Wielder looked up, to see a sight that would make gods shudder. A ship, floating in the air, with some kind of majesty Wielder would have difficulty describing. As the cannons pointed his way, he opened a portal beneath his feet, letting him out high up in the air, a short flight away from the ship. Before he could get a good look at the figure at the bow, however, Wielder found himself under attack by a swarm of Griffins. It took him some time to clear them off, taking a a fair few scratches and cuts, but they all fell down to earth by his Kyuukyoku.
He searched the ship for the figures from moments ago, but there were none there. He looked left and right, and finally down. There, he saw a familiar cape, a familiar magic, a familiar blade, letting out a laugh of triumph, one Wielder had grown accustomed to hearing.
He zoomed down towards him, head first. When he got close enough, he shouted as loud as he could, a wide grin on his face, "TOOK YOU LONG ENOUGH, YOU FUGGIN b*****d!" He landed right in front of his ally, took two steps and socked him lightly in the shoulder. "That's for leaving one of your friends to fight a frickin war, and not lettin him know when the hell you'd be back!" He laughed, loud, his way of celebrating Xeg's return.

Xeg almost jumped as Wielder appeared to celebrate his return, socking him in the shoulder. The members of Xeg's crew on the ground with him immediately started going for their weapons again, but stopped when Xeg broke out in a wide grin again. "Wielder!" Xeg roared in delight as he spun his comrade in a crushing embrace. Letting go, he clasped his friend's hand. "I didn't know whether I'd ever be able to come back and help you finish off this war. Looks like I arrived just in time."
Xeg suddenly remembered that he had his old crew back with him. He realized Introductions were necessary. "Ah, crew, this is my good friend Wielder, actually he's basically my best friend I had while in this realm. Wielder, these are some of my strongest fighters from the Destiny Ship; That's Yami, my third in command" The black haired, red eyed stranger nodded ever so quickly at the mention of his name, "There's Scithio," An elf with a multicolored hairdo gave a gracious bow, "And Exain, Sorin, Nathaniel, Cass, Sakura, Soradai, and Ethin." Xeg said, pointing to each person in turn. Each man or woman gave a little bow or small curtsy, and then they all resumed their positions.
Unnecessary, however, because at that moment another volley from the ship opened up and obliterated another wave of demons. At the moment, they were theoretically guarding the only way to the castle, because the cannonballs had upturned the earth all around it, forcing the demons to be led through a funnel which led directly to them. "Oh yeah, Up on the ship is my second in command, KZN02. He's probably directing the firing of the cannons."

Nero's eyes looked upon the two TerrixDarrik in front of him. They were preparing for what they thought would be an easy fight; summoning wards and charging themselves with magical energy. Nero had no reason to not kill them, so he charged up his Plasma Particle Cannons in an effort to parry the inevitable attack. One said in a slithery dark tone, "Inhuman, yet of human origin. But mystery liessss beneath this one... Heh,Hehhhh..." Nero grimaced, he was getting tired of their stalling. It seems that he would be the one to attack first.
But, algorithms showed that a new entity was joining the battle. Oh, the surprises came by the truck-load today. After some watching and waiting, Nero could scan to notice Wielder homing towards the source, which Nero would soon find to be Xeg. "Surprised I haven't seen him earlier." Nero said to himself under his breath. His eyesight switched from Xeg's position to the now closing in TerrixDarrick. "Well boys," He said loud enough and directly at them for their 'ears' to hear. "'Looks like I am no longer needed here. You've got other things to worry about." He warned them coyly as he pointed towards the sky.
With that, Nero's rocket thrusters initiated and sent him flying upwards and away from the battle, just in time to watch the TerrixDarrick become obliterated by celestial cannonballs.
He flew north, away from Nordesvok to nowhere in general. He felt something coming through his head, and he didn't like it. Something was trying to take over, something that seemed to fade Nero's very righteousness away. "Incorruptible... You're Incorruptible..." He thought quickly and rudely toward himself. Nero closed his white eyes, and when he reopened them, his optics became a darker, more sinister shade of gray.

