xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.::.Jazlyn Mercy Night.::.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx The Owl "Great." Her face lighted ever so slightly as she followed Sophia upstairs till they were on the ground floor. Her dress made a swishing sound and she suddenly wished she could change, but he'd probably be here quicker than she could change. Jazlyn wasn't sure if the girl liked her, especially after she felt the girl, Sophia, study her closely. Her dark eyes, which had returned to normal, glanced at her own clothing. Had she made a bad impression? Were her clothes too ugly? Usually, she wore dark clothing every day, sometimes a pair of jeans, but usually a long skirt or a dress. It was normal for her, but once she had learned she was going to this school, she had tried finding clothing that normal people wore, though she wasn't quite comfortable yet. What if no one liked her?
The thought dawned on her and hit her hard, making her feel like she might burst into tears. No one really liked her back at home, though she wouldn't quite call the place she came from 'home'. In fact, she'd always thought something was wrong with her because she didn't have any friends. Was she defective? Jazlyn fought the tears that prickled her eyes, and soon calmed down, though she was still miserable. She learned to hide it though, like she always had.
No, it'd be different this time. She'd make friends. Sophia would be her first, and Jazlyn was determined to see it through. "So, what is your name?" she asked in her gently musical voice.

[ The ] road to hell is paved with good i n t e n t i o n s. ♪------●ѕσρнια●ƒαутє●♪ [[ ƒℓσωєя ηαмє∂ αƒтєя уσυ ]]-------------------------Some are destined to succeed. Some are { detirmined } to succeed. [[ Watch my future unfold ]] ʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍ Sophia sighed tiredly. She can't believe she went all the way downstairs only to have to come back up again. Her legs moved letharigically, as though made of wetenned cement as she pulled them up the stairs. Her silvery hair floated up behind her the faster she moved, and the curled tips were frayed slightly. Stupid split ends. Sophia chewed her mint flavored gum as she pressed down on some of them absentmindedly. The girl quickly caught up with her and accompanied her up the rest of the way. The school was quiet. Too quiet. What the hell am I of use here? she thought, running her hands through her hair, pushing it back, I could learn this all on my own. My father needs me wit him...
She let out a hearty sigh. "Hm?" she mumbled, pressing her lips together and cocking an eyebrow as she turned to face the girl, "Oh, Sophia. Sopia Fayte." she said absentmindedly, picking at the edge of her holy sweater. She wished she had something that atleast wasn't holy. Something new and clean and fresh. This sweater was dirty and smelled musty, like a book left forgotten on a shelf. "And you?" she replied indifferently, an automatic motion. Played out. If someone asked you you're name, it was the usual response to ask the same question.
Like, when someone said, 'How are you?' and you would instantly say without a second thought, 'Fine, how are you?'. Even if you weren't fine and you didn't give a damn about how they were. It was all played out. Like a script, like words written down for you and stamped into your conscious so you had no choice but to speak them aloud. It was rather stupid really. Life was too much of a repetition, and Sophia didn't like to be a repetetive person.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.::.Jazlyn Mercy Night.::.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx The Owl Sophia Fayte. Jazlyn blinked and tilted her head slightly as she looked at the girl. She seemed nervous, or on edge. Jaz also noticed that the girl didn't appear that interested when she replied and asked the same question that Jazlyn had. She felt hurt by that, but decided to remain cool. No reason to get upset or anything. Maybe Sophia was just shy... She certainly seemed to be. Jazlyn noted the girl played with her sweater and seemed to be a little angry. Maybe she missed her family? In the vision, Jazlyn had seen a glance of a man who seemed similar to Sophia in appearance, though he seemed sick and bedridden. Jazlyn wanted to ask her if it was her father, but decided not to. She found being blunt and asking questions that she wasn't supposed to really ask often made people upset and dislike her.
She smiled and replied, "My name is Jazlyn Mercy Night.. I'm pleased to make your aquaintence, Sophia." Slowly, she reached out a pale hand as if to shake Sophia's. She hoped she wasn't making a fool of herself, though she kept a cool face. "But you may call me Fate.. or Jaz if you want.." she added quietly.

