When man first came upon this land, there were the shapeshifters. It was the strangest thing, but certain families are able to transform. Canine, feline, so on and so forth. The change comes naturally one day, as you are blossoming into a young adult, usually inbetween the ages of fourteen to nineteen. Between all these shapeshifting families, there was a war that lasted centuries. They hated each other and attacked each other upon sight. Talk about your cat and dog relationship. Finally, the regular humans had had enough. They decided, all these shapeshifters should be executed. Fearfully, the shapeshifters gathered themselves all together and fled to live remotely. On that day, a treaty was formed. A shaky one, but from it, there flourished a friendship.

Over the centuries, they began to fan out again, seeing as man kind must have forgotten by now. Little did they know the dark times weren't over. Not yet. Anyway, all the elders of the "Clans" as they are now called, invested in a "school", for the new children of this generation to attend. See, not every single family member can transform, only fifteen in all, three from each clan. So, the fifteen of this generation are shipped off to the school, to help with their transformation, and learn how to cope.

Unbeknown to them, there was also another reason. A darkness in the shadows that had bee..."conveniantly" kept from them.

There are five clans. ( That you know of... ) The Woodland, Aqua, Feline, Bird, and Canine. It's the twentieth century my friend, and you've been living a fairly normal life until now. Sure, you know what you are, but you never really expected it to get this ugly. You're being sent to a school, away from civilization. That's right, my furry/feathery friends. This means, no cellphones, no internet, no ipods, no stereo systems...Away from humanity completely! Won't that be exciting?! Oh yeah, a real joy ride. Anyway, it's in Brazil! Heres a few good things. The landscape is beautiful. It's in a nook of mountains (hope there ain't no avalanches), with lush greenery, and if you walk a little farther, a waterfall. On the darker side, it's going to get cold during those winters!

нєяєѕ тнє ¢σσℓ ραят

Ok, so, you're probably thinking to yourself, How the hell do they know I'm one of the shapeshifters of this generation? That's easy! That's because, there's the Owl. Ok, owl. Coooool...

Don't be sarcastic with me, smarty pants! It's very cool! Because each animal has a "Higher Power", and the Owls higher power is foresight. Able to see fuzzy pictures ot the future. Although their visions can be changed, your fate is set in stone!

Canine:Wolf, Dog, Fox.

Feline:Cat, Lion, Tiger.

Bird: Owl, Eagle, Raven.

Aqua: Water snake, Dolphin, Otter.

Woodland: Bunny, deer, Butterfly.

Higher Powers

Canine
Wolf: Agility. To leap great lengths and heights. / xChaotic_Lightx/
Dog: Empathy, to sense others emotions. To subtly shift them. / Open /
Fox: Hypnotism. Can be disrupted, may not necessarily work, depends on concentration. / Open /

Feline
Tiger: Strength. Inhuman strength. No, you can't pick up a bus. But, another person with ease. /Open/
Cat:Sixth Sense. /Open/
Lion: Roar. To scare the enemies into a submissive state. /Open /

Bird
Owl:Foresight. To see the present, or future. They come spontaneously, and can be wrong. /xThe_Twisted_Silencex/
Eagle: Amazing eyesight. May not seem like much, but it comes in handy. Photographic memory. /Lunar Kratos/
Raven: Able to sense dark intentions. (Fights, murderer...). /Yuutousei/

Aqua:
Water Snake: Persuasion. Not like hypnotism, just makes others want to believe them. Intelligence. /Open/
Dolphin: Extended hearing. Sound manip. /Open/
Otter: Camouflage. Can be broken if concentration is broken. Immunity to mind games. /Jr Minty/

Woodland
Rabbit: Cloning. One strong clone, or a few weak ones. /Open/Deer: Slight healing abilities. Minor wounds.
Butterfly: The aura that draws everyone in. Something that makes people want to be around you. / Open/

Keep in mind, your character won't know what animal they are until they transform. And they will transform over TIME. It starts with symptoms, and then they will transform in a burst of a s trong emotion. The first time you transform WILL be dangerous. Your animal instincts will dominate over your humanity.

