It took Fred a moment to realize someone was addressing him. He had heard her, but was turned toward the table and merely thought the greeting had been directed at someone else nearby. He choked on a brownie he had been sneaking under his mask, but quickly swallowed it and swung around.
"Thanksnicedress!" He sputtered at her. Fred still somehow believed that he could get by with shyness and get somewhere. He had made no movement to improve and simply thought If he could present his work to the right person, he'd get a start and work his way up. He thought since his work took no speaking, no performing, no audience, that the business aspect of it could work the same way. Reality had slowly been showing him the contrary.
Ee-gads!, he thought. Who was this? Did they want something from him? His money? Relief from boredom? ... His soul? As yes! Surely she was a beautiful witch in disguise out to harvest the very essence of his bein-
Fred forcefully ended the thought before he would get carried away and asked, "Howareyoutonight?!"

"Thank you; made it myself." Renee smiled, wondering if she'd startled him somehow. The deer-in-headlights look to his eyes certainly suggested it. Almost selfconciously, she smoothed her skirt, glad somebody else approved: she always enjoyed an anonamous compliment for her work.
"I'm doing well," she answered after she'd taken a moment to figure out what he was saying. Poor thing, he seemed really nervous, or maybe just high-strung. Some people were like that.
"Milton certainly knows how to entertain," she added with a nod towards the skeleton crew. The haunting melody had an etereal touch to it, and Renee found herself swaying ever so slightly to the tune. Once she noticed, she stopped - the last thing she wanted was to look like she was tipsy or something.
"How about you? How are you this evening? Enjoying yourself?" She hoped she wasn't giving him too many questions at once.

"Hm, well if we're giving hints about our professions, then I suppose it is fair to reveal that I'm a model," Ana said very proudly. But she couldn't stop there, she needed to brag more! After all, she wasn't sure who she was talking to. Perhaps he knew people in the fashion industry and can help her meet people. And in the entertainment industry, connections are everything. "I've been working with Hannah Wintour recently. You know, the editor in chief of Chic magazine. We worked together on the outfit I'm wearing. You may have seen me on the cover of Chic earlier this year, in the January issue. It was received very highly." Ana stopped herself from bragging any further. She couldn't help it, once she started, the words just flew out of her mouth. Forcing herself to shut up, she started to rapidly drink what was left in her martini, covering her face in shame. How many drinks was that? Two? Three? She needed to slow down.

Tour? Did that mean this woman could actually be famous then? Riley was a bit intrigued, she didn't SEEM like how Riley had imagined (and seen) superstars to be like. Maybe the person had just opened for someone famous. If she was a big name though, Riley thought it was nice to be able to talk one on one with her, with no bells and whistles or entourages or anything. "I traveled a little when I was younger. I've never been to Australia though. Did you have time in England to see Big Ben? I liked that the best!" she bounced a little when she spoke about Big Ben. She actually hadn't traveled that much, her family had taken one single trip to London, before dancing had consumed her life, after that there had never been time, so she had thought fondly of that trip. Riley turned a pirouette. "I'm a dancer," she said, smiling. Shew knew she didn't HAVE to accent it with the spin, but it was always so much fun! "A singer, huh? What kind of music do you do?" ______________________________________________________ Lady in BlueShe had been laughing loudly and heartily, the center of attention, with a group of people in a back corner, when a flash of something had caught her eye. Excusing herself (in the most dramatic way possible, of course), she followed the flash. Approaching the buffet table, which had called to her all evening (but she was on a diet...so she had just had a feeeeew small things), she finally saw the source.
The most beautiful pair of shoes she had ever seen. She wanted them desperately, but it was so much harder to be influential when your face was completely covered. And she knnnneww she wasn't SUPPOSED to say who she was, but she could help but blurt it out to the back corner group.
But no, this would be a good experiment. Maybe she still had enough flash and charm to get them without them knowing her name.
She started laughing and walked up, when she realized that they weren't actually...laughing. Well, damn, that normally worked. The woman in blue cleared her throat, and realized what the girl had said a moment ago. There was only one reason to come to such a high end party in a home-made frock, which, after sizing it up, wasn't half bad, was to advertise one's self. It had a slightly couture feel too it. She didn't know if SHE'D wear it, but it seemed to suit this young girl.
"You made that yourself?" she said. "That's just amazing, girlfriend! I love the ruffles down here. It reminds me of..." she was about to go into detail about a shoot from '95, where they were dressed as candy and sugary things, and he had to pose sweet but sassy, and of course after finishing the story, she would have posed the way she had for the shoot. But she was trying to hid her identity! She'd give herself away if she did that (nevermind the person might not know who she was. That was unthinkable). "Of a dress I wore in the past," she finished a little lamely. Damn you Lorenz. What had possessed him to take away her IDENTITY? Overly Ripped GentlemanHe came in the door and posed, flexing his arms as he did. When no one turned and swooned at his body and absolutely GORGEOUS smile (if he did say so himself!), he huffed. Stupid masks, this party was going to suuuuuck. He strutted around, idly listening to conversations, hoping to find people he knew, or at least people who would recognize him, through his partial mask and give him the recognition he so greatly deserved. As he walked behind people, he'd hover and pose. Hover and pose.
Finally, he looked across the room, and saw a couple, one very beautiful woman (well no, he couldn't exactly see her face, but that BODY. Daaaaammn, girl) and a...ah hem, rather scrawny male...that was a male, right? He smirked. He couldn't quite tell. Well, it was time to relieve that...man of his very attractive company. He stopped at the bar, and walked over with two drinks, catching the end of her speech.
"A model?" he said in a smooth, alto voice. "You know, I could have guessed that just from looking at you. You've got what it takes, girl." The overly muscled man looked her up and down, with more of an appreciative eye, than a lusty one. He handed her one of the drinks in his hand and took the empty martini glass from her and deposited it on a passing by waiter's tray. He took her free hand and kissed it lightly, but in a showy manner. "I know we're not supposed to introduce ourselves, so I'll just say it's a pleasure to meet you, Miss."
Boy, was he gonna look like an a** if she turned out to be someone he knew (even more so if it was anyone he had embarrassed on TV!).

