The Haelstrom Fist
Provided Takamura only has two arms and withdrew one of them to draw his katana, it is entirely impossible to block both arms bashing downward with one limb/saya (scabbard) without at least minor compromise in distance to the face. This combined with the fact it would be impossible to counter the pauldrons at full arm's length because Takamura already allowed Omi well past his arm's length with that sheath-butt earlier to the gut, makes escaping the 2 foot flames both targeting the Battousai's face a near impossibility to avoid given the circumstances.

Curious it would be, as to how the swordsman planned to progress with two monstrous flames scolding his visage.
You Will Never Be A Man

Initially the sword is in the saya when he blocks, allowing him to use both hands, effectively stopping forward motion, The average armlength for a 6 foot person is about 3 feet, giving Takamura an extra foot to work with, and he easily could block at arms length because he is bending backwards instead of pushing back onto the pauldrons he is simply lengthening the distance between himself and them. As for the sword drawing that would cause one of two things, your character would notice the more immediate threat of the sword and either push harder, forcing Takamura off balance, or Takamura would collapse and simply slide under your pauldrons, either event is entirely up to your reply.

A widened set of eyes, and the quickest mental muttering of the word: "..FOOL!!" signaled fighter Omi Barsait's tearing asunder of the situation in full.

[COMBAT PINNACLE]

The issue with the block created was that while it could stop the pauldrons for a moment - Omi certainly wasn't going to just stop his push onward. If anything, being met with resistance would just churn him to slam in harder - ergo the very second that one sword-hungry limb left the fight to resist those triangular shaped flames of hell, Barsait would indeed sieze this moment to absolutely ram his upper body into the push. There was no doubt a man whom predominantly utilized an art involving removing a sword from its sheath could do so quickly - but literally every instant he had that arm away, be it the initial release, the initial grasp of the handle, the moments it took to withdraw the blade - all were with just one limb being forced asunder.

But, Barsait wouldn't lose his head over gaining a potential deadly blow, either. As he rammed the smoldering flames ever closer to their goal.. his knees, mesh covered as noted before, did something most entertaining: they bent forward, boot treads sliding along the soil to help. It was ironic how direly Takamura desired to bend Omi over this entire battle, because he was now essentially a humanoid "U" with the open side facing the Battousai.

Why? Two-fold: so the estranged samurai would find it difficult to just breach his way through Omi's lower half, and so Barsait could easily gain some crab-walking maneuverability. Ergo, as the blade-drawn fellow began to side-step, Barsait - eyes glued downward - would calmly do the same. Despite how "natural" the stride was, it was about as transparent an action as could be. Pushing ahead would only mean collision with the katars one way or another, pushing back would only allow Omi to utilize the burning ground in some manner or form - trying to escape via a movement to the side in order to get more distance for a proper sword slash, that made perfect sense. Too much so, unfortunately.

No spin around the back would be plausible, given Takamura wouldn't be awarded the opportunity to move past Omi at this venture.

However, those flames that were just seconds ago licking the flesh of that foe restraining his pauldrons, would have more and more force applied to make them instead of licking, bite into the foe's visage. Especially given the earlier mentioned elongated serpent head would, with Omi flicking his tongue out menacingly, begin to stretch forward in a perfect line albeit very slowly in order to maintain shape.

forward was exactly what Takamura wanted, and exactly what he got. His next movements, weren't exactly cut and dry, they were much more fluid, more natural than one would imagine. Takamura moved certainly but it was the way he moved that made it seem impossible.

Takamura arm gave way, exactly as he had planned. Rotating the Saya around the body his used his opponents force against him, instead of trying to hold up to the increased weight of the attack Takamura simply stepped out of the way, but it wasn't s step exactly. While yes Takamura did infact step, he aslo rotated his saya around the pauldrons to guide their motions down and away from him as he sun almost in place, his free sword hand slicing downwards at the back of the mans neck, not trying to sever it, but just enough to show that he could, and hopefully for the man to concede.

If that failed Takamura was in such a position that he could literally roll over the mans back, putting him on the other side of his opponent and giving him a clear path to the mans face with they saya, which would surely break the mans nose. It all depended on hos is opponent moved.

Unfortunately for Takamura, Omi indeed stepped toe to toe with the good fellow, side-stepping in the indescribable direction right along with the opponent. Furthermore, unless the saya was a bizarre hook shape that could perfectly catch the pauldron mouths without letting the flames, already barely touching the swordsman's face, digging right into the fellow's face since said saya would need to enter the pauldron "mouths" a good 3" or so before hitting anything solid - the fellow would have far less to worry about then somehow raising a katana past Barsait's shoulders and risen arms while swinging a katana blade down onto the back of 'ol Omi's neck without ever having gotten the sword past this point to begin with. He would need to worry about a tan of indescribable proportions.

If this was indeed how events transpired, the samurai's skin, eyes, likely even the eyebrow hair would be far beyond singed thanks to the 2' and growing length flaming "blade." The unfortunate price attached to making a mistake when in close proximity to a point of danger: damage, and in more unforgiving circumstances, death.

The sidestep, not only anticipated but expected. This allowed Takamura to step into his opponent and, rotating his body, roll not only away from th flames, but over his opponents back. The motion was then carried through when Takamura landed on the other side to swing the saya upwards at his opponents face, hopefully breaking the mans nose.

Now was not the time to concede, the man could direct the flames as he willed, but it would serve no purpose while Takamura was locked toe to toe in such close quarters. While true the Katar had the advantage here, they also had one distinct disadvantage. They were stabbing weapons, designed for quick attacks, the katana on the other hand, if not payed proper attention to, could be drawn across the skin. while the damage caused this way would be much less severe, it would be a weak point in his opponent that could be exploited later.
