The Phantom item 666 It isnt sad but it does make me cry when at the end they say "To love another person is to see the face of god..." It's so true...I always think of my mom whenever i hear that. ya im Jean ValJean and I got to say that is my favorite line to sing! however the sadest part for me is Gavroche death even more so because the person we have playing him is so small !

Empty Chairs at Empty Tables is in my opinion the saddest. I cry just listening to it by itself! When any revolutionary dies would be the next saddest... ;_; They were all so young...

The part that REALLY gets me is Javert's suicide. It's just so depressing! The poor man's life is shattered, just by one act of kindness.. gonk
lol. I'm not sure..all of it is so tear jerking I couldn't choose just one.

A Little Fall of Rain and Gavroche's death always get me if I became emotionally attatched to the characters during the show. And I always feel bad for Eponine during Rue Plumet, since I think everyone else has felt that before.

Whil the musical is sad, I don't cry at any points. (Though I get close to when Gavroche dies) But in the book, I started bawling at Valjean's death. The way Victor Hugo writes it, with Valjean talking about Cosette, after he had to leave her and thought that he would die without seeing her one last time... it just really got to me. He loved her so much, and he did so much for her at his own expense. Because I remembered how he went and got her Cathrine at Thenardier's inn, and how he threw death glares at Marius in the Luxembourg. It was just so well written.
I think another sad point was Enjolras' death, and Marius when he thought that he would never see Cosette.

I think many parts in this musicals are sad...
I especially cry at the Epilogue, when Valjean is dying and Fantine and Eponine are taking him to heavan, and then come the ghosts of those who died and sing, "Do you hear the people sing".....
It makes me soo sad crying ......

1) Fantine's death: Come To Me
2) Eponine's interjections: A Heart Full Of Love
3) Eponine's solo: On My Own
4) Eponine's death: A Little Fall of Rain
5) Marius' lement: Empty Chairs at Empty Tables

Really the whole thing is sad... sad . I didn't cry at any parts in the book because I happened to read the most horrible abridged translation in existence and I was too dumbfounded by the way they butchered the book. But I'm starting on the unabridged and I can already tell it's going to be way better.
In the musical though, I think all of the death scenes are really sad and I almost always cry at the epilogue.

the part where i broke down was definitely when gavroche died. it makes it worse that he doesn't get to finish saying, "so you'd better run for cover when the pup grows up." crying

Gelasius The one part that gets me is when Gavroche goes out for the bullets and gets shot twice. They play that for alllllll ittttts worth. They milk it. and it works each and every time. I was crying my eyes out. crying :'(