Renee's attention was divided as a fully masked woman came up behind them, laughing a little too loudly. Or maybe it just seemed that way because she and the young man hadn't been. She angled slighlty to include the newcomer into the conversation, postitioning herself to a point where she wouldn't be in the way of anyone else traipsing towards the buffet.
"Thank you," she said witha small smile and a nod towards the woman in the flowing blue gown. Truth be told, Renee had wondered if she was perhaps showing off too much by admitting to her own design, but really, she had to find a way to make her mark in the business, and if showing up publicly in her own creations was the only way, then she'd do it.
If she'd known the thoughts of this other woman, she might have handed the shoes over then and there: Renee didn't mind heels, but these were a little too tall for her own preference. Curse her being so small!
"Oh?" Renee tilted her head to the side. "Have you modeled before, then?"

Just when Brodi was about to speak, a burly man quickly overshadowed him, and almost pushed him out of the way. Brodi quickly maneuvered around him so he wouldn't be accused of bumping into the other man.
Well, that went well... He thought as he looked over the large man. "It was a pleasure Miss Flutterby." He said quickly as he snuck back into the conversation. Before He could seem rude, he walked off to mingle with others.
He looked around, once again, trying to find someone he might know.

"Wa---" Ana meant to call the young man she was talking to back, but he walked away too soon. Instead she was stuck with an overly muscular gentleman. Sure, she liked a toned man, but this was borderline absurdity. But she couldn't be rude. "Why thank you. And its a pleasure to meet you too, sir. So, are you some kind of athlete?" She thought perhaps baseball, simply because she tends to associate that sport with steroids, which she thought he must be on to have type of physique.

Extravagantly Dressed Woman"I did!" she said proudly. "It was beautiful, my husband and I took a beautiful picture with the Big Ben in the background, it was a wonderful night." She stopped and watched the girl give a small dance move and was impressed by how well she could dance in that outfit, even if the move was simple. "I usually do R&B or soul, some pop, sometimes some hip hop. That was a very impressive move. I'm a bit of a dancer myself," she paused. She didn't want to give away too much information, but it wouldn't hurt to give another hint, would it? "I was dancing in one of my most recent music videos and the dance and the video became wildly popular." Some may say it was one of the best videos of all time. Of all time. "So, you're a dancer? Hm. You know, I'm putting together another music video for my latest single, you should audition." She looked for a contact card in her purse and nearly handed it to the girl, but it had her identity written on it, so she hesitated and put the card away. "I'll give you this at the end of the night." Blonde in Bumblebee DressThe party scene was her home. She walked into the room proudly, thinking way too highly of herself. She grabbed a hot appetizer from a tray as a waiter walked by and popped it into her mouth, but quickly had to spit it out into a napkin. "That's hot!" She tossed the napkin away, hoping nobody saw her disgusting act and scoped the room until she eyed a young man on his own. After recently entering an 'off' stage in her on-and-off relationship, she could use a boy to flirt with. She made her way over to him and flashed him one of her favorite smiles. "Hey there sexy," she said with a wink. Yup. She had no shame.

Riley had been about to take the card, but put her hand down when the other pulled back. Riiiight, she supposed that would ruin it. Ah well (she had kind of been excited to learn who it was under the mask). "R&B, huh? I watch music videos alot, to try to keep up on the latest dance moves, maybe I've seen it before." The dark haired dancer tilted her head to the side. "So...How did you get started?" she had always wanted to ask some of the big names that, but had always been a bit to nervous for it. This seemed like a good opportunity to hear someone's story. ______________________________________________________ Lady in BlueIntense dark eyes peered out from the eye holes of the full mask that adorned the woman's face. She laughed, rather harshly. "Have I modeled before?" she repeated. "I've been modeling since I was in High School!" She would normally go into her other achievements, such as booking more shows as a newcomer than had been previously heard of. But she was trying to be modest tonight. And the girl might already know about her life, if she was into the fashion and modeling scene.
"How many runways have you done?" she asked curiously. "I'd might be interested in working with you in the future," she said. It seemed a little presumptuous for a model to say that she'd work for a designer, normally it was the designer that hired the model, but the woman felt she could do more for the designer than the other way around. Overly Ripped GentlemanThe man smiled, a bright, toothy grin, partly at her question, and partly because of how quickly the other boy had excused himself. it was good to know he could intimidate people just a *little* bit. "No, no, nothing of the sort," he replied. He flexed his arms a bit, semi-unconsciously.
"What kinds of shows have you done?" he asked. "I bet you'd look good in any designers stuff." He wondered if it would be weird to ask her to walk for him. He had been spending much of his time on a show as a consultant and judge, and he liked to think he was a good judge of models.

