Oh oh oh!! You sound so deliciously metal Skully! biggrin I love it!! Hehe.

I am sorry again for the delay in my reply, I took the train back last night from Chicago and getting on the net was very spotty and anyhow I was bummed because I am actually pretty sure I blew the test. It's ok, I have 3 years to pass it, but I really wanted to pass on my first go-round. Well, I will know for sure in 2 weeks, but unfortunately I could not answer most of the questions so it wasn't good.

I am trying to visualize those pants with loads of chains. Ah, when I was young (true...I am getting too old now for that type of outfit), I use to have a lovely pair of pants like leggings really with chains looped down the sides...so awesome to wear with a pair of high black boots with like 10 buckles. *sighs* I long for those days again. But I had my time in the sun. Of course I was much more goth than metal, goth with a tad of industrial. I still love the music but now I am more matronly.

So I can live vicariously in you, it just sounds like a lot of fun and I do believe in having fun (and being safe too) but what is life without doing things, experiencing things?

Sorry to hear about the test Uma, I hope it's just post-exam anxiety and that you've actually done fine.

Heh, it's an honour to be lived through vicariously by yourself Uma. razz

As for my fashion, well, it's odd really. My shirts are either punk bands or metal bands, the padlock is decidedly punk, the goat is gothic and the trousers are industrial originally, but made more metal by my chains. So, while to the untrained eye it all looks like the same sort of thing, my clothing comes from many different areas. It all just seems to work though, it doesn't look like a mis-match or anything, which is good.

As for being able to visualise it, I know I've never actually shown anybody here what I look like, but I think its long overdue I changed that. I'll get somebody to take a few photographs if you'd like, as all the ones I currently have are naff?

You have forgotten my dear, you did post some piccies a while ago. I forget...I am sure it was in this guild and not at the Gates. I remember you clearly. You were not very metal!! lol

I adore the goth look though, I have to say. I mean, I don't much care if a person is pale or midnight of skin (I am tan), but I love the deep black, the aesthetic, the beauty of the night. I understand why you take some aspects of all of these genres and make it your own...something singular!

Heh, people used to ask me if I was into industrial because I used to dress in black cargo pants, black top, and wore a studded belt. My love of color (especially red) was revived when I started knitting though. It helped me appreciate the beauty of color more, and knitting with one color and one color only kinda sucks, lol.

Wow, loving the sound of your dress senses you two.

I just looked back through the entirety of this forum's posts by the way, and I found one picture, of me, in a toga. The link doesn't work anymore now though, hurray!

I have grown up so much in the past couple of years though it seems, I look back over a lot of my posts and they make me cringe with my immaturity. I am so glad I've changed from back then. Skully 2.0 is not amused at Skully 1.0.

Anyway, I'm still gonna get some pictures done; I need some good pictures of myself anyway, I look awful in all my current ones.

Black and red are such powerful colors! I wear them both actually. Sometimes I wear them at the same time. Other times I pair the red with something brown sugary colored and the black I might wear purple with as I did today. Deep purple and black with silver jewelry.

Knitting must allow you to delve deep into colors though. I would love to create something like that, you are lucky you have both the artistic talent and the inclination or drive to create like that. I can put colors together (like for my avatar) but I can't make things. No talent, no drive to do it.

Haha, the toga piccie, that is indeed the one that I remember! Well, take your time and get a great pic that you can be proud of to post.

It's all good, I have a photographer friend who I've asked to take a couple of pictures of me. He's really good, so he'll hopefully make me look halfway presentable, which is a mean feat.

thanks Uma. What I really enjoy about knitting with color is the the way the colors play into each other. I find it fascinating the way certain colors complement and contrast with others. I go on and on about it too, heh. I'm sure if you gave it a try you could do something with it though; it took me a while to figure things out and get to where I am now.

Well...no time for knitting! But maybe I could find something creative to do. I just have so much on my plate though. But I love looking at quilts, there is this one place with the most amazing (and expensive) quilts. I have bought 2 of them. I will show you later. But I wish I could do that if anything. Still...I think I would get bored not being on the net or something.

Girls? Hmm.....not especially. There is one I sort of have my eye on, but she's introverted and its hard to tell whether she likes me or not.

I don't really have any significant action going on, which sucks, but seeing as I've tended to meet girls in the past by pure chance, I'm not exactly that down about it. I just go with the flow; if I meet someone, then yay, if not, then oh well, it's bound to happen eventually, if past experience is anything to go on.

That's about how I met Willowbark. I wasn't out to try to meet girls. I'm about as introverted and socially avoidant as one can probably get. I originally went to a goth bar because they played music I liked and it was about the only place I felt comfortable going that wasn't home or work. After a couple weeks, I met Willowbark by chance as someone I used to work with recognized me and introduced us.

So yeah. We met at a goth bar/meet. Too bad the place shut down now...

Going with the flow really worked out for me. If you go out hunting, you're probably going to look desperate and girls will probably avoid you anyways. Best thing to do, in my opinion, is just hang out at places you enjoy and things seem to go on their own.

As for the talk of clothing early, I haven't changed much in that regard myself, hahaha. I still wear black slacks with a silver pocket watch with pocket chain, black shirt and black work boots. I'd still wear gloves if I could find a good pair. Still have my full length leather trench that I love to wear.

Some things just never change.

Thanks for the advice Zedd, that is what seems to work.

As for the clothing, that sounds incredibly stylish, love it!

Cool, I think that is a great attitude about it. Introverted girls can be difficult to read, I agree.