ʍRead them, learn them, live them, but most of all: Follow them.
ʍI'm not going to tell you I'm God, that's frecking blasmphemy, but I am leader of this thread. Technically.
ʍYou can sense shards whenever you want. But if you want it to be within a demon, discuss it with me first.
ʍViolence and romance are indeed encouraged.
ʍPlease be semi-lit atleast. I want atleast 12 sentences per post. If I see less then 10, you get a warning. 12 sentences isn't that much. I'd actually prefer more sometimes. But, not 15 sentencess of bullshit. Make it interesting to read if you're going to do the minimum. And also, post in third person. And use "for speaking" and for thoughts.
ʍFor OOC, please put in some type of brackets.
ʍ Smallest font is nine, largest is 11. If I see size twelve, I won't be happy.
ʍYou can ******** swear, ******** dibshit, just not every ******** second ******** word. ********.
ʍYou're allowed to have up to 2 characters if you make sure to keep up with them both...
ʍWhen I say literacy, I also mean using damn punctuation and not writing stupid chat words.
ʍAnime pictures only, you real people freaks.
ʍUm, make posts pretty. A picture of your character is necessary, or else. I often get names and such mixed up. And no spamming, or blinding bright colors for text.
ʍDon't join and quite. I'll hunt you down and smite you. If you want to leave, tell me, and tell me why.
ʍNo frecking perfect characters. You can have sad stories, it makes it interesting, but don't expect everyone to all gush over you.
ʍTitle your profiles the name of your animal when sending them to me. Yes, SEND ME PROFILES! Wait to be accepted before posting.
ʍTry to be active. I prefer a few times a day, but I realise we all have lives. Atleast, I do. Just jokes, calm your hormones.
ʍIf you don't post within a week, I send a warning. After that you have twenty-four hours until I delete you, unless you have a good excuse.
ʍ I'd like to keep the genders atleast a little even. I hate it when there's like fifteen girls and three boys.
ʍNo cybering. Keep your virtual part in your virtual pants, sickos.

The thorns on my rose:

Last time I checked I was a:
{ Female }
My life in the flesh:
{ Sophia's mother died during childbirth, but Sophia never thought about it to much. Her father and her were happy. She loved him and only him. During school, she was relatively quiet, only speaking when spoken too. At first, people were infatuated with her "mysterious" attitude and silvery blonde hair. But after a while, they gave up on her because all she did was read. Sophia grew used to bullying, as it came. Teased of being a mute, a deaf, a retard. Sophia would only then open her mouth to retort back. Snarky remarks, sometimes even violence. But her and her father had fun. They would go skiing, skating, horse back riding, and she would expieriment with her cooking. "Remember, Chirp, we have to eat it after!" he'd say, and Sophia would laugh. She took sports, but was too clumsy. So she took piano and singing, and grew good at it. Singing she had a knack for. It was ony six months ago did her father fall ill. She took care of him as well as she could. Doctors wasn't really sure what was wrong with him, he'd just grown weak, and hardly able to take care of himself. So when the elders said it was manditory for her to go to this school, Sophia's temper kicked in. She was absolutely outraged. But in the end, it wasn't her choice. She tried to convince them her father needed her. But in the end, her father convinced her it was necessary, and Sophia grudgingly left. }
Love me, hate me:
{Sophia is self-sufficiend and relatively silent, most of the time. She never really got into the whole 'family bonding' thing with the rest of the canines, and is fine with that. She's frank and honest, and can be horribly pig headed and stubborn as a mule. She also has one helluva temper, and never backs down unless proven wrong. She can be an obnoxious smart alec at times, and sarcasm is her best friend. She likes to be in charge, and has almost a motherly like nature towards others who need help. This is where her kindness comes in. She can't turn away from someone in need, and tears strike a strange chord with her. She is a true friend to those worthy enough to be precious to her, and would do anything, absolutely anything for those she loved. She can actually be rather amiable to those who get to know her, and can open up if you talk to her enough. She likes her privacy, and doesn't really like people who p***k and pry. Atleast not people she doesn't know very well. She's just a stubborn girl who never knows when to back down or give up.}
You can't beat me at this:
{Piano, violin, and, although she's clumsy, she is particularily good at Kendo. Art of the sword. Reall good, actually. She loves horse back riding, and has a thing for all animals. She loves them alot, they're very amiable to her. She especially loves it if they're babies. Kittens, puppies, they warm her heart.}
Don't rub my face in it:
{Sophia is impulsive, and quickly gives into to her first instinct, and acts without thinking. She does what she believes best, without second questions. And this is sometimes not a good thing. She is extremely ticklish. And she cannot swim. She tried when she was ten, by herself because her father was busy. She snuck out of the house and went to the beach. She almost drowned. Ever since then, she's relatively afraid of water past her head.}
The animal within me:
{Wolf}
The music to unlock my heart:
{A Flower Named After You and Song of Truth}
I forgot to add:
{She loves cakes and sweets, and has the classic fear of wasps and spiders. But it's not the usual slight fear, evertime she sees a spider, she is overcome with horrible convulsions, as if just looking at it could kill her. She loves private time, and can often be found gazing at the stars.}

