Aiden crouched close to the stream, lapping lightly. He tried to remain inconspicuous and drink his fill quickly, so he could retreat back into the safety of the forest. His ears were pricked, his eyes darting here and there, and his muscles tensed to flee at any sign of danger.

There were two reasons he was so on edge. The first was that he had a general fear of remaining unprotected, and he felt that way in the open. The land around the river didn't provide much cover. The second was because a storm was approaching, and it made many Varg fearful. A storm could bring many things. Floods, sickness, deaths. He had once seen a crack of lightning make the red flowers man controlled.

Aiden shuddered at the memory and, deciding he had had enough, ran back to what he hoped was decent shelter in the forest.

The blind wolf stared unseeingly at the moon. His ears lay flat on top of his skull. From what he could feel in the air it seemed like a storm would be approaching soon. Storms were naturally feared for the disasters they brought with them and Silak would've fled back into the forest for shelter if he had known which way was which.

He closed his ears and focused his ears to his surroundings, letting them be his eyes cause he couldn't see. From the sounds of it there was a river nearby and he could faintly make out pawstep leaving the river. It was risky, but the moment Silak heard the pawsteps he knew what he had to do. Rising up to his feet he trotted after the resounding pawsteps trying to hear where they were coming from. Where they were going. Considering the fact that he couldn't see from birth he had had to use only his ears. That made them more alert than the average wolf and yet, they never really did anything too useful until now. He could hear the faint breath of the other wolf running into what seemed to be the forest.

He knew he'd made it into the forest when his paws felt the cool sensation of the grass and twigs. He could've just tried to search for his own shelter in the forest, but he decided to follow the other. It was a foolish thing to do, sure, but the upcoming storm was making him too tense to care.

Aiden had been too intent on getting to the forest that he hadn't notice the appearance of the second Varg. The smell of vegetation and the storm was enough to cover the other's scent for the most part, and a brown coat would be eassily missed when surrounded by the thick trunks of trees.

When Aiden finally did notice the other male, he froze, fear holding him in place. "W-who are you?" he choked out, spinning slowly until he could see the stranger in front of him. The movement caused his scent of fear to spread, and Aiden ruffled the daisy in his mane, trying to calm himself. Who knew what kind of predators would be attracted to the scent in a time like this?

Silak was confused by the fear scent that seemed to envelop the other wolf. Just who had he been following? He'd expected a much fiercer response from the other wolf when he'd noticed him following him but... Well this was just unexpected.

Keeping his tail between his legs and his ears flat upon his head Silak answered with an unfaltering, confident voice, "I'm Silak.", he paused for a second staring unblinking at the other. "I followed you because I thought you knew where shelter was.", he replied just as confident as before. Inside it felt like there were butterflies in his stomach, but he knew how to pull off a good bluff. He'd done it many times before and for the most part it'd worked.

Aiden was surprised by how willingly the other responded. He looked submissive, which surprised Aiden, but his voice was confident. After an awkward silence, he finally realized that his question had been answered and that he should probably response.

"Oh." he said, still unsure of the other. "My name's Aiden." He paused, watching the male, wondering if he could be trusted. It still hadn't occured to him yet that Silak was blind.

"Well, I was headed to some shelter, and I guess you can come if you want." he said uncertainly, but firmly. No matter whether Silak was speaking the truth or had other intentions, Aiden decided that he shouldn't be left out in the cold.

Aiden seemed unsure of himself, that was a first for Silak, but either way the other wolf was going to let him accompany him. That was a good thing, he probably wouldn't have been able to find shelter on his own. He wondered if Aiden actually had another agenda or if he was simply telling the truth with what he said. Surely the other wolf would know how easy it would be to take advantage of a blind wolf? He determined that the other couldn't be too bad and nodded deciding that he'd follow him for the time being.

Aiden padded forward, looked back to see if the other would follow, and continued. He wove around the trees smoothly; it was obvious he had come here often. However, despite the familiar surroundings, Aiden felt nervous. He never hung out with the other Varg much, as they disliked his status as a Kerl, and he feared them. Because of this, he had no idea what he was supposed to do. The only thing that he could think of was to strike up a conversation, but he was unsure as to what to say.

"So... um, what are you doing here?" he asked quietly, then quickly spoke again. "Not that there's a problem or anything. Sorry if I'm being nosy. You don't have to answer if you don't want."

