"But, I'll never have the same sort of pleasure in swimming as you do. You'll have to describe how that feels. Can you swim deep? Or just fast?" she asked, listening with interest to him talk about the workings of his royal family. She felt a little out of her depth, she'd never met anyone like him, but he was still speaking to her as if he was not a Prince at all, and she was thankful for that.

"So you fight too? And fight well I imagine?" Elisheva felt his life was very grand indeed, and he seemed to have many duties. Did it leave anytime for leisure, or his own wants? That led her to her next question.

"So, pardon me for asking, and don't if I am being too nosey, is there a Princess?" she wondered if that was something he had a choice either.

"I should think it is. I've never heard of noisy fish.." Elisheva stopped, a looked of amusement on her face.

"Are fish chatty? I imagine you would know if they were." she smiled a little and then spoke again.

"The sky is..changeable. There's wind currents, and raucous birds. And if the weather is nasty it's very tricky to fly. But when it's just right..there's not much else like it. And the views are amazing."

She nodded as he spoke and then said;
"Then I'll take your word for it, but I am sure you fight well. And I see." she said, thoughtful.

"No time for your heart either? Is it something you wish for at some point, or have you just not thought about it because of your Princely duties?" she asked and then added;
"My mother wants a good relationship for all her children, she wishes for nothing less than the love and respect she and my father have for each other. Though, she doesn't really push."

"Parrot fish?" she echoed, a smile on her face at that thought.

"Ohh..I mean, I know, I am sure that they don't talk but I really would like to see those. I wonder.." Elisheva wondered how far she herself could actually swim. She knew she could a bit if needed, but purposely going into the water. That was kind of daunting.

"Kalona yes. But they aren't the worse out there by far." she said.
"And of course, not all are the same. Kalona that is."

She gave him a searching look, wondering that someone that was obviously strong and capable could allow himself to be so led, or tethered by what was expected.
"Would you not want to? I mean, have you thought about what you'd do if you met someone that sparked an interest in that way?"

"I'd like that..but only if it's not putting you out or anything. I would hate to interfere with your duties..Your Highness." Elisheva chuckled and then nodded, going serious again for a moment.

"Sadly yes. Skinwalkers, and Purewalkers I belive they are called? They are just..evil. Doesn't seem to be any grey area with them. That is my understanding of them at any rate." she looked at him, wondering what he was thinking when he fell quiet. When he spoke again, one brow raised a little, and her cheeks coloured. Was that specifically aimed at herself? Did he think she was feeling him out for herself? She was relatively sure she hadn't meant it to come across that way, but maybe he had read self interest in her questions.

She was bold enough to reply directly though, despite a momentary discomfited feeling.

"But if she went in with a clear head and a full awareness of your life, and a determination to be by your side because she felt the strongest of affections..I would say that you are owed as much happiness as the next, none Princely stallion, and that obligation should not be a barrier to that."

She fell silent after saying her piece, wondering if she'd said too much. She could be very straight forward when she wanted, but sometimes it could be seen as outspoken.

"I guess. I mean I don't know enough about them, but they certainly are feared on land. If you cannot swim, if you don't have fins, then the deep water would certainly make them unequal to someone like yourself, who is at home amongst the waves."

Elisheva nodded;
"My mother is wonderful." she said, pleased that he thought so but was slightly saddened by what he said about his own mother.

"I'm sorry..I would say you sound like a dutiful enough son already, but it's not my place..really you should do what makes you happy." she gave him a warm smile, having decided by now that not only was he unusual looking, but despite being royalty was easy to talk to, and certainly didn't put on airs. So she found that she liked him, it was hard not to really.

"So..fishgazing eh? Maybe you can put on a little display of your swimming skills as well."

"Well in that case I am certainly glad to have met you whilst you were taking some time for yourself." Elisheva said with a little nod, and then added;
"I have..well, it's been pointed out to me that I tend to make jugments on initial meetings, so I might have formed a not entirely favourable opinion if you were Barinthus the broody." she admitted.

"But I know from our time so far that you have a sense of humour and are easy to talk to, so, if we were to meet again and..well I hope we shall, that if you're of a different mood that it's not really the real Barinthus." she smiled.

"If you're not busy right now then?" she asked, with a twinkle in her eyes at the thought of a mini adventure.

Elisheva smiled warmly at the stallion, she was glad that she had come across him as well, she was fast finding herself thinking of him as a friend, though she wasn't sure if that was reciprocated or if his easy going manners were from being a Prince and being good at representing himself to others.

"Quiet is okay sometimes. Quiet is good when you want time with your own thoughts. Or if you're in a bad mood." she said with a chuckled.

"I took some quiet time after I untangled a fine mess that my older sister's burgeoning relationship got into. I soon wanted company again though, I like making new acquiantances, and getting to know them."

She laughed a little at that.
"Ohh..okay, maybe another day then you can promise me parrot fish. But I'll certainly be interested in any fish..and seeing you swim."

"No? Maybe it's just us females that get grumpy then." Elisheva said, grinning though. She was well aware that too many mares together did sometimes cause frictions, even if they were related..possibly especially when they were related. And she did occasionally butt heads with her older brother in a mild, look to your own business kind of way.

"It was less being caught up in and more unable to bear seeing my sister's heartache.." she sighed and shook her head.

"But it's all sorted now, and I am fairly sure my sister is thinking of little hoofprints already." she said with the smallest of snorts.

"True..and I bet you like the rain as well don't you? Us featherdusters just look bedraggled in the wet." she nodded and followed him, smiling at his movements, his tail and fins still fascinating to her.
