Lumi snorted and giggled at Heret's words and his nuzzling. "Hey, you're the one with the imagination, this place probably looks a hundred times better in your mind then it does in mine."
she lowered her nose tentatively to the water, sniffing at it's clean smell. She stuck her nose in a bit and immediately pulled it back, shaking it from side to side, leting out a petrified squeal like a girl who's just had ice water poured down her bathing suit.
"ok!" Lumi shivered out, shaking her nose, trying to warm it up again. "The water is definantly cold."

"Well, an imagination is an important thing to have. Without it, you can never come up with anything great or do anything great for that matter. At least, that's what my mom used to say..." He trailed off, frowning for a split second before he chuckled and bumped Lumi, trying to knock her into the water. "Come on mountain girl, it's not that bad." The spotted herla teased as he carefully waded into the water, shivering only slightly before he made a big splash to try and soak Lumi.

Lumi screeched like the little girl she was and jumped back in an attempt to avade the uncoming spash, only to still get a face full of water. She sputtered like an indignant cat that had just been drenched. "I CAN'T BELEIVE YOU JUST DID THAT!!!" She cried! after all, dry and cold was one thing, her fur could keep that out, but WET and cold, a totally different subject altoghether. Lumi smiled evily as she thought of a few different ways to get back at him. Her guardain for instance sugested a few lines about being wet that might get him to blush, it only rewarded her Guardian by making Lumi and feel EXTREMELY uncomfortable. Instead, she sighed in defeat and waded out to where Heret was, only to get extremely close to him in an attempt to get his uppe body as wet as hers.
"I would have tackled you to the ground if i weren't afraid that you'd drown!"

That really got him laughing and even Lumi splashed him, Heret grinned at her. "It's just water silly." He teased, giving a great shake and sending water droplets flying everywhere. "You act like you'll die cause of it." He continued, wading away from the female.

Lumi pouts and tries to shake the water out of her fur like Heret had done... only resulting in getting her body slightly dry, but leaving her hair and tail still extremely wat... as well as her scarf.
"s**t!"
Lumi let out, rather unexpectedly and rather unlady like, she quickly retreated from the water, splashing madly as she began to unravel the scarf with out running it through the dirt. She ran up to the nearest tree branch she could find and hung the scarf over it. If she'd known how to she would have tried to wring it out, but whenever she attempted doing such she always tore the fabric. She looked a little worried at her sopping wet scarf, she hoped it would dry soon, she wondered momentarilly if it would be dry there, she seriously hoped it would.
Sighing and shaking her head she whipped her tail a few times, expelling the obvious water but leaving it a little damp, she threw it over her body, in an attempt at keeping it out of the water before treading back in, a slightly sour expression on her face.
"Easy for you to say Heret! You're a male, you don't have to worry about how your hair looks!"

Again the herla laughed, splashing around in the water by himself. "You're being silly Lumi. You'll dry, and besides, I'm the only one here besides you and I certaintly don't care about looks." He teased playfully before he bent his head to drink from the stream.

Lumi snorted and flicked water at Herets general direction. "again, easy for you to say... i on the other am QUITE vain!" she giggled and looked down at the water, she didn't really feel thirsty, not yet anyways, but she did think the stones looked rather lovely.

Heret smiled, shaking his head. "Well being vain is silly. Looks aren't really that important. I should know." He flicked his tail and with another shake climbed out of the water. "But if you're really that worried about your fur, feel free to dry off in my place."

Lumi looked up after Heret with a concerned look on her face, not because she wasn't right behind him, making sure he didn't hurt himself, but becuase she was afraid he actually thought she had been serious. She'd only been joking, he knew that... right? She mentally cursed herself and quickly clamored up and out of the water after him, splashing quite a bit of water in the process. She quickly caught up to him and nipped at his neck as if she were reprimanding him for something, and in an unsure voice (quite unusual for Lumi) she said:
"I was just joking Heret, Looks aren't important to me either." she snorted as a thought suddenly entered her mind "If i were we'd have to start calling me Ivy."

Heret jumped as he was nipped then chuckled and gave her a nudge. "I doubt you could ever be as vain as Ivy. But you never know..." The herla trailed off with a teasing smile before he gave another shake and tried to get Lumi more wet. He knew she'd been joking but had still been serious when replying. Looks really weren't important to him, and never had been. Now Balin on the other hand... He had to shake his head as he thought of his brother, an amused smile on his face. Would Balin have approved of and flirted with Lumi? Heret really didn't know.

Lumi chuckled thoughtfully rolling her eyes once or twice for good measure, she squealed and pushed Heret away as he tried to get her wetter. Calling out names like 'jerk' and 'meanie'. When she'd finally run off a few steps and away from Heret, trying to assure that he would no longer pick on her she suddenly became very curious, and began wondering about Heret. She'd told him things about her family, not a lot, but still things. Yet she hardly knew anything about Herets.
"So, Heret, how did you become blind?" she wanted to ask, but she bit her tongue, knowing that it was probably a touchy subject for him.
"so Heret-" she really asked "what's your family like?"

It was a good thing Lumi had not asked what she wanted to, because she wouldn't have gotten a reply. Instead, Heret smiled. "Well, there's my older brother, Balin. He's a really good guy. I'll admit he can be kind of annoying and he likes to rush into some things, but on the other hoof, he's funny, a great leader, and really loyal to his friends. He and I went everywhere together when we were fawns." The herla was grinning now, lost in memories. "And there's my mother. She's really nice too. She's the one who taught me how to paint and the important things in life. She's one of the smartest herla I know and one of the most caring as well. I miss them both, but..." Heret trailed off with a shrug, still smiling as he carefully pretended to forget about his father.

Lumi frowned concern written clearly on her face, she knew that look. She often had that look when she didn't have to deal with others and she began to think about her family. She didn't have to hear him finish the statement, she already knew, he missed his family and he probably wouldn't be able to go back to them for one reason or anouther. So she gave him the excuse that she gave herself every hour of every day. She nuzzled Heret's neck affectionately, comfortingly, and finished the sentence so that they didn't have to be caught in that thing known as awkward silence:
"But the great wide open just sort of called to you right?"
It wasn't so much a statement as a lifeline. She hoped he took it.

Heret smiled, "Something like that." He agreed softly, hanging his head slightly before he forced a smile and nuzzled Lumi back, leaning lightly against her. "You know.... You're the first one that I've met here that I can actually talk to..." He gave another smile, this one more real, and nuzzzled her again. "I'm glad."
