Portal laughed, and it was easy to tell that his laughter was directed at the male below him. "As long as you're just standing there, tell me your name." He bit back an insult to follow, something about his impromptu companion's idiocracy. Portal paused, thinking now that it would have been kinder to say his own name first, as was custom among the humans, however he was never really know for his kindness. Locking his claws into the strong wood, he leaned forward at a dangerous angle to peer more closely at the other, scowling when he noticed Valve nuzzling into the male's neck.

Thanos frowned. It was obvious that the unkind laughter was directed at him. "Why don't you tell me yours, first?" he said, taking a few steps closer. His expression shifted from surprised anger to worry when he noticed how close to falling the dark male was and, mistaking the dragon's nuzzling as a sign of fear, he started to absentmindedly pet it in an effort to comfort it.

Portal scowled and leaned back onto his beam, settling there for the time being. He prayed to that good-for-nothing goddess that none of her other stupid creations would enter the shop for while. "Portal." He growled, narrowing his eyes at the other, just now noticing that he was worried for some reason. What an odd creature he was indeed. Portal gestured at his familiar who proceeded to hesitantly leave Thanos's side and slither his way onto the same beam as Portal. However instead of scowling impatiently like his master, Valve winked at the male before them gleefully. It had been a while since he was allowed to see others, and now he got to meet one his master hadn't completely written off yet.

Thanos nodded slightly and sighed in relief when the male leaned back. He was surprised that he would care for the well being of such a rude male but brushed it off, reassuring himself that he just didn't want to have to deal with a wounded noodle whom he probably didn't want to help in the first place.

"Thanos." he said softly, but loud enough for Portal to hear, as he watched the dragon climb up the beam. He smiled when it winked, chuckling. Obviously, just because it looked like Portal didn't mean it acted like him. Thanos decided he liked it too much to be angry that there was no sake.

"Nice seeing you again." he said sarcastically, returning his attention to the other noodle.

He wondered briefly why this male cared. 'Probably just a humanist.' Portal thought, though he was really only trying to squelch an odd feeling of hope. 'Ugg probably pro-goddess too.' The male couldn't help it, an odd look of disgust passed his face, it looked like he might throw up for a moment. But it quickly passed.

Portal raised his eyebrows at the odd name. It was... simple yet oddly deep. 'Ugg', when did he begin to get so sentimental. Feeling the beginnings of a blush he scowled and looked away, making his comment sound a lot more sarcastic than his thoughts. "Nice name."

Valve curled around Portal's front leg and around his neck once before moving to whisper into his ear. The creature had a soft sort of voice, it was at all times carefree and sentimental. Nothing like Portal's own. But the fox shooed his familiar away, not wanting to hear advice that began with the phrase 'You know you like...'. Not to mention he had nearly missed the next addition to their thrilling conversation, a sarcastic remark.

"What?" Said Portal, sounding honestly surprised. When had he seen this male before? It was as though everything before this morning was erased and replaced with frame by frames of this meeting. 'Ugg, how terribly f***ng embarrassing to forget someone.' He couldn't stop the thought that followed, 'Especially someone as striking as him...', or the blush that grew from that. Turning away Portal plastered a scowl on his face again. "Yeah, sure is."

Thanos was beginning to suspect the male was afraid of heights, or at least that looking down was making him sick. For a moment, Portal looked as if he was ready to throw up (and from that height, the results wouldn't be pretty... not that it would have been pretty in the first place), but it quickly passed. He kept looking away, too.

Thanos wondered whether the dragon was some sort of advisor or something. Portal certainly didn't seem like the type who would keep others around, or let them go into his personal space. Then again, they did look similar. It was possible the two were related in some way, Thanos thought, as his life with Ryu made him unfamiliar with drinks, god/desses, and the like that were usually common knowledge for other noodles.

