Ahh, so you'll be a seabee huh? Alright. I just got finished with my active duty contract, now I'm drilling back home myself. I'd have to say, being a dirt sailor isn't bad at all. So, you'll be up in San Diego for your "A" school correct?

I'm not to sure on where A school is going to be for me yet, I really hope I get San Diego.

The Navy is notorious for changing people's rates once they have them in contract. I had a buddy who was in to be an Intel Specialist, but his top secret clearance didn't go through, so they made him a Master at Arms... Luckily, he ended up with orders to be security personnel for the Blue Angels in FL... So, sometimes you'll get something nice, even when it isn't what you intentionally wanted.

Yeah. I'm young and opened minded so I can and will do anything that I have to do.
Also I have PT once a week. I'm so out of shape it sucks, luckily I have unlit March to get in shape. haha.

Don't fret. Even if you can't get to where you want to be before you go to RTC (Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes), your RDC's (Recruit Divisional Officer) will get you well in shape. I had lots of people in my old division who couldn't pass the PFA (physical fitness assessment) when they checked in, but we all passed... And you will, because if you can't pass it, they hold you back, and you'll have to spend EXTRA time in boot camp... And trust me, you DON'T want that.

I'm going to make sure, I can do what I need to and way more for RTC. My friend had to stay an extra week at army boot camp. I have heard that ppl get out of shape during RTC, what do you think about that?

Some people do, especially if your body is toned to a specific diet or workout regiment. That's because, well, you won't be able to continue it while in basic training for obvious reasons. Plus, their chow hall, although lists the calories and fat content for every food item they serve, don't stop you from getting anything there. Plus, depending on your RDC's, I know some that don't PT you as much as others, however, if you stick to a good diet, and even do a max set of push-ups and sit ups every night, you should be good.

Yeah, I don't really have a set diet, I'm lazy like that. Plus I, my self do not look at the calories or fat content in any food I eat. haha. I got to get my self to do push ups and sit ups everyday or every other day. Also just want to say if you do work out at night, make sure you have 3 hours before sleeping. I have forgotten the reason why. haha

So this summer has been great. All the other ppl in DEP status are a good bunch of ppl. We all work well together. A few weekends ago I got to see The U.S. Navy Blue Angels fly, met them, and got a pic taken with them. It was awesome.
I thought maybe you would like to know.