ʍʍʍ { Brass o. Svidrigailov } ʍʍʍ

The voice in my head:
{ Yuutousei }
You could always call me:
{ Brass, Svid }
My favorite color
{ Cadet Blue }
When I look in the mirror:
{ Wanna Play A Game ? }
The thorns on my rose:
{ Seventeen }
Last time I checked I was a:
{ Male }
My life in the flesh:
{ Brass has lived life as normally as he could. And, to him, normal meant 'alone' - he spent most of the last seventeen years removed from everyone and everything, closing off his feelings so he didn't have to deal with anything. You see, Brass lives only with his father. His mother up and went crazy one day, attempting to drown her poor lil' boy of five in the bathtub full of blood - hers. His father, bless his soul, found his wife, slumped over the bath quite dead, and his little boy barely alive. Since then, Brass's anti-social tendencies have been fostered and celebrated by his father, who saw that, by allowing himself to be fooled by another tribe, trust is something too precious to give to anyone. Despite his father's warnings, Brass has (on several occasions) tried to branch out and make friends, but with little results. Whenever someone turns their back to him (and, true to form, everyone really does desert him), Brass let loose his frustration in a variety of medias - pakour, martial arts, and playing really loud music. }
Love me, hate me:
{ Due to his solitary nature, Brass appears standoffish and aloof, and many feel he acts superior towards others, as if he is so much better than them. Brass is, in fact, just a shy, over-conscious little bookworm who has yet to come out of his self-imposed prison. He prefers to stay in the background, but doesn't do well when he's completely alone. Often, Brass stutters when talking and takes no initiative in anything, preferring for others to pull him into whatever's happening.
If Brass allowed himself to just be, many people would see that he's quite a pleasant person. Behind his love for the dark and the occult (blated boy is too big a fan of Poe and Plath and Hemmingway) is a happy child who, if given the chance, would do all that he can to please the people close to him. Thus far, the only one to needle their way through the prison walls has been his father and, in a sense, that man's stuck there too.
It wouldn't be too far off to say that something isn't quite right with his head, as if something just snapped that day twelve years ago, but no one really wants to take a look in his head. When he feels really threatened (such as near water, or when he sees blood or someone tries to push his head down) he lashes out violently, often times having no idea what he's doing. }
You can't beat me at this:
{ Brass is big on music and books - his room is a freakin' library. He's quite good at pianos and a guitar, but he's found his first love in his violin, named Sonya - he's constantly playing Devil's Trill. He's mastering Jeet Kune Do and pakour, and enjoys hang-gliding (a secret pleasure). He's good at intepreting words (namely the written word, but if he listens to people talking, he can easily discern truth from lies), composing music, and doing math problems. }
Don't rub my face in it:
{ If you called Brass's handwriting "chicken scratch" you would be too kind. His writing is horrendous and he's pretty dumb at everything but math. Math, he can do, if only because he sees the similiarites between that and music. His brain seems to be unable to hold anything he deems 'useless' (like history and social interactions). He's prone to spacing out and ignoring people, especially if they're saying something he doesn't want to hear. Also, it is quite often that he just clams up and finds himself unable to talk or breathe - he just freezes, especially when startled or when he's confronted with something new. The boy depends on routines far too much. }
The animal within me:
{ Raven }
The music to unlock my heart:
{ 3 Libras - A Perfect Circle }
I forgot to add:
{ Brass has blond hair and blue eyes that seem to change with his emotions (normally they are a dark shade of blue that look nearly black). He's got dark skin - a kind of bastardized olive-mocha color.
He's afraid of water and blood, but absolutely loves heights. }

