his answering smile containing just enough sarcasm to make it obscure. As she took her place on the seat next to him, he tried his best to ignore her, paying no mind to the loss of distance they had once had. Sirius didn't even look at her until he was forced to. He wondered, through the entire fiasco, what she had done to have Claire look at her that way. Having no other place to look without feeling a riot in his stomach, he stared up to the pedestal where the Headmaster would announce a special event that would be taking place this year.

Once Stephanie sat down at their table, Lily became completely unaware that anyone was still sitting at the table with them. Lily wasn't crazy-obsessed with Stephanie, but whenever she did come over to the Gryffindor table, Stephanie would forcefully take all of Lily's attention. "Aww, I'm so mad that we missed you on the train. You would have been more than welcome to sit with us on the train." Lily said with sincerity. Lily was just really happy to see her friend for the first time since the previous school year had ended. She never understood why none of her other friend like Stephanie, especially Claire. In Lily's eyes, Claire had no reason to ever dislike Stephanie, but Claire is so wild and out there, that it's hard to pinpoint a true reason to why she does some things.

Claire, who was trying to hold in her laughter due to this awkward situation and Lily's outrageous statement, heard James speak to Sirius. Once she heard his apology, she burst out laughing. She couldn't help it. That's what she loved about James, he was almost like the comic releif of the group. She continued for a few seconds then became aware of what she was doing. She bent her head over and let her blonde hair fall over her face once she saw all the dirty looks she was getting from the other tables. Claire was trying hard, once again, to keep her laughter on the inside. She picked her head back up, and decided to try and stay out of Lily and Stephanie's conversation, out of fear of laughing too loud. She turned her attention to James and Sirius, and joined in on their conversation.

Stephanie gave a repulsed look as Claire lowered her head. She then turned her head back to Lily, and smiled. "Thanks for the offer, but I was having a blast with my fellow Hufflepuff." Stephanie thought about talking to Sirius, but she gave and almost wicked smirk. "Lily, I would really love to hang out with you all sometime soon." She then leaned in and spoke softly so that no one could hear. "And it would be so great if you could set me up with one of your friends." She then leaned back and waited for Lily's response.

Lily thought a moment, then pirked up when she thought of an idea. "Well, all of us were planning on going to Hogsmeade sometime soon. It will be all of us just going as one group, but.." Lily thought for a moment. She knew that it was going to be a double date of sorts, but she wanted Stephanie to be included too. She decided to do away with the dates, but then she decided to oblige Stephanie. "..I guess you and Sirius could go together. Just for fun." She gave Sirius a pleading look. Lily thought of how this might affect Claire, but just thought that she wouldn't would have more chances to go with him than Stephanie. Lily hoped that this would be true..

Before anyone could speak, Stephanie quickly wraped her arm around Sirius' and rested her head on his shoulder. "Great! This will be so much fun. I really can't wait!" Stephanie said with joy. She had to admit that she was exagerating quite a bit. She was happy to be going on a date with Sirius, but even more thrilled that Claire wasn't. She did have a slight crush on him though, but what girl didn't? Stephanie wasn't the only girl that disliked Claire because she was so close with Sirius..

Claire, who was now looking around at the little 1st years with James and Sirius, immediately jolted her head around to make sure what she had just heard was for real. Her jaw dropped. Did Lily honestly give up her spot with Sirius and then give it to Stephanie?!? She couldn't understand why Lily would do that. She didn't know if Lily didn't realize that it was her date with Sirius or if she just didn't care. Stephanie alway knew how to influence Lily in any way she wanted. This was a bit far. Claire didn't know if she should just start crying, or run out of the great hall. Suddenly she became engulfed in rage. She glanced around at her group for a second. "That's fine Steph.." Claire said sweetly. "..I was going to Hogsmeade with James anyway." Claire said, then turned and shot daggers at Lily.