His train of thought was cut off when the other replied, and he was surprised by how ... honest Portal sounded. Did he have a twin, mayhaps? If he did, Thanos supposed this one was a little nicer, as he did give Thanos the requested drink, although the contents were not what was expected. The idea was thrown away, however, when Portal spoke once more, and Thanos took the soft light reflecting in the other male's eyes as a flicker of recognition, although it was hard to tell from the distance between them.

"Miss me?" he asked drly, scanning the room again. Really now, how would one get on the rafters?

Portal paused, calming himself down to chase away the annoying blush. Being mortal had always had it's disadvantages. It seemed that this new comer, Thanos he was called, didn't know much about the shop. It would be easy to teach him things, especially of the terrible things the goddess did. It made him terribly violent to think of how many idiots didn't know. If he could only teach them all like he could teach Thanos.

Valve stirred, looking a lot like an odd scarf around Portal's neck. He almost blended in to his master's pelt, unless you looked close enough. But who would his master let close enough? No one. Though he did rather fancy this new male, he had of course been the only one to converse with his master in nearly a week. Well, besides Magnus, his master's odd cohort. But Magnus was really an odd child. Now his master was dreaming of rebellion, and using the the creature he was quite secretly attracted to. Using someone never ended well. Valve snorted a bit of steam and stretched himself back down onto the creature's back, he could sense the tiniest hint of jealousy in his master before the rage.

Portal understood that his little minion was trying to change his mind, but it wasn't likely to work. Nothing would work between him and this little brat of a male, his odd hair giving him a slight aura of seduction. Yes, that had to be all it was, seeing only half the face of an idiot made him seem less so.

He nearly gagged on a thought, mishearing what the other had said to him. Without much thought he whipped around, face still quite red, and hissed lightly. "W-what!? ...Of course not!" It was yet another quality of mortals to hear a K in the place of an M. Or perhaps it was simply Portal's paranoia.

Thanos, taken aback by the aggressive and hasty reponse, only smirked in return. He took the reply to mean that Portal really had missed him, although why he would be missed in the first place was what had Thanos confused. Portal hardly seemed to be the type to enjoy the company of others, let alone miss them, and their first encounter hadn't exactly been a great start.

Still, Thanos would be lying to himself if he said he hadn't missed the other, as well. Portal was one of the first few of his kind that he had met upon entering the shop, and the black and orange male's actions had perked an interest in Thanos that he hadn't felt in a while. Portal's blatant rudeness had piqued his curiousity as to why the male acted the way he did. He knew he was probably being nosy, but since when had he cared much?

In an effort to find out more about the other, Thanos motioned with his head towards the dragon draped about the male's neck, hoping conversation about the long creature would lead to Portal revealing more about himself, as Thanos was sure he wouldn't get much of a response if he had asked directly. "Nice..." he started, before suddenly realizing he had no idea what the dragon meant to the other. Unintentionally, he ended his compliment as a question. "...pet?"

What in the world was wrong with this guy? Portal could see him smirking out the corner of his eye. He had spun back around and slunk into the shadows of the rafters, leaving Valve to flirt with the moron in whatever way he saw fit. Portal hardly cared for the creature who simply acted like an intoxicated version of himself. And it seemed obvious that Valve liked Thanos more than his own master.

Portal fumed to himself, cursing whatever came to his mind. Why in the world would the odd male want him to... it didn't matter. Though first impressions were nothing to Portal, this was just terrible. Still, he knew to judge slowly. After all, had the first 'Britney Spears' of sorts not also created what later lead to Wifi? Yes, yes she had. And perhaps this male would eventually mean something to him, even if he meant less than he did now. Portal would judge slowly.

Valve blinked his eyes at the male, they were almost synthetically bright, like a computer screen. He curled around and drew himself up like a snake, flicking the end of his tail. This was an odd creature indeed, and the little familiar wondered what his master saw in the male. Remembering the question that his master had ignored, the long creature puffed smoke at him. He was nobody's pet! Minion... well that was a different matter.