{What do you know of destiny?}
The thorns on my rose:
{Almost 16}
Last time I checked I was a:
{Female}
My life in the flesh:
{Jazlyn doesn't quite remember her life before the age of nine. She remembers being isolated and being alone. Her parents are no longer alive and Jazlyn can't quite remember them. Born with a special, yet burdening ability, she was alienated almost all her life. She was taken in by an elder who raised her until she was fifteen. Growing up quiet yet observant, it's apparent that she is very complex. She doesn't really have any friends. She fears the bad things she sees. Sometimes, she's afraid it'll come true and worries if it will or won't. When she turned fifteen, right on her birthday, she saw the death of her foster mother who is also an elder, the one who took her in when she was nine. When it came true, Jazlyn was hysterical and came to the conclusion that it was all her fault. She learned through time that her eyes usually change to yellow when she has a vision, but if the vision is more important or violent, she can have spasms and her eyes might turn silver-white.}
Love me, hate me:
{Jazlyn seems to be a bunch of things. She is usually quiet, obedient, yet observant. She's smarter than ost people might think and quite strong mentally. Not quiet independent, she's used to being by herself usually. Has a big temper and sometimes snaps without meaning to. She is very thoughtful, kind, and will help anyone in need. Tends to be cold at times, especially after having a vision. No one uunderstands her and she doesn't expect them to. She's sort of like an innocent child though her eyes seem haunted.}
You can't beat me at this:
{Reading, singing, playing the piano or violin, art, is pretty good at cooking, and has at least a little knowledge of most hobbies. She's not perfect, but she's close or appears to be at least.}
Don't rub my face in it:
{Jazlyn isn't very.. social. She has trouble getting along with or talking with people. Usually feels inferior or something. Perhaps tries too hard. Also sometimes has control issues.}

The thorns on my rose:

My life in the flesh:
{ His parents were killed in an car wreck, and he was raised by his grandfather, an elder in the clan.
His grandfather thought it best to send him to the new school,
hoping he would learn more of what he was.
In his last school he was very quiet.
Tho they were very wrong, most people hated him, thinking he thought he was better then everyone else.
Of the few people that didn't glare at him, with disdain in their hearts, was his childhood friend, Ashley.
She was one year younger then him, and seemed like his younger sister.
Ashley was nearly the opposite of him, where'as he was quiet, and liked too think things through, she was more of a spur of the moment person.
They made the perfect pair, completing eachother.
He often thinks of her in this new, wilderness school.
And writes too her as much as possible.
She would oft' play her violin, and finally talked Leon into learning an instrument.
He chose too learn the guitar, and has been playing now for several years.
Tho of course he's too shy to play for anyone but, Ashley. }
Love me, hate me:
{ He's very quiet, he's one that at first will keep too himself, but once you get to know him he's friendly, will always help you, and comforting. }
You can't beat me at this:

He's been using an longbow since he was 8 years of age.
He was noted for having a nack for strategy, and loved History.
His grandfather taught him the Asian martial arts: Tai Chi Chuan, and has mastered it with the use of the Jian, an long straight sword often used in practices of Tai Chi. }
Don't rub my face in it:
{ Some people think he needs to be more outspoken.
Ashley was one of the few who did not feel this way, she would kid around about being his talkitive half.
Ashley would often get tired of not only the fact that people would talk down to Leon, but that he would allow it,
stating that he didn't care what they thought of him. }
The animal within me:

The music to unlock my heart:
{ An Clan Sonnet known as Life Returns

The thorns on my rose:

Last time I checked I was a:

My life in the flesh:
{Her father died when she was only a few years old and her mother tried raising Destiny and her sister. Her older brother was already out of the house and didn't have to live with their mother who was a drunk and started to be abusive. Destiny watched as her mother went out with other men, got drunk, and took out everything on her and her sister. She doesn't like to remember this part of her life. Luckily, she was able to get her sister out of that life, though a few years later she died from cancer. Their mother was forced into rehab and now Destiny lives alone, though under the care of an elder. Her oldest brother never helped her and Destiny hates him. When her sister died from cancer, Destiny lost the last person she cared about.