Brass But I threw you the obvious Just to see if there's more behind the Eyes of a fallen angel Eyes of a tragedy
After a few minutes of indecisiveness, Brass resigned himself to being alone for a little while. Brass gathered up his courage, talking a deep breath, before walking into the good-size building. From his standpoint, he could see a pair of girls coming up from a nearly hidden staircase, a more visible one going up a level next to it. The two seemed to be amiable enough (by Brass's standards, that meant not foaming at the mouth), and they were talking quietly to one another.
This left Brass with a choice - approach them and try to make small talk (which was near impossible for him to do) or pretend to not even see them, explore, and hope they don't notice. That choice was made for him when he nearly ran into a column, cursing loudly as he hit his arm against it. Blushing, Brass noticed he was much closer to the girls. "Er... G'day, mates. Lovely weather, in'nt it?" He nearly choked himself with his tongue as he heard that damnable backwater accent creep up into his speech, but it looked like it was too late. Well, since he's already dug a hole, why not sit in it?

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.::.Jazlyn Mercy Night.::.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx The Owl Jazlyn heard a sort of crashing sound, like someone colliding into wood or stone. Then she heard someone cursing. A male. She turned and smiled once she spotted the guy. He seemed slightly nervous, and his face was a bit flushed. He had an accent that was blackwater or british... or both.. she wasn't that good at accents. In fact, she knew she had one that couldn't be placed. She spoke bits and pieces of several languages, but only because she picked them up here and there. She heard him introduce himself.
She took a step towards him, her dress moving as she did and she felt slightly embarassed. Too late now, though. "My name is Jazlyn.." she replied, reaching out to shake his hand, since Sophia had just stared at her, not really bothering to take her hand.. though maybe she hadn't had much time. Her smile widened just a bit as she added, "Jazlyn Mercy Night.. but you may call me Fate.. or Jaz if you want. It's a pleasure to make your aquaintence,... Brass."
She had been about to call him by his last name, just as she had thought to call Sophia 'Ms. Fayte', though she felt Sophia might not enjoy being called that. Jazlyn had been taught to be respectful and use titles like Miss or Mrs or Mr. Jazlyn found that using first names.. and nicknames for other strangly nice. No one had ever called her 'Jaz', but she thought that it'd be nice for her to start with a nickname now that she was sort of leading a new life... Jazlyn had to be careful though. The reason she had stopped herself from calling him by his last name because it had dawned on her that he hadn't said his last name, so if she said his last name, it might be.. odd.
She turned to Sophia, not sure if she should introduce Brass to the girl, or if she wanted to introduce herself.