Silak, was definitely not as smooth as Aiden on their path. Due to his inability to see he found himself scrapping the pads of his paws along every sharp rock in the forest. It was uncomfortable and there was a light blood scent surrounding his legs because of it. It wasn't something other predators from afar could scent, so they'd be safe for a while, least until they found shelter of course. Being with another wolf made him feel a little uneasy. He'd always traveled alone so this was a first. Two wolves were better than one right?

He pondered an answer for a while trying to decided what to say without sounding too weak or anything. "Seeking shelter like you.", he answered. "Of course, I know you and I would prefer to go our separate ways, buts I can't find shelter too easily.", he concluded, assuming that Aiden already knew of his disadvantage.

Aiden flattened his ears, mistaking Silak's small moment of thoughtful silence as anger. When Silak finally did reply, it caught Aiden by surprise and he bristled in alarm. The lack of anger in the other male's voice calmed him, though, and he quirked an ear to listen while keeping his eyes ahead.

"No, it's fine. I don't mind your company, really." he said hastily. He wondered why the male couldn't find shelter easily, but felt it'd be rude to ask, so left the subject alone. "We're almost there." he said suddenly, when he spotted a familiar clump of flowers.

Silak nodded. Aiden was probably the best company he'd had in a long while, most of the other wolves ignored him, or attacked him at some point, but Aiden seemed... Calmer? No, he could feel the air of tension that still clung to him, why was he so nervous though? He decided that it'd be best if he didn't question the other about that, no use in getting into an argument when they were almost there.

His nose twitched as a familiar scent was inhaled it smelt faintly of flowers, but wondered if they were really near them. "Flowers...?", he mused to himself quietly, almost forgetting to follow Aiden.

"Yep." Aiden said, more cheerful because of the prescence of the fragile plants and because he could practically feel the warmth he knew he'd find in his den. "Aren't they beautiful?"

He smiled softly and nuzzled them lightly before heading to his den, which was a hollow large enough for a few Varg made from the roots of trees. He paused midway, though, incase Silak wanted to take the time to admire them as he often did.

Silak paused and mused some more. That was kind of a silly question wasn't it? He was blind so it was hard to tell whether or not the flowers looked good. He pondered on an answer that hopefully wouldn't hurt Aiden's feelings. "Erm... They sure smell good.", he replied, trying to keep it real. He looked around a bit from instinct rather than necessity considering the fact that he couldn't see. He noticed that Aiden had stopped, maybe to admire the flowers again, perhaps? Well, now he'd have to ask that remedial question. Questions like that made him sound weak, which wasn't something one wanted to feel too often. "... Where exactly is your... Den?"

Aiden looked curiously at the other male. He frowned, wondering if the male was only trying to be polite, and was about to tell him that he didn't need to lie about them if he didn't want to, when he suddenly noticed the other male's eyes. They seemed a bit... hollow.

He tilted his head sideways, wondering if the color silver did that to the eyes. He was about to comment on them, worried that the male might have some sort of disease that would take away his sight, when he suddenly realized that the other's sight was already gone.

He was too surprised to reply to the male's question at first, but the words registered in his mind, and he blined stupidly. "Uh... erm, it's right over here." he said, hoping he hadn't offended the other with his previous words.

Silak figured, or at least guessed that Aiden had just realized his problem. He was a little slow he supposed, but that didn't make a bad wolf per se. He was nice enough to let him spend the night with him anyway, so he wasn't all bad. He hadn't really been lieing about the flowers, they really did smell nice, and he was sure that if he could see he would've thought that they looked good too. In fact, being about to see at all these days would simply be a dream come true.

Casting his thoughts aside, Silak concentrated on figuring out where Aiden was by his voice. He slowly wandered over towards it until eventually his paws hit a different terrain. Dirt. This was probably it, but he wanted to be sure of it first. "This is it right?", he asked the other.

Aiden let out a startled squeak when Silak spoke again. "Y-yep." he said. He wondered if he should go and help the other male, or if it was okay for him to just be standing there, waiting for Silak to find his own way. He heard some were really sensitive about it and that others were offended if they were offered help. But there wasn't a way Aiden could make sure, because if he asked, he might hurt Silak's feelings, or something.

"Uh...." he said, still confused from the thoughts in his head. "Do, you... I mean, that is--" still distracted, he proceeded to unintentionally walk straight into a wall, cutting himself off.