Thanos, upon closer inspection, realized that Portal had left. He could see the faint orange glow of the male deeper in the shadows, but unless the male was horribly allergic to light (which he highly doubted), Thanos realized that he had just been outright ignored.

Indignant, he wrinkled his lips angrily, and was about to head back to the couch and give no attention to Portal in return, when sight of the dragon's smoke attracted his attention. He didn't want to be a hyprocrite and ignore the little thing, just because of its master. The fact that the dragon was denying the fact that he was a pet, but was instead, something (apparently) more, had yet to enter Thanos's train of thought, as he was more interested in getting the dragon to come to him again.

Rummaging around, he took out a piece of candy and waved it a bit, silently asking the dragon if it wanted it or not.

Portal narrows his eyes as he watched the scene unfold in front of him. It wasn't really that he was ignoring Thanos, but rather that he hadn't heard him because he was too embarrassed. There were his mortal flaws again, at least he didn't have internal organs, that was something to be thankful. He settled down and tried to be quite still, this way he could watch and not be seen.

Valve's eyes twinkled. His master never gave him candy, it really wasn't very good for him. Still, he sniffed, drawing closer, and couldn't resist. Perhaps that was what drew his master to this male. As the long creature slunk closer he blew a bit of smoke at the male, for he seemed to like it the last time, and dropped down from one beam to wrap around the neck of the larger creature. Nuzzling into the neck of the male, Valve blinked up at him once more, as if asking politely. Unfortunately, unwrapping the object was beyond him.

Thanos was relieved to see the small creature come down. He wouldn't have wanted to hurt its feelings or anything. Deciding that the puffs of smoke were a good sign, he smiled and petted it again when it wrapped itself around his neck once more.

Still under the assumtion that Portal had ignored him, he turned his back on the male and returned to the couch, unwrapping the candy on the way. He gave the candy to the dragon, and suddenly wondered whether it was bad for the small being or not (although it was hard to believe the first option from the creature's reaction so far).

Valve took note that this creature responded well to signs of affection, of course from a mere familiar alone. It would be difficult to retain any serious information for his master, and he doubted that Portal would accept it anyway. He curled closer, closing his jaws over the sweet dessert and gulping it down, while above his master was grinding his teeth.

Who was this guy!? Portal scowled, pacing now despite his earlier qualms. Was this some attempt at subtle flirting? Or not so subtle, yet oddly normal. Wasn't this fool supposed to know nothing about the shop? How could Thanos possibly know that pleasing his familiar, the creature bearing his markings, would also please him in an odd way? He shoved the pleasure away, snarling to himself. This was torture, and it was worse still because Valve seemed to love him so. In fact, he narrowed his eyes viciously as he noticed Valve curling tighter to the male in a possessive fashion and flicking his long tail across Thanos' back.

Thanos, pleased with the dragon's response, petted him some more. He caught movement near the shadows Portal was hiding in, but remembered that he was ignoring him, and returned his attention to the dragon instead. "You're a cute little fellow, aren't you?" he said sweetly. It was too small to hug, and it seemed to like its position around his neck, anyway, so Thanos could only stroke it.

He wondered how it kept its mane so soft and its scales smooth and, after a while, he prodded it lightly on the nose. "Have a name?" he asked curiously, wondering if it could speak.

Portal scowled, angry with himself as he blushed. Of course he could hear them perfectly well. He snarled just a bit louder, knowing his minion wouldn't speak unless he had permission anyways. Still, it angered him that Thanos called Valve cute, clearly he and the dragon looked quite similar. Ahh, would the odd torture of it not end?

Valve flicked his tail in a pleased fashion onto the male's back. It really was nice to be loved, and given candy and... oh he could practically feel his master's anger and jealousy as a physical force. He didn't even consider talking, which he wasn't sure he could even do since he hadn't in a while, but nodded his nose at Thanos.
