Silak was glad he was able to find the den on his own. Despite his rank, he still had a rather big ego, so asking for help wasn't necessarily high on the list of things he wanted to do in life. Luckily for him Aiden didn't offer any help, nor did he seem like the kind that would, of course those were merely assumptions based on the little bits and pieces of information he knew about the other wolf.
He blinked, as the male unexpectedly stopped mid-sentence and seemingly crashed into something. "Er... Are you okay?", he asked with slight concern in his voice.

Aiden, startled by the unexpected blow, rubbed his stinging nose with a paw. "I'm fine." he said, shaking himself before retreating to the back of the den, so Silak would have some room.
"I'm afraid my den isn't very large." he said apologetically. "I didn't really expect to have any company, you see." Wolves were naturally pack animals, and already, company was doing Aiden some good. His slight stutter had left for the moment, at least, and he wasn't cowering in his den anymore. At least... he wasn't before. Aiden flinched and crouched in the back of his den when thunder could be heard, and he licked his paws nervously.

Silak wondered if Aiden had run into a corner of the den or something, it was very possible, but for a young wolf? Maybe not, either way he decided he'd keep his mouth shut about it, not wanting to offend the other wolf's feelings of course.
"No it's alright.", Silak replied shuffling a little bit to be able to lay down comfortably. "I'm actually grateful.", he said looking at the other wolf with strange accuracy. The first clap of thunder made his fur stand on end. Thunderstorms were usually harmless, provided you stayed out of harm's way, but it was still frightening nonetheless. He put his head on top of his paws and wondered how they were going to pass time until the storm ended. Sleep was always an option, but somehow he didn't feel at ease sleeping with another wolf watching.

"T-that's nice to know." Aiden said, covering his eyes with his paws. He decided that if he ever had a choice on what kind of den he could have, he would chose an underground one. One that would block the view of the outside. Really, these storms were frightening. It was scary to watch the light tear across the sky. But he supposed that kind of den would be horrible if flooding were to occur, or if sight was neccessary, it would be a horrible den. But still.
Realizing his wandering thoughts had made him silent, and most likely had made his guest bored, he tried to speak, perhaps try and start a conversation again, when thunder boomed once more.

Silak laid there silently, idly picking at bits of grass between his pads, the blood from before had all but dried into messy little scabs from what he could feel, but he could never be too sure of things like this. He would've preferred to be in his own den right now, to be positive of his surroundings, but had he searched for his den, he probably wouldn't have found it until dawn. Oh the misfortunes of being blind.
He sighed and watched the sky with a neutral expression, the most recent clap of thunder had made his fur stand on end again. It was probably a pathetic sight for the other male to see, but unfortunately the reactions were compulsive. Nothing he could stop anyway. He turned back to look over at Aiden with uncanny accuracy, he wondered what he was thinking, and also wondered about starting a conversation with him. At this point, anything was better than a silent night through a storm. Anything.

"S-sooo..." Aiden started, his voice drawled in a horrible attempt to sound calm. He was still too busy covering his eyes and trying to bury himself in the corner of the rock wall to notice Silak's appearance, and was desperate to get rid of the silence, which he thought was a sign of anger from the other male.
"Where--" he continued, only to be cut off when suddenly, the sound of scrabbling paws could be heard near the entrance. He forced a paw off his eye to see what it was, as the scent of the storm made it hard for him to smell anything that wasn't close by, and pressed his ears forward. Although nothing could be seen at first, the noise continued, getting louder and louder.
The squirrel had, unfortunately, been busy earlier that day. It was in a forest, after all, and had thought shelter would be easy to find. However, none seemed adequate enough for rain, and now, the squirrel was left practically undefended against the oncoming storm. In a panic at the realization, it had darted towards a small cave it saw, and had failed to notice the scent of predators from it.
Aiden yelped (quite loudly, in fact) in surprise when the desperate squirrel reached the entrace, as soon as lightning struck, and the light made it seem as if it were almost Fenris in disguise. He tried to scrabble back, but was already pressed against the corner and whimpered again when the squirrel, after darting in a circle once, ran off.

Silak cocked his head at Aiden curiously wondering what it was he had wanted to ask. His ears twitched as he heard scrambling paws by the entrance of the den. He turned his head in the direction of the entrance and stretched forward a little to try and get a good smell of the intruder. If it was another predator they'd be doomed to an ambush, but if it was something else, they'd probably be able to fend it off right? Well that'd have to be Aiden's task all things considered.
He was glad to find out that it had been neither of his assumptions, from what he scented it was a squirrel or a rabbit. One of the two, fore the moisture in the air clouded his sense of smell.
Silak all but jumped out of his fur at Aiden's yelp. It had come out of no where in his opinion and in addition to the commotion outside it was louder than he'd have anticipated. Was he freaked out over the squirrel? Was that even possible? "A-Aiden...?", he asked the other with his ears perked up just encase of another unwelcome guest.

