Thanos peered into the almost-empty noodle shop. What was it called again? The Lucky Noodle? Yes, that was it. Thanos had gone into the shop only once before a few days back, although apparently, he had been born here. Before he could take the time to explore, though, there had been a qualm. Unfortunately, before he could pursue it, Ryu had called him, and he was forced to follow or be locked out of their apartment for the night (curse her >_>).

His curiousity perked, he had returned (after stealing the keys to the apartment, of course), and was now absentmindedly looking around. He still wondered about how that one noodle had gotten to the rafters without wings and he was determined to find out how... after he had seen to it the couch was comfortable. Having spotted the well-worn piece of furniture pressed against the wall, he leaped onto it, and proceeded to pile the pillows together before he draped himself lavishly on top, enjoying the soft feel of cushions beneath him.

Portal sighed contentedly as the last of those annoyances left the shop. It was a particularly hot day out, and the shop was not a very popular place to be. Much to Portal's dislike however noodles continued to come and go until about lunch time. Not that any of them could see him, nor did they care for him. But at least, for now, the shop was silent and he was alone. For all of five minutes.

He was in the middle of hiding the coffee maker so that the others would not continue to wake him up with the sound of it brewing when the bells on the door chimed. Someone was here... ****. Peaking over the bar he grimaced, it was that one from yesterday. Staying low, he wondered if he would be able to make it to the rafters without the idiot noticing.

Thanos sighed, hugging a stray pillow that managed to end up leaning against the base of his cushiony mountain, and rolled over so he was looking up at the rafters. It was a hot day, and he wasn't so sure anymore if he would want to be up there anymore, seeing as hot air rose. Helped the birds fly and everything, or something like that.

He huffed with discomfort, cursing his dark fur, and started to fan himself with the pillow. He would have liked to go under the couch's cool shade if tales of a supposed tentacle monster hadn't reached his ears. Even if one didn't live down there, who knew what kind of horrible things would? Heck, anything could be down there, from large dust bunnies to mutated insects to--

"Oof!" Thanos dropped the pillow in surprise, after having accidentally slapping himself in the face with it. He sat up and rubbed his cheek, glad the pillow was soft, and looked around for some shade, deciding the couch probably wasn't the best place to be in this weather.

Portal, who had been staring and would deny it later, couldn't help himself. He chuckled deeply and swiftly ducked behind the bar. If he was lucky the other male would consider the fact that he was going crazy, and then go find some nice shade or a pool. But, his lucky had run out a long time ago. And, he was fairly certain that this noodle wasn't stupid. Despite his current appearance.

Portal wondered what the other had been thinking about before he fell, he looked a little repulsed yet... his pondering was oddly intriguing. Beginning to feel himself bush, Portal stashed the coffee maker under the sink and bit the inside of his lip. He was pretty sure the heat was getting to him.

Thanos pricked his long ears at the sound of laughter and stood, looking around for its source. Numerous teases from Ryu had made him a bit touchy when he was laughed at, and he was sure the laughter was directed at him, because, for one thing, he couldn't see anyone else in the room, and he had just slapped himself with his own pillow-fan.

Arranging the pillows back to their original position quickly, lest he get yelled at from some authoritive-like person (someone did own the place, after all... right?), he went closer to the bar, which looked like it had a kitchen behind it. He peered above it, but was too short to see anything closest to the bar. After a while, he wondered if he was looking in the right area, or if he had even heard the laughter in the first place.

Portal heard the shuffle of feat, and the easily recognizable sound of pillows being reorganized. So it would seem that he was right, this male was not as stupid as he looked. Portal stiffened as the footsteps grew closer, and shrunk against the bar with hit tail sticking out only the tiniest bit. The possibility of being found now was simply too embarrassing to imagine. It hurt his pride just thinking about it.

Moments passed and Portal didn't hear much noise. Perhaps he had spaced out and missed the tell tale signs of the other moving away. Out of the shop maybe, or just back to that couch to fall asleep. Well, all he could do was guess and take a look. What harm could that do? As he peaked slowly over the bar counter, he found himself face to face with the male. A blush grew oh his cheeks, but his dark fur covered it nicely. "What do you want idiot?" He proclaimed with a scowl, backtracking a little too fast.

Thanos was just about to settle with blaming the heat and go off again to look for some nice shade when a head suddenly popped up from behind the bar. Thanos's face held a look of incredulous surprise at how close they were and how suddenly the other had appeared, until recognition made him harden his gaze. He flattened his ears and snarled back, his good-natured attitude gone in a flash.

"A drink, if you don't mind." Thanos found himself saying, even though that had been the farthest thing in his mind. It emphasized how new he was to the place, seeing as he had no idea it was self-serve. He just assumed that, because the dark black and orange male was there, it was his job or something to serve refreshments.