Destiny hates her real name, Desiree which is also her mother's name. She grew up not exactly bullied, but not exactly popular or accepted. In a way, she was an outcast because she prefered sports and boy stuff to girl stuff. But she was soon a little alienated by the boys as well when she grew stronger and better than them. Then, they started calling her names, but never bothered to bully her physicially. They called her Little Miss Freak, etc. Even now they call her names according to her personality behind her back, like Miss Independent and Miss Stubborn. She grew used to it, and in a way that was how she became so defensive and angry.}

Love me, hate me:
{Her personality is quite similar to a tigress, or so many have told her. She always craves to be free and to live life to the fullest. She takes risks without really thinking things through. Impulsive. Very passionate about her beliefs and is not afraid to show it. Stubborn, strong-willed, and like a fire. Not afraid to express herself. She has a really bad temper, and is a bit like a tomboy. Quick to ditrust and defensive. Speaks her mind and can be very troublesome. She has a good heart and knows when to behave. To finish it all up, she's loyal and strong, as well as independent. She's slow to apologize and hates to be made a fool of. Don't expect her to ask for help.}
You can't beat me at this:

She's a really good person, deep deep inside and means well. Sort of has a dislike of boys, and is sort of shy, though you wouldn't think so. Mostly, she's also working to become a bit more feminine and gentle, though its very tough.}
The animal within me:
{The Tiger}
The music to unlock my heart:
{Little Miss Independent & Unbreakable}
I forgot to add:
{Destiny isn't quite as strong as most might think. Also, she always wears a silver moon on a leather choker.}

My favorite color
{ Dodgerblue }
When I look in the mirror:
{ The Reflection }
The thorns on my rose:
{ Fifteen }
Last time I checked I was a:
{ Male }
My life in the flesh:
{ Ace always hated the idea of duty and responsibility. In fact, the whole concept of the clan and the separation from his regular life was extremely irritating. He never felt any loyalty towards this 'clan', nor did he really care about his ancestors. He preferred the way mankind was shaping a normal society, making things easier for itself, and creating luxuries of every kind. Then he was told he was leaving for Brazil, to study his nature and past with a bunch of kids he hardly even knew, save for the two others in his clan.

So naturally, he tried to escape. Run away from his fate, the elder had said when they finally caught him. His parents had been ashamed, not that they had ever cared much about him. He was the oldest of eight children, and hardly ever saw them. To ensure that he wouldn't try to run again, he was promptly sent to Brazil, and here we are.
}
Love me, hate me:
{ Ace is one of those kinds of guys that stands out. He's loud, rebellious, occasionally obnoxious, and extremely determined. If he has a goal, there's no stopping him until he achieves it, which is where his stubborn side comes in as well.
Usually, he's very amiable, providing people don't have a stick up their arse or a stuck-up kind of personality. He hates people who brag about themselves, they all deserve a smack upside the head. Other than that, he's fun to be around, just remember, if you piss this kid off, you better run.
}
You can't beat me at this:
{ Ace is an amazing swimmer. Never before has he met a single person who has beaten his record, and has only been out-swam once, by his sister. He secretly likes cooking, and believe it or not, he's pretty good at it too. With his personality, he's been in plenty of fights, so he's no beginner at that either. }
Don't rub my face in it:
{ Ace has zero tolerance for authority. Even the slightest rule makes him feel confined and in the mood for being defiant. A lot of people get annoyed about this, and some try to avoid him because of it. Not that he cares. }

"Dad..." she whispered, clenching his hand. Her lower lip trembled. This was one of those rare times she allowed herself to cry and be sad. Usually, when she was around her dad, she was more like a son. Rough, tough, joking. But now...Oh...He coughed weakly, and she winced. His pain was connected to her's. His pain was her pain. "Dad...you need me here. To take care of you!" He smiled weakly, his lips twisting so it was more like a grimace. "Aw, Chirp, I'll be fine." he replied, sitting up in bed. She choke on a ragged sob, and embraced him, her silvery hair floating...

"Sophia!" Sophia Fayte looked up, but said nothing. She scratched at the crevice of her nose, her lavender-blue hues staring desolately out the window. The person giving her a ride was not her father. Her father was bed ridden. So there was really no need to speak to him. But he was desperate. He huffed and he puffed but he didn't blow anything down. Haha. What?" Sophia snapped tiredly, glaring at him, pushing back her strands of ashy blonde locks. She sighed tiredly, pressing her forehead against the window. The elder, whose name escaped her, sighed tiredly, and was silent. The car rolled down the cobblestone pathway. She looked out, eyes widening. The school, Chiroscuro Acadamy. It looked more like a medieval castle then anything. Large, towering...intimidating. Sophia swallowed down her nerves. The greenery and scenery was beautiful. It made Sophia want to write poetry. Yes, she loved to write poetry. She closed her eyes, and the car slowly rolled to a stop at the large gates. Would there be indoor plumbing...? Oh, yes. They had electricity, they just didn't have any connection to the world outside. What a dump. The sun was shining, but Sophia didn't trust it. The news forcast said chance of later showers.