"I've been mostly doing shoots lately, working with Hannah Winter of Chic magazine. You may have seen me on the cover of this January's issue, the 'Au Natural' fashion line," she beamed. The man seemed to know a bit about fashion, so perhaps he was more or less familiar with her work. "Are you a model as well? Or a designer?" Ana could use a new designer to work with. She enjoyed the success that working with Hannah has brought her, but Hannah was a total devil woman. She had made a friend at the agency, Renee, who is a designer, but she hasn't arranged a gig. Perhaps Renee was here tonight! She'd have to keep an eye open - when the masks come off, of course.

Extravagantly Dressed Woman"How did I begin?" she repeated the question, not quite sure where to start. "When I was a teenager, a few friends of mine formed a girl group together and we were endorsed pretty heavily by my parents and agents. One thing led to another really fast, the next thing we knew, we were selling platinum records. But we've broken up since and I've taken the solo route. Its done fairly well to say the least." She didn't want to brag about her career. She liked her reputation of being the classiest lady in the business. "How about you? Where did you start out, or what brought you to be a dancer? And at Walk of Fame? You must be very talented to be accepted."

Renee's innocent question came with results that were a little rough around the edges, and she blinked at the woman's harsh laugh, paling ever so slightly. The eyes boring into her own were like liquid dark pools, intense and a little patronizing, as though this mystery woman fully believed that Renee should already know who lurked behind the shadowy mask. Almost nervously, she tucked a wayward strand of her glossy black hair behind her ear. All the sudden, it seemed like every little thing stood out and was determined to annoy her - like the way the plumes kept dangling in the corner of her vision.
"High School?" she asked politely, obviously impressed. "That must make you rather esquisite, then." Desperately, Renee tried to think of who this woman might be, but as it was, she was adept at dangling only tiny bits of information. So, since the lady was obviously famous to some degree (or at least felt that way, herself), Renee gave the slightest of bows, along with a small smile.
"It would be an honor to work with someone who has such talent and experience." Nope, no buttering up here. Not at all. Honestly, Renee sort of missed Ana, who had at least been polite, if not friendly. Fame must really get to people's heads sometimes -- the fashion designer just hoped she didn't turn out that way, too.
"Actually, I had a recent experience with the runway, myself," she admitted. "I've been working with the Walk of Fame agency, and did a charity event for diabetes awareness." A sudden thought struck her -- what if this woman, who could obviously further her career if Renee played the right cards, found her boring?

Brodi walked around, onve again looking for someone he might know. He always hated being in a big crowd, epically when he didn't know anyone. Having everyone's face hidden made it even worse. He hated that awkward feeling,
Someone in a brightly colored bee themed outfit caught his eye. He chuckled when he saw her spit out the appetizer, glad he wasn't the only one who thought they tasted strange.
He smiled down to her, blushing a little when she called him sexy. "Hello." He said as he adjusted his mask, "How are you tonight?"

Blonde in Bumblebee Dress"I'm doing great," she said with a flirtatious smile. She swiftly changed her expression to a large frown and made a tiny puppy dog whimper, something she thought would be cute and flirty. "But I'm so lonely, I don't have a date for tonight." She rolled back her shoulders to puff out her chest, pushing her body closer towards his and then reached her arm around the boy's backside to his shoulders and gently touched the shoulder on his opposite side. "You have some lint," she lied, just looking for an excuse to touch him. She pretended to brush off the imaginary lint and then giggled, teasingly biting on glove covering the fingernail of index finger with a coy wink. If there was one thing she knew how to do, it was how to flirt tactlessly.

Brodi was taken aback when she got closer, and was even more surprised when she reached behind him. Wow... I guess all this secrecy is making everyone more spontaneous... He thought, Unless she's normally like this.
He tried to think if he knew someone that would be this outgoing. It definitely wasn't Riley. The girl had the wrong figure to be her. It could be Kacey. But he could swear she had brown hair, not blond. Then again, she could have gotten her hair dyed, or it was a wig. Either way, he couldn't rule her out completely. She had been all over him at the dinner party and Sheldon and Holly's wedding.
"Thanks." He smiled lightly, trying to play the fool, "This jacket is hard to keep clean." He tried to make small talk, but he had never been good at it. Especially when someone was coming onto him.
