Now it was Rake's turn to do it. He stood at the beginning just next to Johnny as both of them moved slowly like the waves. It all moved good while it was slow. Rake kept it p and for each thrust he became beter at it. Full force into the thrust and then back to the stance. Yet then Johnny increased his power and speed. Rake wasn't able to keep up in the start but as Johnny stopped Rake was giving away Thrust after Thrust. Every thrust increased it's power and soon they where complete. The heavy blade thrusts into the air like a shark. Attacking over and over again. Nothing would be able to stop it. A royal feeling, maybe the quick taste of the pirate life.

As Johnny and Rake was done Yosaku came around. Yet he came from the sky with an attack towards Johnny. A game between them but Rake was very impressed by the show. He asked Yosaku very politely if he could continue Rake's teachings into being a swordsman. Yosaku looked at Johnny and as Johnny said that he had nothing more to teach Rake then Yosaku accepted over the same term, a treat of food. Now it was all time to start working on the new techniques that Yosaku held in store.

Yosaku begun on telling Rake that the secret was jumping high. One had to be able to jump incredible high to get the power of an air attack just right. ake had to have great strength to jump high with his sword. First of they where to learn the basics with no weapons. Jumping and landing was to big aspects of battle. It was great at see jumping from boat to boat. First of was landing for it was more important getting down safely then getting up. They begun on working on a platform with an old wagon. Then Rake and Yosaku stood on the platform and was ready to jump down.

Yosaku and Rake jumped down and Yosaku landed on his feet and Rake had to catch himself with his hands. Landing had a big force and to learn how to do all correct could be long. Yosaku told Rake what he did wrong and soon they where at it again and again. Soon Rake begun t jump into the air and his landing got better and better. He soon reached heights as Yosaku. After all he had been living under the eye of a pirate and trained to become much like his grandfather. His reason he could wield his blade form start. It wasn't his first huge thing he had held within his hands.

Rake begun to be able to jump and land as Yosaku was pleased, well he said he was pleased after all. Yet soemthing felt that these two wasn't really the big shots they told they where. Yet they where a fun bunch to be around. Rake took his sword and placed it in his hands. Now he would practise landings with the sword in hand. Later he would fix the jumping and aerial attack with it and in time he would be mastering this as well. His grandfather had told him that Rake would pass the impossible and make it possible. Nothing would take that away form Rake.

It was hard to get the landing done. The weight of the blade increased the falling and he had to get that fixed before he could even hope of landing the attack. This was the most basic air attack. If Rake couldn't use this then he would be useless over the seas. One needed to jump around when one boarded the ships. This attack was also a great basic for surprise attacks. Rake had understood that he needed to technique and he would master it. He just needed some time. It was very hard to get it going. He was also new the the whole idea of fighting while jumping from a ramp.

With time and with trying Rake was able to get to his feet. It wasn't looking good and didn't have the height Yosaku had but it was something. Jumping from a roof or a building with a sword wasn't impossible for him. The weight of his blade started to assist him and he was able to wield the blade while being in the air. While jumping of the ramp he begun to swing his blade forward. As Yosaku noticed it himself then he helped Rake move better. He gave him tips on how to increase his ability to attack. How to place his sword while being in mid air.

After enough practise Johnny had built a tower of crates. A very high tower indeed. His mission to Rake was to cut them with the ability Yosaku had shown earlier. Yosaku also seemed to believe that it was time to try it out. Rake started to climb but was told not to climb the ramp again. Rake didn't but started to walk away. After a while he stopped and turned. He grabbed his blade and started to run and soon he had enough speed and was just close enough. He jumped high into the air and spun around in mid air before he unleashed the 1 Sword Slicer attack at the tower of crates.