After their part of the introductions, Wielder gave a quick deomnstration. He raised his right hand, and summoned and dismissed all seven of his swords in rapid succession, as he said, "General Wielder, second-in-command of the Gaian Mercenary League, and master of the ancient warriors known as the Wielders, hence my title." His Tsukikage was now in his hand. He turned it to fire, and gave it a flourish, before finally cutting, and burning, an Illikin behind him, trying to get the drop on him.
He heard in his earpiece a radio comm. "This is the aerial contingent. We've arrived at the combat zone. Where do you need us, sir?" To which, Wielder replied, "Sanitize the air! Watch out for TD's, and stick to your wingmen." He turned back to Xeg and his crew. "Alright, time for celebration will come later." He had returned to his command mentality. "Field briefing: Welcome to Nordesvok. Population has dropped 97% in the last twenty four hours. The remaining populace is holed up in the dome behind you. We got an *ss-load of demons movin in on 'em. Our job is to keep 'em at bay until they run away or die, the latter being preferable. We'll have assets moving in over the next five minutes. We don't know if they've got reserves or not. Current count..." He checked the stats on his eyepiece. "18,352."

☸☸Ratchet Lombax☸☸Ratchet had been walking for sometime on the bridges when a transport copter had came down in front. Ratchet got on the transport as it took of and went out past the mountains to the sea. Fiona was on the transport also sitting across from him. Ratchet had a blank expression on his face while the copter was moving along its path.

Damian looked over the battlefield. Only the day before Edgesworth was a healthy, bustling city of approximately 110,000 people. Now this city only existed of the three thousand civilians and two hundred soldiers holed up in the Royal Palace of Earth. 106,800 people dead in a mere 24 hours in this city, countless others outside. The Triumvirate had simply disappeared before the attack, leaving the Guardians of Earth and Sky's Shields leaderless before the onslaught. Piece by piece, through pointless last stands and impossible holding actions, they were eaten up and systematically destroyed during the long retreat to Edgesworth. Just the two hundred under Damian's control remained.
In the temporary absence of action caused by the ship parking its cannons straight on the only approach, Damian finally had time to think. One thing bothered Damian, Why had the enemy suddenly gone stupid? They had the advantage in numbers, they had the advantage in mobility, they had magic and weapons. Why aren't they pressing their advantages? It's almost as if they were waiting for something.
Damian angled his viewpoint behind himself, staring down the long hallway leading to the civilians there. It looks like Salvation is true. Even with their advantages, the demons are unlikely to stand before those aberrations in that damned ship. It's only a matter of time until these demons are finally go-Damian's thought was cut off as his radio turned on. "Sir, radar just picked up several fliers directly above the dome! SHII-Several large objects just separated from them, aimed straight at us!"
While the unknown Guardian shouted on the radio, Damian's eye tracked and zoomed in on the fliers. It was fairly obvious what had happened as eleven rocks roughly 3 meters across barreled their way directly straight down at the dome.
"Someone engage those rocks! They'll destroy the dome!" Damian transmitted across the GML bands.

☸☸Ratchet Lombax☸☸Ratchet had made it to the far beaches of Nordesvok and was getting ready to land at the HQ. Off to the side was a small craft headed from a far off island to the GML. Ratchet seen it yet pays little notice after a tower blocks his sight of the flying object. Ratchet was now landing at Ex-ops beaches..

Wielder heard Doomshot over his earpiece. He noticed on radar one of the warhawks dogfighting a few of the remaining griffins just overheard. "Mobius three, high value bogies over combat zone! Engage!" He looked up to see the warhawk switch into hover mode and wheel around to target the rocks. The sound of the dual machine guns on its nose filled the air, and fragments of rock and spent metal fell to the dome top at a leisurely speed.
Wielder breathed a sigh of relief. "Rocks neutralized, Doomshot." There was a short pause between his message and an alert on his eyepiece. The enemy numbers were rising, fast. "Christ, how many guys do these pricks have!? The numbers rose... 20k... 30k... Wielder brought up a portal and starting pulling out eyepieces, offering them to Xeg and his Crew. 40k... 50,000 targets. They were all spawning in the same circle as before.
The enemy didn't move. They didn't advance. They were waiting for their full numbers.
After ten minutes of inactivity- slow, quiet, uncomfortable -Wielder called everyone together. Doomshot, Nero, and Xeg & Co. The rovers were waiting around the ring of demons. Rover count: 27. The hover tanks had dropped from their aerial carriers, and had circled the Dome. Tank count: 8. Two AC-130's and the TacSpec were circling above. The Mobius Warhawk Squadron, the Ronin Custom Squadron, and three of the Feral Squadron, piloting Sylpheeds, were in the air above. Total aircraft: 17.
The enemy count had ceased rising about two minutes after it began. Final count was somewhere near 125,000. A couple hundred soldiers against over 125,000 demons. "Anyone else thinkin' 'bout Lord of the Rings?"