"I-Is it gone?" Aiden asked timidly, a few moments after Silak called him. When he realized that he might have offended Silak (because the best way to check was by sight, seeing as the distant rumble and the scent of the storm made it hard to hear and smell), though, he flattened his ears. "I.. I mean...." he wondered how to word his sentence better, but was at a loss for words.
"I'm sorry." he finally said, as the first drops fell outside. He was embarassed and ashamed of the way he acted from seeing the squirrel, and was worried that he had unintentionally scared Silak, too. It must've been hard, not knowing what the supposed danger was. "Are you okay?" he inquired quietly, still apologetic.

Silak blinked at his question. There was no way he could really answer this, but he had a pretty good guess. "I think I heard it scuttle back outside...", he said quietly. From what he could hear the prey had run away, but he couldn't be too sure with the storm there.
He nodded. "It's alright.", admittedly what had scared him most at the time was Aiden's yelp rather than the intruder itself... Though he'd never tell Aiden that encase he'd hurt his feelings. "Yeah... It didn't seem to be that big a threat. And considering the fact that it left so abruptly...", and with that he trailed off a little.

"That's good." Aiden said, stating the obvious. He shuffled his paws nervously, and, plainly embarassed, replied, "Y-yeah. It did leave pretty quickly." before he laid down again. He was more alert than before, mainly because he was afraid of another squirrel coming by, and watched as the rain fell harder before he felt his was calm enough to speak again.
"Before I... um... was interrupted," he said, still too embarassed to say "before I yelped," "I was about to ask where you were from. You don't need to answer if you want. We can talk about something else... or... um... not talk at all, I suppose." he said, his voice fading as he finished.

Silak nodded and wondered when the storm would subside. It had proved to be a fairly vast and long one, but most storms were long. That was their troublesome nature. Judging by how even a squirrel would wander into a den inhabited by its natural predator there were pretty high chances that something else would interrupt them soon. He only hoped that Aiden wouldn't be caught so off guard next time.
He pondered that question himself. He'd always been more of a wanderer, moving about all his life, he'd never really stayed in one place for over what he assumed to be a month's time so it was hard to remember where he really came from. "I... Er, I've traveled pretty much my whole life so I'm not too sure where I actually came from.", he replied with a wolfish shrug. "Talking's good... For now, so we can... Get to know more about each other.", he concluded while looking away. Talking would definitely be good for it'd distract him from his strangely large need for sleep.

"Really?" Aiden said, interested immedietly perked. While he did not like travelling himself all that much, for fear of the unknown and the comforts he felt with things familiar (plus his dislike of inevitable change), the thought itself was always appealing. Lands where the grass grew high and strange, leaping deer could be found; forests where the sweetest of fruits grew, even when snow fell; and much more. He liked listening to the tales, but had yet to go upon any great land himself.
"All right." he said, tail wagging slightly. "If you don't mind me asking a question again... do you think you can tell me about the places you've visited?" he asked hopefully.

Silak was more or less glad that the other wolf took an interest in his travels. He'd always been curious as to finding out more and more about the world hence moving around a lot. Though some places weren't as favorable as other places it was nice to experience the new environments, the new climate, and all that stuff.
He had to ponder over what Aiden requested though, it'd been a long time since he'd been able to see so some of the places had become hazy. After a few moments he decided on a few locations that he could still remember vividly in his mind from when he'd still been able to see.
"So there was this one place...", he started, explaining to Aiden one of the more interesting places he'd been too.

At first, Aiden was worried the male would decline, or had fallen asleep (it was hard to tell, really). He pawed at some of the loose dirt beneath his feet, lowering his head, and was about to mutter an apology and check to see if Silak was alive when he spoke.
He jumped, but was pleased with the words his companion uttered and listened intently, raptured. The sounds of the outside world died away and Aiden couldn't help but to lose himself in the story. Something born of cowardice, perhaps, but Aiden always enjoyed leaving the real world behind, and delve deep into a tale.

"... And well that's about it.", he concluded once he'd described most of his travel to Aiden. It was nice to reminisces about the past and telling the stories certainly fulfilled that wish. He almost muttered a thanks to Aiden too, but stopped before he could utter the words. That would be a little awkward at this point.
