Ari felt very comfortable around the blue and yellow male which as enough to convince the arrangement could really work. She stood up slowly and stretched her body to its full length, a languid yawn escaping her jaws.
“Alright, I accept!” she said with a cheerful grin. “It’s settled then. We’ll travel together.”
It was all rather exciting really. Changing everything all of a sudden, leaving everything behind (once again) but this time doing things right. She wasn’t quite as vulnerable as before, her small frame was more than enough to bring down a decently-sized prey and she’d have an escort to keep her company… and probably protect her if the need would ever arise. Yes, this could definitely work.
“I have to work things out with the leader. I’ll see you tomorrow, Hektor.” She shook the dust off her once more before breaking into a bouncy trot towards the Kutumbakam pride lands.

"I'll be here Hinyari. I promise!"
Hektor waited there all night, true to his word. If she returned early in the morning she would likely find him dozing in a deep patch of comfy tall grass. This was familiar territory he wasn't really afraid. Besides if anything dare approach him he would hear it long before it would reach him, the grass wasn't exactly quiet.

Hinyari met up with the blue and yellow lion the next day and the day after and the day after that one as well. She made sure the pride had a proper substitute for her position before she finally decided it was time to bid her goodbyes and leave for good. It was not without a feeling of loss that she passed Kutumbakam border for what she knew would be the last time. As the familiar scents grew weaker she often looked back with grief, missing many things already.
Still, it wasn’t enough make her regret her decision, on the contrary, the spotted lioness was more than ever convinced that she’d made the right choice. There was a time to settle down. And there was a time to crouch down to the ground, crawl her way closer to a certain blue and yellow lion and jump him by surprise… over and over again. Which was exactly what she was doing right now.

Hektor continued to wait patiently in between her visits, leaving the waterhole only to hunt small game or go for the occasional jaunt. It was quite considerate of her to make sure the pride could make up for her position in her absence.
The blue and yellow male was settled in the grass beneath a small tree at the water hole. It wasn't much but it offered a decent measure of shade. His eyes were closed but he wasn't sleeping, simply enjoying the slight breeze coming off the lake. An ear twitched at the sound of something moving through the grass. He rumbled and rolled onto his side, tail flicking back and forth lazily.
If it was Hinyari, he was prepared this time.

Hinyari dropped lower the minute she saw the blue and yellow lion move. Darn! She really needed to practice a little more as it seemed Hektor almost always heard her, caught her scent or just generally felt her presence before the lioness managed to get a good surprise pounce. Right, that would be her goal from now on! She would sneak up on him as frequently as possible until she managed to land a got hit on him when he least expected it.
On the inside there was a giggle resonating. On the outside, however, the spotted girl carried her typical wicked grin, crouching silently on the ground. Not without some difficulty, she forced her tail to remain still when it clearly wanted to wave playfully from side to side.
Come and get me, she thought to herself.

Hektor grumbled when the noise stopped. Maybe it hadn't been Hinyari after all and he was just imagining things? Silly old man. The blue and yellow male chided himself.
He got up and headed toward the watering hole. His muzzle dipped into the cool water and he lapped at it lazily. The sun was climbing higher and it was getting toward midday. Where was she anyway? He raised his head and looked across the lake toward the Kutumbakam border, sighing d when he saw no delicate figure on the horizon. She would be back soon enough, perhaps she had just gotten held up?
Hektor was clearly distracted as he headed back to his spot beneath the shady tree. Perhaps this was the opening Hinyari was looking for?

Oh, he didn’t see her. Barely able to conceal her excitement, Hinyari felt like she was about to explode. She waited until he started drinking to move closer and froze when he looked back. This was just like hunting only so much more fun and well… pointless. Unless the point was enjoying herself - in which case, it was working out perfectly!
When Hektor started moving she quickly predicted his next steps and easily discarded the idea of waiting to act until he was lying on the ground. He would catch her scent soon – even though it was already partly lingering in the area due to her frequent visits – but honestly, she just couldn't wait any longer.
The spotted lioness came out of the tall grass with a powerful jump, fully intending on slamming against the male.
“Gotcha!”

"Gotcha!
Hector looked just in time to see Hinyari leaping at him. "Ah ha! Ooof!" He stumbled and fell into the grass when the smaller lioness landed on him, effectively knocking the wind out of his lungs. "Got me indeed." The blue and yellow male grunted and smiled at the spotted lioness. He would've laughed if he had sufficient air to do so.
"Feeling playful today, dear Hinyari?"

The lioness laughed as the male fell, letting the momentum propel her body over him and landing heavily on Hektor. She laughed again but didn’t move. She was panting just a little from the small sprint but looked absolutely ecstatic.
“As usual...” she answered with a grin, still not getting off the blue and yellow lion. When wasn’t she feeling playful?
“Everything’s settled.” Hinyari stated, head turning in every direction as if trying to guess where’d they’d go next. “So… where are we going?”

"I usually head where ever my paws feel like taking me. I know a few places that are nice this time of year if you wanted to venture somewhere specific." Hektor tilted his head and shifted a bit to get more comfortable. "Unless you have some place in particular you would like to go."

“Mmm…” the lioness started as she observed their surroundings. Finally, she rolled off the blue and yellow lion and stood up. “Well, where do your paws feel like going?”
She smiled and batted playfully at one of his paws for good measure as if directly speaking to them now.

Hektor chuckled and got up as well. "Hn..." His gaze slid back and forth across the horizon. "That way perhaps?" He motioned off toward the horizon. It wasn't anywhere in particular really, at least not yet.

“This way it is then.” Ari piped up happily bouncing off in the direction the blue and yellow lion had indicated. “Are you coming, old man?” she teased him playfully with no malice, grinning at her new travelling companion.
“We’re quite lucky. The weather seems to be in our favor, Hektor.” The spotted lioness kept her eyes on the sky right up until she slipped and almost stumbled on her own paws with a discreet whelp. She quickly regained her balance with no apparent bruises – unless perhaps one were to consider her slightly damaged pride - and with a good-natured chuckle the spotted lioness was quickly back to her previous pace, gaze wisely set on the horizon this time.

Hektor chuckled again, starting after her. "It is, there hasn't been a cloud in the sky for a while now." He sped up a bit, making his way to her side when she stumbled.
"You alright, Hinyari?"
He guessed she must be since she seemed to be walking alright but it didn't hurt to ask.

The spotted lioness let out a slightly uncomfortable laugh, moving a little faster now.
“Ah, yes. All good.” She laughed again, not quite meeting his eyes. “I’m a little clumsy… I used to drive my hunting teachers crazy all the time. Speaking of which, do feel like finding something to eat?” Perhaps it’s was just her ego talking, the desire to show Hektor she wasn’t going to be a burden suddenly becoming a priority after the little slip but Hinyari did look particularly eager all of a sudden – despite the fact that she wasn’t hungry at all really.