User Image Portal smirked, the reaction he'd gotten from this male was rather humorous. At least, considering the reactions he could have gotten, this was not the worst. A commanding tone took over the other's voice, and Portal internally hissed. However he decided to play along, placing an empty clay cup and a seemingly normal pitcher of Sake on the counter between them. Portal hoped the idiot dragon baring his marks would stay hidden until the right moment. Valve had already proved to be rather difficult.
(Fail. D: Sorry 'bout that, been feeling lame.)

((That's fine. (: Feel free to take your time in replying. <3 I'm usually busy, anyway. |D))

Thanos raised a brow. Was this guy serious? He had expected water, possibly lemonade, but not sake. But he couldn't say he was unhappy about it. He took the bottle and stared at it curiously. The people on T.V. usually poured a liquid out of it, and it made them a bit... well, it just made them more loose. He was about to try and pour it into the bowl but paused. Was he supposed to just drink it here? It made him uncomfortable, with the other male so near, but apparently, if the T.V. was to be believed, the more sake he drank, the better he was, or something like that. In an attempt to possibly intimidate the male with how much he could drink (it'd be something like water, after all, right?) he tilted the bottle into the bowl, trying not to appear too cautious.

Portal chuckled, taking this moment of probable vulnerability to make his escape. Slipping out from behind the counter he made his way onto the rafters to be somewhat alone. He was pretty sure that Valve, or that other male, would be able to find him anyways. But a moment or two of peace was better than none at all.

Valve smirked, something he had easily learned from Portal. As he felt his Sake bottle tip he snaked out of it backward, curling around the cup. He looked up at the male with a smile and a wink. He blinked at the blue eyed, fair haired, tech looking male and picked up a negative reaction between his Master and this male. Too bad Master, he thought with a smirk, and slivered up and around the neck of this male.

Thanos was too surprised at what came out of the bottle to notice the dark male had left. He peered at the dragon-like creature, wondering if he was supposed to crush it or something for the drink he had expected. Was it supposed to look so alive, he wondered?

He was about to reach for it when it curled around his neck. He jumped in surprise, but found out quickly that it wasn't trying to choke him. "Hello?" he said to it cautiously, petting it slightly with a paw to see what it felt like. Well, one thing was for certain, and it was that this thing was not his sake.

Valve nuzzled up to the male, causing Portal to roll his eyes and hiss in frustration. The stupid little thing had caused enough trouble for him already, it was too flirty to be a respectable minion in any account. He stalked along a rafter beam, watching as the idiot creature bearing his markings attempted to make a sort of purring sound as the male stoked him.
'D***! Nothing is going my way today! 'Portal thought, digging his claws into the beam and leaning forward at a dangerous angle, his tail lashing angrily. Not only was his brilliant plan completely ruined by that failure of a minion, but now he felt some sort of annoying emotional pang hit him. Oh he prayed to that failure of a Goddess that he wasn't jealous. Oh yes, someone was going to die tonight.

Thanos, pleased with its response, continued to pet it lightly before he looked up at... a blob of space. "Erm..." he started, pushing against the top of the counter with his front paws to give himself a boost to look under the counter. "Where's your... look-a-like?" he asked the sake dragon thing, realizing he still had no idea what the other male's name was.

When it was obvious the black and orange male wasn't in the kitchen, he returned to the previous room, making sure the dragon wouldn't fall, and looked up at the rafters. He was here before, Thanos thought, squinting. So there's no reason he won't be here again.

Portal moved slowly on one rafter beam, sticking to the darkest shadows in a far corner of the shop. But his glowing orange markings shimmered as he moved, giving him away. He was usually very stealthy, but today something was occupying his mind. There was no way he could be honestly attracted to this fool, yet that was the only explanation for his familiar's actions. He blinked, realizing he still didn't know the other male's name. Peering down at him, he let out a low snarl at finding his expression of curiosity mirrored in the male. It didn't help that Valve seemed to flick his tail against the black and white male's markings, as if discreetly pointing out their similarity to his master's.

Thanos probably wouldn't have noticed the male if he stayed where he was, seeing as Thanos had moved almost directly under him, making it nearly impossible for him to be spotted. However, the faintly glowing markings were easy to distinguish as soon as there was movement.

Thanos snapped his head back, watching as it moved away from him. He tried to follow, losing sight of the familiar glow numerous times because of the dark shadows. When he felt a soft tap on his side from the dragon still around his neck, he turned, wondering if it wanted something, but stopped mid-way, when his eyes met with the noodle he was following. For the moment, he was too surprised at the unexpected find to do anything but stare back.
