Zooka stood atop a nearby hill looking down on the soldier as he gave his speech. He had taken a job to kill a soldier with blue armor and long black hair, and this was the first he'd seen so he figured it was the one he was looking for. "There you are, Jayssson... you will give me enough cash to lassst me a whole year without work." He saw the man take his steed out into the middle of the battle feild. "Oh? I think not, I will be the one to sssslay you." He let out a slight hissing laugh as he lept to the air in traditional dragoon fashion and grabbed hold of his fire spear rushing down in attack towards the chocobo mounted target. Flames began to glow from the blade as he flew in fast and swift, he let out a battle cry once he neared his target.
"KIIIIIYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!"

Hyato held his longsword in his right hand while holding the reignes to Tsuneamei in his left. When he heard a loud Bangaa warcry come from above him, he bought his longsword up just in time to barely deflect the unsuspected attack. The impact upon the two blades meeting caused Hyato to nearly lose his balance on his chocobo. The young soldier inadvertantly tugged on the reignes and Tsuneamei let out a "Wark!" in surprise. Tsuneamei regained her balance as well and trotted off to put some distance between her beloved master and their Bangaa foe. "Charge!" Hyato yelled as he snaped the reignes for Tsuneamei to rush forward; when he got within striking distance Hyato swung a powerful blow at Zooka.

Zooka spun his spear before him and then snapped in into it's sheath on his back as he roared ducking under the swing in. He turned and leapt into the air just above Hyato and released his fire breath attack upon the knight and his mount.

The young veteran followed Zooka's movements with his eyes and snapped the reignes to his chocobo. Tsuneamei said "Wark wark!" in confirmation to her master's command to run out of the way of the inoming fire attack. After the two trotted away to a safe distance, Hyato dismounted Tsuneamei and said "Don't worry my friend, I'll be fine. Now go." Tsuneamei let out a whimpering "Wark" and reluctantly got away from the battle. Hyato then turned his attention back to the unknown Bangaa who attacked him. The soldier darted off towards Zooka and when got in range to attack, he tried using his Weapon Break skill on the Bangaa.

The battle hardened dragoon leapt into the air at the last minute, perhaps a few seconds too late as he noticed a severe set of cracks in his flame spear. He reached back and swapped it for his double bladed spear as he thought about the situation. hmmm.... he said that the target would be pretty weak in battle, this guy knows his stuff. He landed in a Defense position several yards away. "Jayssson, give yourssself up. Thisss isss one fight you will lossse for sssure. I, Zooka Mir'tuk am here to take the bounty on your head, Jayssssson. Ssssurrender now, and I'll let you live." He eyed Hyato carefully from behind his helm wondering if it was in fact his target.

Hyato took a few steps back and entered a defensive stance of his own. He was displeased at not totally rendering Zooka's flame spear but the cracks inflicted upon the weapon would suffice for now. Hearing the dragoon Bangaa say "Jayssson, give yourssself up. Thisss isss one fight you will lossse for sssure. I, Zooka Mir'tuk am here to take the bounty on your head, Jayssssson. Ssssurrender now, and I'll let you live." caught the young war-hardened soldier off guard. "Jason? Who is this 'Jason' you speak of? If you're refering to me then you are mistaken Zooka Mir'tuk. I am Hyato Krouger, leader of the Blue Dragon unit and son of the legendary General Draven Krouger. I'll only say this once: leave now or you will be slaughtered without mercy." Hyato announced in response.

Zooka let out a small sigh under his helmet, not large enough to be noticable in any way as he re-attatched his spear. "Ay, I am misssstaken. You are not my target." He turned to face Hyato's army. "Thossse are your fleet memberssss? You will need asssissstanccccceeeee with thisss. The great Zooka will aide you for a ssssmall fee, say two thousssand gil?"

"Ha, you're good but not good enough to pay 2000 gil for." Hyato said trying to bluff Zooka into lowing the price. Hyato whistled for Tsuneamei and the yellow chocobo came running back happy to see him alive and well. The young soldier petted the bird and then mounted it. The Blue Dragon leader kept his longsword out. From his experiance, Bangaa's weren't exactly the most honorable among the races in Ivalice.

"The priccceee and the job are non-negotiable, knight. Consssider it an apology for nearly killing you." He reached back and held onto the handle of his double bladed spear and stood awaiting the start of the battle. Zooka was bored and probably wouldn't hold the knight to the money, battles like this were often quick an easy since everyone clustered together he could just use his breath attacks to render most of them helpless and then finish them off with a well placed leaping area attack.

"Nearly killing me?" Hyato repeated in gest. "You've yet to lay a scratch on me. How 'bout this Dragoon, we settle this in a duel: if I win, then you join my unit without question but if you win, then I will pay you 10,000 gil. What say you?" Hyato proposed.

Zooka looked to the approaching enemy army. "Thisss isss neither the time nor the placceee for thisss, knight." He readied himself for battle, adjusting his armor and checking the releases on his two nondamaged spears. "Ready yoursssself."

Hyato saw that his batallion was getting restless but he motioned for them to wait just a little longer. He looked over the horizon to see the enemy army fast approaching. The chocobo let out a "Wark wark." as they came with amazing speed; meanwhile, Hyato flung his cape over his shoulder and out of the way as the breeze blew it forward. He readied himself with his longsword out and a determined look on his face. "Archer squad ready a volley and wait for my signal. Black Mages will light the arrows on fire as they fly into the air. The Priest squadron will focus their attention on curing the wounded and resurrecting the fallen while the Soldiers stay and protect them. The Knights will charge with me after the volley has been launched. LET THE MIGHTY ROAR OF THE BLUE DRAGONS BE HEARD THROUGHOUT IVALICE ON THIS DAY!!!!" Hyato said as he gave his army orders. As the enemy army started coming into better view, Hyato soon realized that their numbers severely outnumbered his little batallion by what seemed to be a 100 to 1 ratio at least if not more. Hyato then turned to face Zooka and said "As for you Zooka, I'll let you do as you please, but if you have any troops with you they would be of great assistance to us."

Zooka's finger was raised in the air aimed at the approaching army bouncing back and forth as if counting. "Troopssss? I'm a bounty hunter, I usually work alone." His finger panned from one side of the approaching abttalion to the other a few times. He then turned and did the same to the Blue Dragon army. "Hate to ssssay it, but we probably won't win thisss battle unlesss sssssomemore people ssshow up... If only we had a few Totema on our sssside..." The last part was muttered under his breath, as he knew not many people knew of the great beings being able to be summoned. They were like gods to the few that knew of their existance, and so considered holy. Talk of using them as weapons could be considered blasphemous enough to instate a charge of execution by some.
