Feeling her eyebrow give a twitch, She took in a deep breath, held it for a couple of seconds, then slowly let it out as she placed the violin under her chin. Her fingers glided up and down the neck of the instruments and she closed her eyes as she did a few warm up scales from memory.
Opening her eyes again, her red orbs rested on the sheet music in front of her and she easily dove into it. The notes fell off of her strings and drifted into the air as she let go of everything around her. Her eyes became slightly glazed as she focused on her music and only her music. Very slowly, her body began to relax.

Ah, violin music was great for while hero of the story was creeping down a darkened alley in hot pursuit of a murderer. It was just so... fitting. After while though, Ciaran found himself reading less, and just closing his eyes, listening to the music. She was quite good.

It didn't take Koorie very long to forget that she had an uninvited audience of one, and soon she was playing almost from memory as she went into the thoughtless hypnotic state that playing her music generally put her. She was calm and at piece, her usually raised hackles subdued by the flow of the notes.
When her playing finally ceased a good 5 minutes later, she let out a long, soft breath and closed her eyes against the wind. It felt so good to play, probably her only pleasure in life.

Ciaran found he'd closed his eyes to listen to the music. He was so appreciative of the tones. When Koorie had finished playing, he just sat there, listening to the silence for a moment, letting the memory of the notes hang for a moment. He opened his eyes and looked to Koorie. He toyed with the idea of applauding, but instead, smiled and faintly whispered "Yer a wee bit flat." It was a tease.

Instantly, at Ciaran's remark, Koorie tensed up and bristled a little. She shot a glare over at him and sneered, not caring if he was teasing or not. "The peanut gallery is a wee bit tone deaf then." She retorted back, annoyed.

Ciaran raised his hands in defense. "Y'might be right th'r. I meant no 'arm. Ya play divinely. T'was quite enjoyable. Thank you fer lett'n me listen." He shifted his book and looked at her. "Ya always play by yer'self?'

Koorie watched him with her scrutinizing glare, secretly enjoying the fact that she'd finally put him on the defensive. It was rather amusing to see people scramble and back peddle themselves.
"Typically, yes, unless I'm in class or in a recital or performance of some sort."

"Ya p'form? 'S amazin! Ya play oft?" He asked with genuine interest. He loved music, and was finding her completely fascinating. "Ya mind if I sit b'side ya? Rather than shout'n cross th'way like we are." He wasn't going to approach her if she didn't want him to, but he kind of wanted to talk to her more.

A rather blank stare came over her face, and Koorie had to forcibly get her mind to work again. "Not as often as I'd like to, unfortunately. I haven't found enough people with decent abilities and the time in order for a band to form."
Ciaran's next question took her surprise to the next level. After a couple moments of silence, she sighed and nodded. "Fine, whatever..." Apparently he wasn't afraid of bodily harm.

Ciaran smiled and stood, dusting himself off of loose leaves and dust before approaching Koorie and sitting on the bench. He wasn't close enough to touch her, keeping a respectable distance between them.
"Yer interested in hav'n a band? I thought ya were great by yer'self. Picked a lovely piece too. 'Ow long ya been play'n?" His eyes sparkled a little with delight. He was completely enthralled by her and her music.

Koorie watched him with guarded eyes, then her lips twitched a little into a smirk. "You have a twig stuck in your hair..." She remarked as he sat down near her.
With a shrug, Koorie looked down at the violin in her lap. "It's been a few years. I was bored and had a god awful lot of free time on my hands so I taught myself violin, piano and flute. As for the band, it's something I've been interested in for a while." She had, after all, grown up with voice lessons at a young age when her mother had discovered her talent in voice and her love of singing.

Ciaran smiled happily as he listened, though he tried pretty covertly to find the offending twig. "Yer amazin' Koorie. Really." He sat back and thought a moment. "So ya taught yer'self ta play? Musta had lotsa time to learn three inst'rments. 'Ve been interested n music a bit. Putter bout the piano n sing in a choir sometimes. But nothin fancy like that."

Ciaran really had no clue exactly how much free time Koorie'd had over the last 6 years. She had to learn music and the basic academics, or else she would have gone crazy just by having been around so many of them. She shrugged off all the compliments though as if they were nothing. Really, she wasn't trying to impress him or anything.
"I've been planning to get a degree in music and continue on professionally through a band. The only thing I've yet to do is get together a band that I plan on taking with me for a record signing." And with her family's connections, there was little doubt she'd get signed.

"Ah, 'ope ya do get a good career outta this. Yer so passionate bout it." his features softened some and his initial star struck adoration faded. "Koorie, ye go to Vally 'igh, right? Got the naggin feeling I seen ya b'fore but can't quite r'call."

Koorie wasn't nearly as worried about a career as most people would have been; she was confident in doing exceedingly well, considering the wide range of vocal notes she could hit as well as her ability to play multiple instruments. On top of that, she had natural good looks and her family was a strong monetary influence, even if she wasn't planning on using them unless she had to.
Raising an eyebrow, Koorie nodded. "Yeah, we go to the same school. I've seen you a few times in the hall... mostly I just hear about you from your stupid little fan club in the PE locker rooms."
