:: Nicohlas was lucky that way, he didn't have a constant hawk, sitting upon his shoulder, waiting for him to misstep. Nan had her heart in the right place but she was very overbearing. The only peace that Helena would have from her was as soon as they were settled in and Nan grew to trust those 'foreigners' around her little snow sprite.
Helena took the seat across from Nico and admired his feet along with him... the moment his toes wiggled nearly went over her head as well but she didn't take as long to realize what had happened... "I'd really like a pair of bunny....slippers...." Her crystal blue eyes growing wider as she'd look down at his feet, wondering if it had been a trick of her mind... She was beginning to think that it had been when Nico too had stopped and started to stare down at his own feet in question... "Did....did you just... wiggle your toes?" She'd ask him in a halting voice, her mug forgotten on the table for this surprise... this -miracle- that had just happened before her very eyes....
Tokei was being a good puppy still.... watching the boy go round and round the yard on the back of the big animal as he sat there panting, tongue lolled out to the side of his mouth. Not taking his pale blue eyes off of Nathan but at the same time he couldn't sit still when he got off the horse and started towards him... his butt wiggled on the ground... wanting nothing more then to run and play and run some more! But he didn't move, he'd been trained well... So well that even when Nathan spoke to him a command he didn't understand he stopped wiggling and tilted his head to the side in a manner that asked 'What did you say?' ::

Nicohlas was afraid to look away. He was more afraid to try and see if he could make his toes move again. What if nothing happened? Or, what if something did? Nicohlas' hands gripped the cup a little harder. He could hear Helena questioning him, but his head...it felt sort of light. There was a unreal sense to this situation. Almost like when he had stood for the first time in years during his transformation. Nicohlas blinked his eyes and very softly replied. "I...I think I did..." What more could he say? His hands were literally shaking with the mug between them.
Nathan paused when the dog did not seem to come at his motion. What was wrong with it? It took him a few moments of thought before he realized that Come was probably not the right command. Who had ever heard of the word Bo for stay after all? Shaking his head, Nathan crossed through the snow to where the dog sat. Leaning down, he reached to scoop the animal up in his arms. "I can not leave you here. Your tail will freeze off. Let's get inside and get warmed up." He spoke amiably to the puppy before resuming his trek back to the house.

:: Tokei wagged his tail as he got picked up, his tongue going to work right away on Nathan's hand and face, cuddling in closer to him and looking about curiously as the boy would take him into the house... walking close to Helena would make the animal wiggle a bit in excitement but for now he seemed perfectly content to love on the human that was carrying him around.
...Helena would slowly reach out and take the mug from Nico before he spilled it on himself and ended up getting a nasty burn for all the shaking he was doing, safely putting it on the table before she'd put her eyes back down to his feet... "I know I saw something... those are... mechanical are they? Do they have a little motor in them that make the nose wiggle?..." she was trying to figure out what had happened, was he playing a bit of a joke on her? Well from the look on his face she didn't think so but one never knew. "Can I take them off?" she'd take the slippers off if he gave her permission, but still, she couldn't help but say, "do it again..." if he could.... had both of their eyes been playing tricks on them? ::