Some are { detirmined } to succeed. [[ Watch my future unfold ]] ʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍʍ Jazlyn Mercy Night. An exotic sounding name for an exotic sounding girl. She stared at the girl for a moment, with her black hair and darkly bright eyes. There was something wise about that girl. Something that made Sophia want to show perhaps even an ounce of her rare respect. She paused, licking her lower lip, as if unsure of something. She didn't want to be here. Perhaps that was the only explanation for her sour mood. Her father needed her. ******** elders, she didn't care about them. She didn't trust them. If anyone heard her say, let alone hear she thought it, they'd tan her hide. After all, it was because of the olden days elders that they were still here. Well, Sophia had one thing to say to all of their fake, reassuring words that her father would be alright, 'I don't give a damn." She wanted to scream those words at the top of her lungs. She wanted to throw a fuss and stomp her feet, like a little girl throwing a temper tantrum. She hardly noticed that Jaz was stiking out a hand toward her, and when she finally did, the attention had turned to a new person. A male, this time.
Sophia blinked, as if a newborn, as if a bear in hibernation awakening, as if a wolf opening its tired eyes from a night of running to the early morning sun...Sophia paused. The boy had an accent that made her want to go, Awwwww. She smirked wryly, wonder how that would go over. She almost did it, just to see the reaction. Although, by the looks of it, this boy was older than the both of them. "The name's Sophia Fayte," she mirrored his introduction. "A...pleasure, I'm sure." She never introduced her middle name. It was...it was Yvonne. Who in the hell wanted a name like that?! A delicate sneer curled at her pale lips at the thought. Then she blinked at Jaz, her little nose wiggling. Her father would always laugh at her about it, tell her how she looked like that young lady off of "Bewitched". "Why do you tell everyone that they can call you Fate?" she asked. "I mean, for me, maybe. But it's nowhere in your name...is it? So why? It was the most Sophia had spoken, and she was honestly mildly curious.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.::.Jazlyn Mercy Night.::.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx The Owl Jazlyn fought a smile, but failed and let out a light laugh as Sophia wiggled her nose. She reminded Jazlyn of a rabbit. For a long moment, she forgot everything and felt suprised at how she felt truely funny she found Sophia at that moment. Perhaps she'd been wrong about her being upset. Perhaps she was just nervous or shy as she had guessed before. She remembered that Sophia hadn't been happy before.. and it was obvious she didn't really want to be here, at the school. Maybe Sophia might get used to the idea of being here over time.
Jazlyn's demeneor broke for a moment and she glanced nervously between the two people in the room with her. Her smile was gone now, eyes slightly wide. She felt so unsure about how to answer Sophia's question. There were many ways to answer, but she wasn't sure if it was time for the truth just yet. She knew many things, the names of a few people coming, their animal, and their powers.. at least for a few. She wasn't god. It was just her job in a way to learn these things.. through visions. Now wasn't the time to say so though.. she wasn't even sure if she was allowed.
"Um.. well.." she stuttered, trying to calm herself. "I'm not sure if it's the right time to explain.. at least not right now." She turned her dark eyes to Sophia. "I'm sorry.." She glanced at the grandfather clock and tried to change the subject. "I think the others should be arriving soon. Why don't I take you to your rooms. I need to change anyways.."
((I was wondering.. are they allowed to tell each other their powers?
I was also wondering if it'd be cool if all the characters ate dinner at the same time and they all introduce themselves a bit more... or something.. ^^" ))

Leon A. Phoenix Outside of the campus, near an tree, sat Leon. He was working once more on one of the many letters he had already written Ashley. ...And sign it..There Finished.. He stuffed the letter in an envelope, and after sealing it, placed it in an inside pocket of his coat. He stood up, and peered out. He was seated next to a tree, that was upon an hill over looking the campus. "Well it sure is... something, ah well I think I'll practice." He planned on practicing archery, after he wrote his letters, and walked too a more suitable place. His longbow he carried in one hand, and quiver he placed on his back. Well atleast I could bring some of the things from home. He had decided to use an stump about 150 yards out. After preperation, he drew the bowstring, pulling back the noched arrow. While his eyes of the eagle were not fully developed, he did gain a small advantage from them already. He could see the target cleary, an small hole in the log, burrowed out by an animal or from normal decay he knew not. But he had already checked it too make sure nothing important would be disturbed. His eyes, when in full concentration, seemed too nearly zoom in from his normal view. There! He let fly the arrow, and after an small amount of time, the arrow hit it's mark perfectly. "Hm, there we go." He continued practice for another hour or so, and upon collecting the arrows, began pacing back to campus. Blessed be the lord my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight. --Psalms 144:1

((Yep. But basically, mostly everyone shouldn't know what their animal is, let alone their higher power. But, Jaz was an early bloomer with her visions, so that's fine. But not everyone will get their higher powers that early. And even if they do, they may not realize it. Since they won't know exactly what their animal is until they transform. And transformations happen between the ages of 14-19. But see, if the owl gained her power earlier, obviously she's gonna know what she is, since it's an obvious power.))
