Rei de Morte I think I liked it too, when I was younger. But I find it hard to remember much before I was thirteen. Repressed memories, I think. But now I can't stand it. It's probably the song I like the least. I don't know why. But I've always love Master of the House. Thenardier is probably my favorite singer, aside from Valjean and Javert. in which production is he your favorite? because unless you have a specific person you can't judge them as your favorite singer, maybe he has the best song but isn't necessarily the best singer

Haha, I loved it when I was little, too. I thought it was a fun song, until my father told me it was about, ahem, whores. Da: "It's about protitutes, so you shouldn't sing it in front of your friends, okay?" Me: "Uh.... what's that?" Da: ".... Ask your mother when you're older." Me: eek

My favorite songs when I was little were "Who am I?" and "Do You Hear the People Sing?" Now they're "Do You Hear the People Sing?" and "Drink with Me". My dad has always like "Master of the House". But my mom likes the Fantine character arc, of which "Lovely Ladies" is a part, and one of my friends likes the French version of "Lovely Ladies." So I don't know. I did used to like Mme. Thenardier's part of "Master of the House" because she says "comforter, philosopher and life-long s**t", so it could be because of the fun of getting to tell other elementary school children, "that song is about whores!" quite loudly at the lunch-table without getting in trouble for it.^^

Ya, When I was 11 I was in the school edition of Les Miserables. I played Young Eponine, so everyone else was a lot older then me. It may have been the school edition, but they didn't cut much of the whores and sluts. So everyday when I got home I would be singing and dancing to lovely ladies, pretending to be a whore. At fist my mom thought it was funny, but then she got a little concerned. So I would agree that little kids like lovely ladies...lol...I sure did.

BroadwayBaby_Musicnotes I was REALLY little when I first saw the 10th anniversary tape and didn't understand it at all, and I don't remember what my favorite song was, then I was going to go see it in 2nd grade, and my dad confiscated the video so I wouldn't remember the show when I saw it, and would get a fresh experience. The only song I remembered at the time was 'Who Am I' (my aunt asked me what my favorite song was because she thought I was familiar with the show) so I think that must've been one of my favorites. After I saw it, On My Own was my favorite... poor Ponine... Now I don't have a favorite because I love all the songs so much! ...
...Wouldn't that be kind of like starving someone so that when they do eat it's a 'fresh experience?' I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but that doesn't make any sense to me.

Like some of you, I was raised on Les Mis. I never remember really loving Lovely Ladies. I always loved Look Down. Yeah, I would walk around the house when I was 3 singing "Look Down! Look Down!! Don't look 'em in the eye!" Ah, I always took pride in the fact that I knew who Jean Valjean and Javert were. . .
I can understand why kids would enjoy Lovely Ladies, I just wasn't one of them. ^_^

I think it was along the lines of if you don't remember it now then you're better off seeing it live for your first memory of it, because when he confiscated it I already knew I was going to see it
