The Ferrothorn took the hit, suffering from the intense amount of damage it received. However, the Thorn Pod Pokemon was a bit more resilient than most other Pokemon, so it remained steadfast on the battlefield. Reika smirked, then thrust her arm forward in a punching manner. "Alright, Midori-Oh! Hit 'im with Gyro Ball!" This was a move that the ninja woman had been preparing for: the increased Attack, plus the decreased Speed from the two uses of Curse meant that Gyro Ball's power was increased by fourfold, despite being not very effective. The Ferrothorn started spinning, starting out slow, then picked up speed until it spun violently. It then shot forward, aiming directly at the Lucario before it.

 G I N S H U t h e s h r i n e m a d i e n
Of course in the moment of silence the crowd seemed to have started moving again and Ginshu was swept up again in the movement before he could get his answer. Blast it all! Things were certainly not going Ginshu’s way today, and he had been so hopeful about this trip too… People weren’t very friendly at all in Unova it seemed. Ginshu was quickly becoming homesick, longing for the Lavender Tower’s familiar faces and rituals. About this time no doubt they would be cleaning the tombs and preparing for the nights ritual. He missed it very much.
In the end, Ginshu was swept up all the way to the pokemon center. Well that was certainly useful. Slipping inside the center before he could be pushed around elsewhere, the shrine maiden quickly found a seat and collapsed for a moment. Whatever should he do? Wherever should he go? Honestly, he was clueless. Glancing around the center though, he noticed a lot of what seemed to be pokemon trainers. Gathering up his courage, Ginshu gave a soft cough and tapped the man sitting next to him’s shoulder. “Ummm, excuse me. I’m new to this region and I don’t have any pokemon but… I was sent here by my family to become a trainer… do you… have any insights onto how to do that?” She smiled softly, blushing with a tad bit of embarrassment of just how clueless he sounded. The other man blinked and laughed, but not maliciously.
“Yeah of course I do. See, you’re sort of in the wrong city to start. If you wanna become a trainer, you need a pokemon. Go buy some pokeballs and catch something that strikes your fancy. Ah, but see if you’re gonna be a trainer the best way to train is to take the Gym Challenge. There are eight gyms per region you see, and here the first gym is in Striaton City. That’s south o’ here. T’ make your pokemon stronger you gotta fight with them yeah? Hnn… well since you don’t know anything here. Take this. It’s a Pokedex. I don’t really need mine anymore anyway, but you could really use it. Oh yeah and one more thing. Here. This is my number. Call me if you ever have any trouble.” Ginshu was astonished at the man’s kindess, tentatively taking the Pokedex and the scribbled piece of paper with the number. She blushed ever so slightly, glancing up at the man before smiling.
“O-oh my. Thank you so much!” Ginshu replied cheerfully, glancing down again and feeling the worn cover of the red pokedex. The red color suited it… Standing from her seat after a few moments of rest, Ginshu made up her mind to head south. Maybe if the roads were short enough, she could make it to Striation City before nightfall. Ginshu moved over to the pokemart counter and bought a quick supply of pokeballs and decided that it was now or never.
Of course, that could have been a poor decision as by the time Ginshu finally made it out of Nimbasa to Route 4 (With the aide of a map he’d had to purchase as well) there was a raging sandstorm. Of course, raging was an understatement, he couldn’t even see two feet in front of him. “Arceus help me…” Ginshu prayed softly before tugging up on her shirt to cover her mouth and nose. Now or never right? She set into the storm. Not only was it hard to see, it was hard to breathe and even walk in the sand. How did anyone ever pass through this sandstorm? Was it always this bad? And just as Ginshu thought to give up and turn around, a small little red ball caught her eye. But that was no ball… it was moving. Ginshu was curious… and quickly followed after it. From time to time it strayed from her sight but it always seemed to wait for her to catch up with it again. Just when she thought she would never see it again, the sandstorm abruptly cleared and she stood on the other side of Route 4, right now (if she remember properly) Castelia City. The little red ball was no ball at all. It was a pokemon. The small thing stood and waved at her, grinning widely. “Ah, it must have been you who helped me. Thank you very much my friend.” he smiled, reached down to pet the Darumaka lightly. “Say… we’ve only just met but… would you travel with me? I haven’t any pokemon of my own, but I’ve been sent from home to become a pokemon trainer… and since you’ve been so kind…” Ginshu asked softly, looking down at the little pokemon’s eyes. It contemplated this offer for awhile, unsure of weather it really wanted to be captured and used for battle. Of course, that would mean it would get stronger too…
“Dar dar.” he chirped back, nodding his head in affirmation. Ginshu smiled widely and pulling out a red pokeball.
“Is this ok for you?” he asked, careful to mind the living thing’s preferences. The Darumaka nodded and after a moment, he was captured. Of course, Ginshu immediately pulled him out of the pokeball to carry on his shoulder. “Thank you so much my friend. Ah, but… should I call you by any other name?”
“Daru da ru” he replied back, waving a hand dismissively. Ginshu giggled lightly.
“Very well Lance. You’re quite easy to understand you know. I’m glad I met you.”
All alone in an unknown place It can't be helped If I slowly feel it I'm sure I'll see it It's the first time since I was born, This territory Don't get scared and look forward, come now Let's step forward

"I've trained my entire life for this moment..."Reika stood silently and watched as her Ferrothorn took the Aura Sphere head-on, the attack sending the Thorn Pod Pokemon careening towards his trainer. The ninja remained motionless, only moving her leg to catch the dual-type with her foot, stopping it from spinning out of control. She grinned at the young Gym Leader, then removed a Pokeball from belt to retrieve her defeated Pokemon. "Good work, Midori-Oh. You deserve a break." she said, the red beam from the capsule withdrawing the Ferrothorn from battle. The woman smirked, snapping the Pokeball back on her belt and moving stray hairs from her face. "You're doing rather well, Princess." she stated as she removed a Net Ball from her belt. Reika then tossed the ball out in front of her, the capsule exploding in a brilliant flash of blue light. "But, let's see how you fair against..." "Akamaru! Use Aqua Tail!" she commanded, pointing in a dramatic fashion. The red-striped Basculin complied, rearing back before dashing towards the Lucario, whipping around at the last second and slamming his tail into his opponent. A powerful physical move indeed, especially when backed by STAB and Adaptability. "Now, show me how a true warrior does battle!"
