Well, whatever. Stupid regulations aside, I guess I should start with why I even joined the army in the first place, and, well, who I am, I guess...

Name's Jake, I'm 18...
okay this is stupid.
Anyways, reason for joining the war... well, I don't really have any good reason. Just needed to let off steam, I guess. This stupid war's been going on, for what, years? And no progress either way. Waste of time if you ask me.
Passage to the gate ain't privilege. It's a right. Why the heck should nobles be the only ones to gain access? What about the rest of us? Just 'cuz we don't wear no fancy crowns and robes, doesn't mean we should be denied what we deserve. I'll show them all we're more than just capable. We deserve our rights.
I know what it's like to see the harshness of war, all too well. All these 5 year olds who think they're doing it for fame and glory? Please. They don't know what they're up against. There's nothing that pisses me off more than kids trying treating war like a game. Guess who has the toughest time trying to tell the parents their stupid kid ran off and died?
Alright, going off on a tangent here. Guess I'm just angry and paranoid (pfft, aren't I always), anyways, I'l -DON'T YOU TOUCH ME KID I'LL PUNCH YOUR STUPID FACE IN, AGH- Okay, that's it. girly entry done for today. I'll go decorate it with hearts and flowers after I go pummel this kid and give the guy who made these mandatory a piece of my mind.

ENTRY 2 - That golden-haired girl

So, I ended up running into that chick again. Heh, she still calls me chocolate-mint. It's appropriate, I s'pose. Bittersweet and all. Everytime I see her, she seems somewhat lost in thought. What's her story I wonder? Why would a girl like her join the army? I really don't understand.
... heh, here I go prying my nose into other people's business. Why should I care anyways...
As "regulation", I had to engage her in battle, seeing as she stepped onto Noir land and all. Noirland, heh. Territory's a better word, I s'pose.
Despite her appearance, she really is an adept fighter. I guess I shouldn't be quick to judge.
To make the battle more interesting, I wagered a little bet. If I won, she'd have to spend a day with me. I... really don't know why I said that. I'd probably never see her again after this battle. I mean, I like her company and all, but... ugh, what am I doing?
It wasn't the smartest idea either, since after I made the wager, I started to falter. And if I lost, I'd have to... model clothes for her. GIRL clothes. As if losing wouldn't be humiliation enough.
Luckily, I pulled through in the end. Thank goodness for those training sessions... and verdant leaves. Who knew they actually tasted so good? (ohcrapI'dbetternotgetaddicted)
...Ugh, I'm tired.

ENTRY 3 - Blanc and Noir

Is it just me, or do I have a penchant for running into cute girls? This time, she's from Blanc, our "supposed" enemy. Or would be, if, if...
Ugh, I can't even bring myself to think about it. Not at this time. I don't want to remember... that wretched man who murdered her, who...
Just... thinking about it makes me sick. But this girl... heh. She's a lot different from that other girl. Acts like quite the lady, though a bit cocky. She hides her face with a veil, which I really don't understand. I can see a faint blush creeping over her cheeks as we fought, and it made me really wonder its to hide her face. Did she have the hots for me? I wouldn't complain if she did, ha. She's got a pretty face, and the bite to back it up.
Though not as tough of an opponent as the other girl, I did nearly end up faltering at the end. This is just proof that I'll need to constantly keep up my training. The day I lose to a girl... ugh, I don't even wanna think about it.
Several times I tried ending the battle early, but it didn't work out too well, and left me wide open for attacks on occasion. I really need to work on this technique...
In the end, I was able to pull it off, delivering a heavy blow to her and ending the battle. It went a bit TOO well though. I only hope I didn't cause her more harm than needed.
Poor girl. Seemed confused she was in Noir territory. But to be honest, I was kind of glad I ran into her. She kind of reminded me of... my mother.

ENTRY 4 - Eye to Eye

Ugh, I've had my first loss today. Not my first official loss, seeing as I ended up fighting that little 4-eyed nerd, but still. To lose to a squirt like him... really?
I don't even remember how it started. Everytime we see each other, we just started bickering. Hell, I feel like we're a marry coupled sometimes, constantly squawking at each other. Wait, correction. HE'S constantly harping on me about treating woman like trash. I don't even know where the hell he pulls this crap from. I treat them as they'd want to be treated. Who wouldn't want to have attention drawn to them? I think the poor boy's just attention-depraved. I think he just has the hots for me, constantly stalking me everywhere. I almost don't have the heart to tell him I'm not gay.
I think I finally pissed him off to some point that he demanded a match against me. Meh, perfect way for me to teach the squirt a lesson or two about battling. If he's just like all those other pansies who joined the army and no squat about it... oho, I gonna teach him a lesson he won't forget.
To my surprise, he was actually a pretty capable fighter. It wasn't even that long into the battle before I started struggling to keep up. His blows were relentless. It was like he bottled all that anger up from our past meetings and decided to wail it on my sorry a**. It's no surprise to say he ended up winning, much to my disappointment.
We made a wager that if he won, I'd have to stop calling him anything vertically-challenged or age-wise.
Heh. I may be a jerk, but I'm a man of my words. He may stop me from calling, but that doesn't mean I'm not exempt from it here. Though I have to admit the brat has more fighting credentials then I give him for.
Ugh, I guess this means more training is needed for me. No supper until I complete those thousand push-ups. What a pain.