"I'm on my way, I had to clear my head." Nero relayed through his comm-link with Wielder. His eyes darkened from near-corruption, he halted immediately in the air. He hovered there for a moment, thinking of a plan. His mind was clouded; different variables were strewn across his HUD. This had happened before, like a virus, only this time it was his human side that was being corrupted, and is now reflected in his bionics.
But he wasn't completely gone yet. Nero decided to head back to the battlefield, close to his friends; he was under the assumption he could hold out long enough to get away from the people he didn't want to hurt. His rocket thrusters engaged again, and Nero was sent flying back to the battlefield.
Without haste, Nero was at the side of his comrades. He eyed over the growing troops, scanning each and every one for weak spots in their ranks. The lines and lines of demons were crude and improper. Their only strength was their numbers, and maybe a slight command by a TerrixDarrick here and there. Sadly, this made for a tedious and boring battle; something that Nero hates.
Nero prepared for war, his Overdrive I kicked in, and streams of data stretched from his limbs that turned from data to physical matter; dual plasma mortar launchers on his back, a lightning gun on his right arm, and an enhanced PPC in his left. Subliminally, Nero was trying to waste as much energy as he could before the fade completely took over.
It was only a matter of time. "I never saw it, but whenever you're ready, guys."

Yami spoke up for the first time right there, "The demons of the Infernal Abyss are limitless in number, spawns of evil that they are. The only limit is how many they dare send here."
Xeg accepted the Eyepiece Wielder offered him without question. The rest of the Crew around Xeg hesitated, however. Yami, Xeg's third in command, was the only one to take one, and after watching and copying Xeg, managed to put it on correctly. Immediately, the scanners on it filled his eye, causing him to jump in surprise. He spoke, saying "What sorcery is this device?"
Xeg grimaced, he forgot again that he was stuck between two worlds, almost opposite of each other. "Yeah, we're not too cutting edge on the future technology in my homeworld, Wielder. You should have seen me the first time I saw a Plane."
The lord of the Rings Joke, however, was lost on all of them.

Damian "Doomshot" Olivander Under the Destiny Ship Strategy Session
Doomshot simply nodded at the reading, he had already linked his mask to Wielder's eyepiece. He was unaware of Wielder's reference, perhaps he spoke of ancient myths or of future times. Either it mattered little with the circumstances in front of them.
"Do not worry, Wielder. This is not the worst I have faced, neither it is the worst you will face. We have the will of the GML behind us, and that counts for far more than mere numbers," he spoke through Wielder's radio, a quick look at Damian would reveal a large lump of dead circuitry that was once a speaker in his neck. Other than a voice on the radio, Damian was completely silent, unnaturally so. "Have you all the ability to transfer out the civilians? If we could do that, it would be trivial to level this place with atomics or magic," he continued after a brief pause. He shifted his body to place more weight on his sheathed sword, using it similar to a cane. His clothing and body underneath was terribly slashed up from the last twenty four hours of continuous fighting.
"Although I have an idea that might work. I'm going to try my magic," he announced. While it is true Damian's magic is notoriously unreliable, none could doubt its power. Even so, the effects of a directional explosion were common enough that he was willing to bet on it.
Damian moved several meters in front of the ship and aimed his arm out towards the enemy. Such a concentration of magical energies flowed out through the arm, that is was visible even to mundanes. The energy continued to flow out until it was a sphere three meters across and immeasurably powerful.
Then it happened, barely perceptible except to the most magically sensitive. Black tendrils of some sort shot out of a location inside Damian and latched on to the sphere and started to mold it into something else. What it would have became is unknown, because less than a second later Damian disappeared with the magic. There was no transition, one moment Damian and the sphere was there, the next not. Not even sound accompanied the event.
The only evidence that Damian was once there is the azure jewel he kept. It floated there in defiance of gravity, immovable to any force on the continent or the Fade.
(Sorry if it seems like I'm speed jacking, but I am uncertain about whether or not I will have internet in the coming weeks. So I may or may not reappear.)
