The stray dodged their movements, laughing outright at their attempts to harm him. He focused on the husky, obviously seeing him as the larger threat, and gave a powerful lunge. All his weight landed on Kaiden and he growled triumphantly, leaping away to refocus on Blayze.

Santos had been prepared to tackle the threat, but the akita leaped at Kaiden a fraction of an instant too soon, and he missed. He regained his footing and snarled at the stray, ready to attack again.

Blayze was not happy to have missed. The dog was much faster than she had thought. Growling again she rushed at the akita hoping to bite him.

Kaiden made vocal his disapproval for the retaliation, muscles tensing as he struggled to remain upright as the opponent struck him. He dared not lose his footing and fall when he was against such a large opponent and attempted to give the other a sound bite to tell it to keep its distance. But by then the stray had already gone, and his teeth closed over the empty air.
Moving to loosen his legs, he quickened his pace and aimed again, this time heading for the akita's shoulder to hopefully harm its leg and slow its stride.

He oumphs and hmmpfed, struggling under the blows. When he had picked a fight, perhaps he hadn't thought his actions through. Kaiden raised his tail when he saw the uncertainty in the other dog's eyes, taking advantage of the other's momentary weakness to try and enforce his authority. He hoped the attacks and the police dog's numbers would convince the stray to surrender, but that hope was quickly dashed -- quite literally.
Hesitating for only a second to wonder if this was some sort of trap, the husky followed suit.

Blayze noticed the uncertainty and went to attack again. However the akita was already running off. Seeing Kaiden run off too, she quickly followed. "I'm coming Kaiden!" She hollered running after him and the akita.