Elder swallowed. "Sophia...please behave." Was that was he was trying to tell her? Sophia snorted. Her face didn't look like something that could be annoyed. It looked like something that should always be smiling. She snorted, silent as she opened the door. Her eyes glittered with mirth as she stepped out. "No promises." And then she was gone, slamming the door, dragging her poor quality suit case behind her. Her father coudln't work, and they lived in an apartment that may or may not have coakroaches. She had juggled three jobs to keep them going. The elders had assured her they would take care of her father's expenses. But..but what about his dinner? And, what about the way she would tuck him in at night when she knew he was sleeping. Or fix his covers when he was sleeping fitfully. Or how she would go to the grocery store and fetch him his favorite snacks? Or put his medicine on the table he could reach, so he wouldn't have to stand? Or, perhaps, the way they would talk and play chess. Or how she would help him go for walks, so he didn't get sick of being in his room all the time...

Her eyes watered, who would be there to do that, huh? Who?! she demanded to the world around her, a broken mangled cry in her mind, Who?! The world didn't answer. The world just trembled as a wind tossed and trembled through the mountains and her trees. It took her hair with its cool fingers and pushed it off of her face. She sighed, and ajusted her sweater. It was holy. Sophia didn't have enough money for nice things. She had to use all the money she had for her father and school. Her shoes were white, dirty, and beaten up. Her jeans had one hole in the knee. Though that had been her call. She'd fallen, and had ripped her jeans, as well as her skin. Her black sweater was oversized and ugly. Atleast it was comfortable. She dragged her beat up suitcase up the steps, opening the door. Her first stop would be to go to the administration office to get her dorm room, where she would get her assignment. She looked around. Where the hell was the administration office...there was a wooden board, and in it was engraved...oh. There it was. The marble floor squeaked beneath her shoes. Taking a deep breath, she wrapped her pale hand around the door handle and pushed it open, as if expecting a completely different world on the other side.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx The Owl

"You are special. You can see what is and what will come. The present and the future. The past will be nearly impossible for you. Remember. You have no control. You are meerly a messanger. If you see anything important, write it down but don't tell anyone unless you feel it's right. Be careful Jazlyn. Be very careful..."

All was silent in the school that was now the home of 15 teens, a mix of females and males, each unique in their own way. Though not many had arrived at all, everything was ready for them. Already several rooms were lit and ready to be used. Having already taken a tour or walk around the house, the young girl knew the school almost like she had been here all her life. That was what she did, study everything and understand it as best she could. It was important to do so, so that she wouldn't get lost or feel stupid. Knowing gave her confidence and peace. Dressed in a simple black dress that had long sleeves but left her shoulders bare, and a cloak/ shawls that was hid her midnight-black hair like a veil. She now had made her way to the music rooms after stopping in the library to search for books that might intrest her. She had found there were many that caught her eye and she couldn't wait to sit down and read, but they'd be here soon. Her schoolmates.

Standing infront of a deep black grande piano, she felt memories pass through her mind of when she had played a piano similar to this one for her guardian. Music always comforted her and she found she was good at it. Slowly, she took a seat on the piano bench and skimmed her fingers softly across the keys. Then, she took a deep, calm breath before sound erupted from the instrument. The music echoed through the building, through the halls and rooms. Perhaps because she'd left the doors open. Her pale fingers flew across the black and white keys, playing an old melody that she liked. Jazlyn had always enjoyed playing the piano, more than the violin, and always looked for a new song to play. This one was a soft melody that she wished had some lyrics so she could sing. She played slowly, then sped up ever so slightly as she crescendoed. The music took control of her, just like her power did.

