Tien can stay at least through a quarter of the fight if not half. Yamcha sneaks his pinky toe into the battle and gets demolished in z. he was better in dragon ball and still Tien was better then him. xD

I'm gonna go Tien on this one. Yamcha's tactics earned him a possible edge during DB, but in DBZ it's gotta be Tien. I'll refer you all to the destructive capability of the blast cannon, and it's potency well into the series. For example, the time when he bought time for the others by attacking Cell. I don't think Yamcha's wolf fang fist could hold back Cell.

❛❛Yeah. I would be more pro-Yamcha if they had kept up the bandit thing. I'm a total sucker for a bad boy.
But he gets his a** kicked so much in Z (which I'm most familiar with) so I just can't help but think of him as a p***y.

tien no doubt they say they were about even at the end of it but i have my doubts tien still was training as if he was still an assain for the crane style

Tenshinshin definitely had more potential than Yamucha, considering how hax he was when first introduced in DB. Being able to learn any technique after seeing it once and then the ones he developed on his own (Kikoho, growing arms, splitting himself, etc. etc.) were too good when compared to Yamucha's Wolf Fang Fist and later his Soukidan. If nothing else, Ten has the edge because he worked harder training, since even by the time Z was finishing up, he was still off training with Chaozu in the wilderness.
However, as far as characters go, I like Yamucha so much more. Ten is an epic douche for most of Dragon Ball, even after he "reforms." Just can't compare to Yamucha's silly charm.
Plus, Puar wins as a sidekick but Chaozu ... not so much.
