“Not long,” she replied, but then a smile spread upon her face, “I chased off the horse eating bunnies earlier, so no worries.” She winked at him. Her throat felt much better, it wasn’t anywhere near how it had been. It used to be a constant pain, now it was only late at night and it didn’t hurt as bad. She was hoping in few months that it wouldn’t hurt at all. It would be but a dream. She looked at the dark male, his mumblings had amused her. She thought it was kind of funny, of all things to be scared of or to have nightmares of…bunnies.
“If you want we can either eat first before we go or eat when we get there, either way is fine for me.” She wanted to be a polite tour guide/escort. Therefore she would let him make most of the decisions on what he wanted to do, either way she would be getting to the location she needed and he would be getting to see the mountains and attempting to find…well whatever or whomever he was looking for. Her bright lavender eyes watched him for the deciding factors.

She heard that? How embarrassing. Lucky for him he didn't blush nor did he have the ability to. But he knew it was in good fun, the teasing. Though it didn't lessen any embarrassment he did feel inwardly. What kind of stallion was afraid of bunnies? They were meant to be thought of as cute and sweet critters, not like what he made them out to be. But appearances could be deceiving, never judge someone merely by how they looked, you may be surprised.
"They are rather scary." He grinned toothily at her. "With their sharp and pointy teeth. They're quick too, all of a sudden you're turned away and then.....GOTCHA!" Lex laughed. Yeah, they were nasty critters indeed. Lex assumed when he was a foal he must of done something or experienced something that involved a bunny. How else would this fear have begun? "Tricky too." He mumbled this to himself. Yes. That must be it. He got tricked as a foal. By a bunny. Darn bunnies.

It was good to hear Raina speaking again. Wait. Raina was speaking again! Lex hadn't realized it. Well, of course he knew Raina was talking to him but he hadn't thought on it. "You're all better then?" He was relieved by it, if she was indeed feeling better. Lex worried about it, when he learned of her condition. He never experienced such a condition. Sure, his voice grew sore and tender as a foal when he shouted or yelled a lot but he was still able to talk, his voice just came out raspy. But Raina couldn't talk for long periods of time, Lex wondered if something may of happened when she was younger or if she was born with it. He wouldn't ask though, even if he was terribly curious. They hadn't known each other for long and it was Raina's choice. Just like it was his choice not to reveal his intentions of going to the mountains.

At the sound of eat, his stomach rumbled. Loudly. Lex bowed his head sheepishly. "My stomach thinks we should eat first but if you would rather wait for a little longer, I'm sure I can wait it out." Raina did say either way was fine with her so they could eat but Lex wasn't sure if Raina was hungry also. Eating by himself when there was someone else around didn't sound remotely fun. Nor was being watched while eating. It was strange but Lex felt uncomfortable when someone watched him eat.

Lex seemed to be growing on the distant mare, so far she hadn't made any true friends and had no real family. Her relationship with her mother was repairing after she had a long conversation with her that she wasn't helpless and she could make do on her own. It was nice to have company from another. She made no other comment on the bunnies, she knew what it was like to have true fear. At least he could joke about it.
She couldn't help but laugh softly at his impression of the nightmare bunnies. "This is true they are quite fast."

Raina had her the growl of his stomach but made no comment of it, "We can eat...I'm feeling a bit hungry myself." Truth be told she wasn't that hungry but she knew what it was like to run on an empty stomach. Plus it gave her something to do at least.

The girl didn't have know that he was curious about her voice issues. She had never really talked about it before...no one really asked so she never talked about it. The only time it was brought up when her parents got frustrated at her to demand to know why she didn't work. Yes, Anemone was the perfect one. Already having kids and all. She didn't want to do that. She would prefer to be settled then running off with random ones. Well thats what she got out of the situation. She hadn't seen her nor her father and she didn't give a damn, frankly if she did. They were never all that close, it was better to forget sometimes.

The grey mare moved to grazed and forage for the little berries that were scattered across the ground as well as anything else she could find. The mixture was that of a fruit salad and boy...she thought it tasted delicious.

Great! He was very hungry but he would of waited if Raina had wanted to leave. Lex was glad she was hungry also. He went over to what he considered a nice patch of grass and began to eat. After a few minutes of this he looked over at Raina, to see what she was eating. Berries, perhaps he could find some later along the way for a snack or even for lunch would be good. He turned away and went back to eating his grass.
The mountains were so close. Lex couldn't wait to reach them, to see what they had to offer. He wondered what he would find up there or if he'd find information or even her. Though he still wanted to meet her again sometimes he wasn't sure that was really what he wanted. Some days he thought of home and he yearned for it while other days he was pumped to get up in the morning and travel to new locations he could only dream about when he was a colt. He supposed he was lonely, he didn't always meet someone in his travels. But Lex couldn't imagine going back with his lion's tail inbetween his legs until he was absolutely sure. He wanted to see if he could do this, complete it. And so far he was surviving so he must be doing something right! He chuckled.

But he did wonder what his home was like now. He had been gone a long time, months. Was it the same when he left it or completely different? Had Taigi returned home from his own travels? Was Nikolai still living at home with their dad? Lex wondered. Maybe a small break? Lex chewed thoughtfully. It depended really on what he found up there in the mountains. Swallowing his last bite of grass Lex turned to Raina.

"I'm ready whenever you are." He called to her, smiling a little.

She couldn't help but to steal glances at the stallion, she noticed he was attractive when they first met. But he was surely handsome and he had a cute personality. She still couldn't get over the evil bunnies. It made her smile a little still. She ate quietly. The gray mare was being cautious as if she were trying to no be noticed or do something stupid. As if he was going to care what she did or not. She could feel something in the pit of her stomach that made her almost nauseous and not so hungry anymore.
"I'm ready too." She smiled hopefully as she started walking towards the mountains.

He wondered if there was something on his face. Lex wasn't sure why she would keep on looking at him for anything other than that. Oh! Unless it was code for something, she could be sending him a signal instead of speaking. Would it be stupid if he asked what was up? Yes. It would. Lex just knew he would be coming across as an idiot if he opened his mouth.
If he had been any younger he'd be talking but Lex liked to think of himself as a little more mature and wiser now. So no asking stupid questions, he had a brain, he could figure it out. His neck prickled. Somehow Lex was sure he was interpreting everything wrong. If only he was good at reading others but that was definitely not his forte.

He chuckled, he was being silly. She was probably looking at him because she was ready. Yeah, that had to be it. He half-shrugged and began to walk beside Raina.

Lex remained quiet for a little while but soon he began to grow restless. He may travel alone but he made sure to stop often because Lex could only stand the quiet for so long. He was never a quiet foal and he definitely was not a quiet stallion, he needed at least some noise in his life. Whether it was rushing stream, chirping birds, or even other soquili, anything would do. He was all right with Raina not being able to talk for long periods of time, Lex didn't mind doing most of the talking.

"It must get cold up there, being so high up." Lex began, looking up towards the mountains. They looked like they reached the clouds, imagine the view he'd have once up there. To see all of the lands, all at once, he wondered if he'd be able to see the forest he grew up in from up there. Doubtful but maybe. "But I think that you're lucky. You have a great view." He continued.