Just like that, in the midst of her performance, she was blind for a moment, though she didn't stop. No, she'd memorized this song, and over time, had learned to at least have a fraction of control over her reaction to when she saw something. In her mind, she thought she heard the sound of a door opening, and then she could 'see' it. A silver-blond girl who was at least a year older than her. Her name was.. Sophia.. Sophia Fayte. Jazlyn would still ask her name later though, for the sake of manners. Already, Jazlyn could feel the vision start to dim, and though she could not see her reflection, she knew her eyes which stared at nothing really, were slowly turning from an eerie yellow to a calm, yet chilling black-silver. She still continued to play, as if nothing had happened, though something had. She was sure the girl, Sophia, could hear her playing. Perhaps she should go and greet her. Once she was done.

User ImageSophia stepped in tentatively. She shifted, her suitcase suddenly felt like a burden. She took a few hesitant steps to the desk. Hesitance...not her strong suit. She was used to being blunt and clear. But in an unfamiliar place with strange people...Sophia just wasn't sure. Don't be a sissy, Sophia, it's just a school! Yes, a school indeed. But not a normal one. This one would look at some academic skills, but mostly in would ready them for the transformation. Sophia licked her lower lip, and then coughed loudly, and deliberately into her hand...The receptionist didn't even look up. Her eyes were brown and bug-eyed behind her triangle glasses. Sophia coughed again. The bug-eyed lady wrote down something on her paper. Sophia rattled her fingers on the desk. The woman revolved her large eyes to look into Sophia's lavender ones. "Thank you, Sophia said, huffily. Yes, she was definitely annoyed today. "I'd like my dorm room please. And, I'm assuming, since this overly large acadamy only has fifteen students, we'll all have the same schedule?" Bug-eye simply nodded.

She shuffled around for a bit of paper, and the instant Sophia looked at it, she realised it would be more of freelance classes. "Flexible school hours"..? What the hell was that supposed to mean? She sighed. Dorm room twenty-four. Four was the number of safety and sanctuary. Two was a pair. Hm. She would probably have someone to bunk with, obviously. Seeing as the dorms were only on one floor. She sighed heavily, pushing at her hair before walking out of the room. This school was huge! Kind of reminded her of Hogwarts. It was very "Harry Potter", (though Sophia preferred Harry Pothead, an inside joke). It had large ceilings that loomed and gloomed, with big and wide mahogany doorways.

Her footsteps echoed dully across the floor that seemed to glimmer and tremble like flickering waters. She had to admit, it was really beautiful. Coming down the hall ways, she vaguely heard music. She closed her eyes. Whoever was playing was good. She knew that song. She'd played it before. Her eyes opened, but she let her ears follow the sound. Turn a few corners here..go down a few stairs here...and then she was at the basement. She nibbled her lower lip. The music was louder now, crashing and lovely. She didn't dare interrupt someone while playing piano. Whenever she was interrupted, she had a cow. She silently approached, more like a feline than a canine, and she leaned against the doorway.

The girl playing seemed to be a little younger than her. Sophia herself had only turned sixteen four months ago. And she was good. She simply leaned against the door way, her hair cascading over her shoulder, fluttering slightly from unseen drafts. She patted at it absentmindedly.

{{Yurima's pretty good. But I can actually play his songs on the piano, you should hear Jason!. Wildest, best piano player I've ever seen! He can play with his feet, his head, his butt! It's amazing! xD This guy is my idle! ...Decided I would just show him randomely, cuz listening to Bella's lullaby made me think about music. }}

Brass
But I threw you the obvious
Just to see if there's more behind the
Eyes of a fallen angel
Eyes of a tragedy

There was something unnerving about being told that you must leave all your electronics behind and be shipped off to some other school.
Personally, Brass didn't care (he had stuffed a bunch of cassettes and an old-style Walkman into his bag when his father was not looking) because he, at the least, got to bring Sonya, which was a small consolation. If someone had told Brass he would be going to some exclusive school somewhere a week ago, Brass would have laughed and merely shook his head, seeing it as a bad joke. That was exactly what happened when his father had mentioned it, and Brass ended up getting shoved into a closet for about three hours while his father fumed.

