The expansion is set at november 17 for 14.99... or, for the first time, you can purchase on the release date and have it downloaded right onto your pc. i don't think this pack will be as expansive as a whole expansion pack. This pack will mostly have items, and a few skins. There won't be extra jobs or new housing utilities. It's just everything you need to get ready for your sims holiday.

yeah, this is one of the "booster packs" they were describing in one of their more recent questionaires I filled out. they asked if you would buy a "booster pack" containing 40-50 new objects for $14.99 you can always tell what they're about to start marketing when they ask those kind of questions xd

i think, if this is what they were talking about in their survery about "booster packs" then i think the price is around $15-20 i'm not sure about that though. But yeah the objects are things like garland and wreaths and christmas lawn ornaments, a nut cracker, some fireplace stockings... they mentioned being able to see santa or mrs. clause... and there being a family holiday meal, and fireworks for new years. i think there is also gonna be some chaunaka and kwanza objects.
Yeah, but the chaunaka and kwanza items are already in the exchange. There are 40+ items comming out and we already have 17 of them (If you've downloaded from the exchange).

Yeah, but they can also mess with your game. I get the warning that it'll mess with your stuff when I load up the sims.

well... the maxis made objects should be fine with your sims... as should the majority of all object downloads... but there are a few user made objects that are buggy and can do weird stuff... but if it makes you feel any better... i have over 5,000 objects downloaded into my game from various sim fan sites, and i don't have any issues with game play. xd

Well, the sims2 site is doing this... "12 days of christmas" thing with the site. and, on the home page, certain days will release certain things. And, it will happen on three days a week for four weeks i think. so.. even if you don't want to buy the holiday pack, you will be able to get a few items for free. I got hte wreath and tree this way which is most of what i wanted anyways.

No, I thought about buying it with my garage sale profits, but I just feel like there's so much more I could do with that money. I mean like, I could get a subscription to TheSimsResource and download THOUSANDS of items for a fraction of the cost. I just wouldn't get the holiday interactions like dressing up as santa or having a holiday feast. I dunno, I still haven't decided since the Holiday Pack IS on my wish list, I probably shouldn't buy it this close to Christmas! rolleyes

I don't think it's worth it...
Besides, it looks like Maxis is giving some of the objects to us already for free downloads during their "twelve days of christmas". The Actual pack is really the full Sims 2 game with the holiday objects included. Not worth the $39 they are selling it for.. unless you have not bought The Sims 2 yet. We saw it at GameStop today.

yeah just to buy the bonus pack/items you have to buy it online and download it. I probably will end up getting it I am just not in a rush. I wish with the expansion or maybe booster packs that there would come out with more hair, makeup, and glasses. Thats the stuff I really go for, I mean objects are awesome but I love options when I making a new sim. and I am totally obssessed with updating their look even after I make them. Specially the girls I will change there hair and makeup every so often.

You mean you can't actually buy the pack in stores thats kinda stupid.
PostPosted: Sat Nov 26, 2005 9:54 pm

yeah, unfortunately you can't buy the booster pack on its own in the stores... not unless you have an EA store near you. You CAN however order it from the EA store online and they will send you a CD... great stocking stuffer idea! smile If you're just getting it for yourself, you can just download the objects straight to your computer from the site.

but like they said, i am getting several of the items for free from their give away and if you think about it... you could spend a third of the price and get a 1 month subscription to a pay site and download the user made christmas objects. you just won't have the new animations and interactions. rolleyes

yay! my dad bought the holiday party pack for me for christmas!!! yay! it was a good choice! see... my mom does most of the christmas shopping, but my dad makes it a point to at least buy 1 gift for everyone himself. so i was quite impressed. he went online and bought the CD and everything. it was kinda funny... EA shipped the cd in a box that was bigger than your typical shoe box... overkill really, but oh well! i luf it! my legacy sims will be celebrating the holidays this week! yay! blaugh

neutral I bought the pack from a GAME store near me. It IS available in stores that aren't EA. I've never even seen an EA store. I doubt theres such a thing.
