English Background:
In middle school, my Target teacher said I had so much potential that she read one of my essays in front of the English board and they were shocked to find out it was a middle schooler. Or at least that's what she said...
In 9th grade, I took Honors English, and it was AWESOME! We read short stories mostly, but we also read part of Swann's Way, and it was amazing in that there seemed to be NO point whatsoever. So I read a book that reminded me of it: Crying of Lot 49 by Thomas Pyncheon. Everyone should read it. Really. It was that great.
So that little spark of Proust reignited a fire within me that shouted "Why the heck aren't you writing more stuff like this, huh?".
Now I'm in Pre-AP American Lit, and I wish to god we were reading The Scarlet Letter. I need a reason to read it, the language is just too much for me.
Future: I'm going to college... somewhere. I'm fighting my parents about going to school in Georgia. I'm poor, but I'll kill myself before I spend my first four years of college life in my home state.... I want to go to NYU for something... ANYTHING. I just want to go to New York, New York.
Events: Yay! We're going to One-Act competition in November! We have a good chance of winning this year, so maybe we'll get to state. Auditions on Monday for Noises Off, so I have to find a monologue tonight.
