how do I now if I got 252 evs?
You have to count the EVs you receive after each pokemon you take out.So if I beat 4 bidoofs in one battle,I would count 4 HP EVs in HP since one bidoof gives 1 EV.Then do another battle against 4 bidoofs so I have 8 EVs in HP total so far and just keep adding up the numbers until it reaches up to 252 EVs.This is of course without the power items or macho brace.You're going to have to look up on the internet on what pokemon gives how many EVs or what type of EVs they give.All of this was basically what @nikomas said.You should really pay attention more.