That was a week ago and now Brass was staring at the campus, if one could call it that. It was large, yes, but there pretty much seemed to be only one main building and it wasn't all that big. A shudder ran up his spine as he thought about being here, all alone. Sure, there were other students, but no one that Brass was likely to know. That, added with the fact that he was going to have to get used to a different schedule again that might actually have gym was putting unneeded stress on the boy, and he could all ready feel himself getting light headed at the mere thought. He needed to compose himself, not show anyone any sort of weakness at all. "Keep clam, keep going; keep calm, keep going." he repeated to himself like a mantra. He took the first step onto the campus proper, looking around. It might have been deserted, or maybe he just needed glasses - he has been, for the last few years, ignoring his doctor's warnings, he can read so his eyesight was fine. So far, though, no one else seemed to be around. Music drifted about, but it was faint and he could not really tell if it was someone playing or his own imagination.

[/Open ended 'cause I'm drawing blanks right now ^_^;
And does anyone else notice a lot of our characters aren't that social o.o I just browsed through 'em.

Rule One: Don't say what you just saw, especially if you meet that person for the first time. It might scare them, and it could be dangerous...

While she had continued playing, she had registered the sound of footsteps. Already, she had a good idea who it was, though she didn't turn to confirm her suspicions. Instead, she closed her eyes and playing, drowning her mind in the music until she came near the end. Then she started to slow down, the song quieting until it was nothing but a whisper. Then, it was done. She was still for a moment until she only heard silence, then she rested her hands in her lap before gracefully standing up. When she turned slowly, she wasn't the least bit suprised to find the girl she'd seen in her vision, with long wavy hair and a set of blue eyes. Jazlyn's own dark eyes blinked calmly, knowing her expression was one she usually always wore, a serene almost expressionless look that sometimes unnerved people. Perhaps she should work on it a bit, later though. Glancing at the girl, she felt a bit uneasy. Jazlyn should have probably changed before exploring the school grounds. Things were different here, and though she looked like she'd never worn a pair or shorts or jeans, she had enough pairs of jeans to last for a while.

Hoping not to unnerve the girl, she smiled after a moment. Her smile, once descrived by her guardian, was angelic and polite, though she was always told that her smile was better when she was actually happy. Apparently, her smile was brighter and nicer when she felt happy. Now wasn't the time to think of it though. She had her hands folded infront of her and she gently said,"Hello..."

Suddenly, she felt it happening again and she almost groaned, but didn't. Instead, she felt the change take over her as her eyes slowly shifted to yellow, like an owls or a cats. Her vision was black for a moment. Then, she saw a boy. Already, she knew who he was because his name echoed in her mind. Brass o. Svidrigailov. He'd just arrived. Good. Giving a small apologetic look, she said,"I'm sorry, but I think I'd be better if we moved upstairs. It's rather chilly down here.. and I think someone's just arrived." She smiled again, hoping the girl would agree. "If you don't mind that is."

User Image Sophia didn't say anything as the girl played. She just enjoyed listening to the music. Divine. She should know, she's only been playing since she was three. Catch the sarcastic bit, there? When the music came to a stop, the serene attitude inside of Sophia shattered. It was like she had been in a trance and the trance had been broken. Once the dark-haired musician finally stood up, Sophia blinked as the girl said hello. She looked like something straight from a vampiric novel. Nice. "Uh...hey." Sophia replied uneasily. There was another silence. During in which, she pulled out a pack of gum and the crackling of tinfoil echoed in the otherwise silent room. She stuffed the piece in her mouth and nibbled around the hard edges before finally taking a bite. She chewed thoughtfully, simply scrutinizing the girl before her. It took her a moment to realise that the dark-haired girl had spoken.

She vaguely noticed the shifting color of her eyes. What animal did that? Sophia couldn't think of it, so she was simply left in the dark. Oh well, the girl herself may not know what animal she was. You usually didn't find out 'till yer higher power kicked in. "Oh..I didn't really notice," her voice was light and feathery, very uncharacteristic to her bold, fiery, yet queit persona, "Yeah, I suppose that would be best.." Not that Sophia exactly wanted to meet anyone. She'd sooner curl up with a book. Or take a little dog nap. Haha, get it, dog nap? Since she was a canine, not a feline..no..Hah...She shook her head once, a wistful smile on her face for her own strange thoughts.

So, she turned and started off down the hall. Why bother waiting for the other girl? Sophia didn't know her. Although, her footsteps were slow, as if somewhere in her subconscious she knew waiting would be the right thing to do. Her dirtied runners probably weren't the best thing for the floor, was what Sophia thought, as she looked down at them vaguely, as if not really comprehending. She was a dreamer, she always had been, always would be. Thinking of the wrong things and the wrong times.