ENTRY 5 - A new face

Huh, I got what I asked for. Ran into a guy this time. Seems he's from that neutral alignment I've heard about.
... Prophylaxis, was it?
I don't know too much about them. Just that they protect the gate? Waste of time if you ask me. What's there to protect anways?
It's not like it's gonna "get up and walk" away. And this whole news with the gate showing some sign... I really don't understand it all. All I know is that it's got everyone worked up about it. Even King Sable, and I don't think lots of things rattle him that easily.
Anyways, I ran into some dude... I don't think I caught his name. He had this weird fish thing with him. Must be the same as this stupid cactus that won't leave me alone. Why'd those scientists even create something stupid like him anyways? He's completely useless.
The kid did me a favour and felled that annoying blob in two fell swoops. That fish on the other hand... HOLY CRAP. I don't know if he's been feeding it drugs or something, but it hits MIGHTY hard. Been deflecting my attacks here and there.
I wittled it down to about half health, but I was already feeling dizzy from the attacks. I didn't even get a scratch on the guy. I COULDN'T EVEN DEFEAT A STUPID FISH, not even with the help of a bottle of that Last Gasp Nectar or whatever it's called. Fat lot that did me.
That was probably the fastest battle I lost. Goes to show how having the right things can tip a battle towards one's favour easily. I've got to get myself some stronger homonculi... one that ISN'T so annoying, and a bit more helpful.
Ugh, I had to use 2 verdant leaves from my stash to restore that thing. Two. Precious. Leaves. They don't freakin' hand those things out for free. Not with that stingy rook in charge. Ugh, guess I'm gonna have to suck up to her to get some more.

ENTRY 6 - Fiery Spirit

I think... I've just about fought someone from every alignment. Another girl this time. A hong girl. Huh, I keep running into girls. Not that... there's anything wrong with that. She's a lot different from blondie. Her name... escapes me. Come to think of it, have I EVER asked for any of their names?
... huh, this is something I need to change.
Anyways, she's a lot feistier. A little hot-head if you will, haha. Though, she seemed to have some interest in that stupid cactus... why I brought it with me again I have NO idea. Poor girl thought it was cute. I... really do not understand the taste of woman. How in the world could anyone find that chatty blob cute? I can barely sleep at night because of that stupid thing.
It didn't take too much to get her attention again. Fiery as always, heh. As usual, I hate dragging battles out, and tried to end it as soon as possible. I STILL cannot get that attack down. It's so finicky. Even after all that training... ugh. I've... really gotta work on my defense. I'd left myself open for so many attacks...
After so many failed attempts, she got enough hits on me to leave a mark. Her attacks started getting stronger too. It was too risky to leave fighting to luck. The stupid blob finally came into use I guess. Used it to tank a hit for me. I can't afford to waste any more of those precious leaves.
I didn't like it, but I had to resort to using one of those lucky charms I obtained from a merchant the other day. I've never used it before, but DAMN does it work. Better than I thought. It didn't take too long to end the battle, but I still feel kinda bad. I don't want to resort to tricks and such, but... this was important. If I won this battle, I'd finally be able to get promoted. I don't want to wait anymore.
Well, I guess I won in the end, and promotion won't be long after, but... I've really got to train more, and stop relying on these tricks and trinkets. True power comes from within...

ENTRY 7 - Preparation
08.25.11 After all that hard work, it's finally coming. I'll be promoted to a knight soon, and I guess I should do some things to prepare for the transition. First thing. A new set of CLOTHES.
I... usually don't do a lot of shopping. I actually just wore whatever was comfortable. Well, that, and we all pretty much had set uniforms. I wouldn't of been able to wear a different outfit even if I wanted to.
It's... actually really hard trying to pick out something decent to wear. I mean, yah, it's gotta be comfortable and all, but the message it conveys when you wear it... I don't want it to be no cliche armour and cape crap. Just 'cuz I'm a knight doesn't mean I have to be old school.
I finally settled on an outfit similar to this. It was going to have to be tailored and dyed to match Noir colour regulation, but after trying it on, it's comfortable, flexible, and, yah.
Afterwards, I went to a tatoo store, and got this tatoo on my right arm. Nothing says "don't mess with me" better than a huge friggin' dragon on your arm.
The last thing to pick out was my weapon. I didn't have a really good idea of what I wanted... I just knew I liked using both my hands in combat.
I came across something I liked. There was a pair of tonfas that looked something like this. Pretty epic-looking if you asked me.
Surprising, picking all these things out didn't take too long, and I was able to get back with time to spare to try them all on once more.
Heh, guess I should stop modelling and actually get some training done.

ENTRY 8 - New beginnings

It's been two years... but I'm finally a knight. No more uniforms. I get to pick what I wear now. Any my weapons...
Damn, I LOVE these tonfas. Lethal weapon or not, these things are epic. I can probably scar up some kid's face pretty bad with these, haha. That'll teach them a thing or two about getting on my bad side. Though I'm pretty sure I'd be reprimanded for terrifying the new recruits. Hell, I don't care. Just glad I'm finally out of the rookie circle.
I'm probably not the only one who got promoted. I wonder if that little nerd got promoted yet. What's his name again... Tokiya or something? Such a girly name, haha. I wonder what weapon he'd choose...
Oh gosh, if the poor kid chose tonfas... well, I'd suspect he'd pick any reason to have a fight with me. Anything to see me again, ha.
Hmm, what about those I fought recently? It's been a while since I've seen them. They probably got promoted too. Ha, what I wouldn't give to fight them again. Especially...
... dang, I can't get her out of my mind. I hope she got promoted. I kinda wanna just have a clean fair fight with her.
... huh, look at me. A noir talking about fighting clean. Anyways, it'd be something interesting, I guess. I just wanna test these babies out. Oh gosh I love these.
... what am I still doing sitting here and writing. I should go get some training done.
