Also this Theoretical Girl chick is a whore. Totally ripped Glenn Branca's old band Theoretical Girls.

Somebody already mentioned The Prids who are amazing. Obviously A Place to Bury Strangers have gotten pretty big. Crocodiles are pretty cool. Crystal Stilts have a nice gothy tone to their shoegaze, and Liars first album is a pretty solid post-punk release....I already made a thread about The xx who are my favourite under The Prids...these bands are pretty well-known, though.

Yea there's a lot of good shoegazish bands. A Place to Bury Strangers and Crocodiles are pretty good; The Legends are really good too. However, I think it's only their new album they became really shoegazy. Otherwise else they are pretty much twee.

yeah. I have a friend that's real big into twee type stuff. Which reminds me that the vocalist of The National reminds me of Peter Murphy.

They have alot of post-punk influences also they did a pretty decent remake of Bela Lugosi's Dead live with Peter Murphy and Trent Reznor.

I'm really glad someone else thinks so; they don't seem to be getting the press that they deserve. Can't wait for the next album.

I've only heard a few Veil Veil Vanish tracks from their myspace, but I can see what you might be getting at. For me, at least, I really like the instrumentals at usually the beginning, but then the vocals come on and are not complementary at all.
I really like Veil Veil Vanish's cover of Forever Again on the Connect the Dots album, however.

Haven't heard of Blacklist. I'll look them up...