Rake was quite happy when he was able to use the slicer attack for it would really prove useful with time. Yosaku and Johnny asked Rake why he wanted to be a swordsman in the first place. Rake looked at both men and smiled towards them. "Well you see that my grandfather have the first generation Sharp b*****d Sword. He is the reason that I wanted to go the same way. He was a great inspiration when I was young and he still is." Rake told both the bounty hunters. He knew who they where so he wouldn't tell them that his grandfather was "'Ol' b*****d" Cane, a pirate of the seas. Neither tell them that he himself wanted to be a pirate. Yosaku told him that there was one thing more that Rake could learn from him before he would leave them.

Yosaku asked if they should spar just to get warmed up into the last attack that Yosaku would show Rake. Rake nodded and grabbed his sword. He felt it for the first time with a whole new set of eyes. The blade spoke to him and Rake answered back. He had entered the way of the sword. Now was time to put it on the test but with a relaxed feeling of a spar. It was indeed a good way to start. The blades moved towards each other and the metallic sound. Yosaku indeed was fast but each hit from Rake was so much heavier. Rake held Yosaku away from getting to close. Using his advantage in reach then in skill.

A cat was lying on a roof top. The warm sun was pleasant for once and this cat would spend the entire day sunbathing f she could choose. Being a cat, one had the luxury of choice. Yet there was this incredible annoying steel against steel sound. The dance between Rake and Yosaku had increased in speed and power. The balance was a bit broken since it was just a spar but for those who weren't swordsmen this could much look like a battle to the death. Both men swung their blades with full force and both blades almost cut the opponent every time. If one would stand in the way, that person would be cut down and dead before blinking. Both men had accepted the other and move din turns even if they moved at the same time. They waited for the other to move and would then block it. The it was the other ones turn to attack.

Yet the main difference int he dance was Yosaku's ability to dodge even if he had spun around and showed Rake his back. Yosaku's blade always stopped any played attack from Rake. Not to mention that Yosaku dodged behind his back. Almost as if he knew where Rake would go with his blade. One could believe that it was magic indeed and nothing to be done. Yet it wasn't even close to that. This was the difference in technique between both men. Yosaku still had somehting up his sleeve and the more they fought the more Yosaku blocked and attacked Rake, when Rake was behind Yosaku. Rake found one opening after the other and after a marked hit then they started over. Both men was getting in hit's but it felt as if Yosaku was showing Rake something.

Rake jumped over Yosaku's head and attacked with the 1 sword slicer technique. It missed by the string of a hair. Yet Rake was marked by Yosaku and the funny part is that Rake had been behind Yosaku. Rake tried to blow the blade away while having his back to Yosaku but that didn't work. It missed mesarably and left Rake open for another mark of Yosaku. This was getting a bit annoying, how Yosaku could attack without looking. Soon he would have to say how he managed to do that.

Rake saw Yosaku smiled after a successful attack behind him was followed up by a failure swing of a friends rage. It was not meant to kill but wanted to his Yosaku's blade from behind. Rake was finding himself in a strange position indeed. For that Yosaku wanted to show him and teach how one attacked without looking, was clear. Yet how in the hell would he do it like this. They continued face to face and now they became more even in their little dance. Steel against steel and it was clear that his new b*****d sword was of top quality for it was really a great sword. Not even a single buckle on the edge. It was really a massive statue of metallurgy skill. A blacksmiths master piece or proof of great skill. Nothing would ever break this sword.

Now it seemed as if their little spar would end. Both where breathing heavy and had several small cuts, somethign that no on could ever be without. Rake was thinking on how he never could defeat his grandpa with his stick sword when he was young. Nothing that he ever did could defeat the old man. He attacked from a haystack and with fierce look in his eyes he accepted the challenge of a young boy. Even with an old man's strength he was skilled enough to defeat him. No matter how he attacked or when eh attacked the old man had strength and skill to defeat his grandson. He always did with a smile and for each attempt should continue he always gave the boy a treat upon defeat and a way to train his body. Like that the old man stayed in shape and his grandson would have a very strong body as an adult. Now he would conquer another way of fighting as well.
