Kutou - Eisei~ The Capital

The warrior smiled, "Just appeared out of no where hmm? I figured as much. Have you ever heard of Seiryuu my Lady?" He looked out the corner of his eye, to see her reaction. Jin had a feeling he'd been guided to her, not by chance, but by fate. That would explain why, for no reason, my mark started to burn. Father has always told me it was my destiny to live and die for the priestess... now... here she is. He couldn't help but smile alittle, that his proclaimed yearly act of kindness was actually brought about by his spiritual duty to the girl from another world.

"Seiryuu," she said, taking in the name and smiling. Of course Tatsuko knew about the blue dragon god, from all of the stories. "The blue dragon... yes, I've heard of him." Secretly, after all of the stories, she did always wish she could be like the girl in them. It was silly, and she never spoke about it, but she thought it would be fun. It would be more interesting that constantly having to study. And, Tatsuko had always had an odd facination with dragons, as did her brother. Which was part of the reason for her name, which translated to "Daughter of the Dragon." Of course, the other part was that her father's name was Ryushi, but she never really counted that entirely.

He smiled, "I'm Jin, but everyone calls me Suboshi." He picked her up easily and placed her on the horse, the climbed up behind her. He slipped his arms around her waist and took the reigns. She could see a blue dragon tattoo on his left arm, since his long sleeve had been pulled up. "You shouldn't strain yourself my Lady, we'll go to my home right now so you can rest. Then I should probably take you to see the Emperor."

Tatsuko nodded, though she was wondering why he would want to take her to go see the Emperor. However, she let it slide for the moment. She figured Suboshi would tell her later on. "Nice to meet you, Suboshi. My name is Tatsuko Yamazaki." Her eyes drifted down to his arm, seeing the tattoo of the blue dragon emblazoned upon it. It looked beautiful, though she did become a bit apprehensive. The only people she knew of that had tattoos were gangsters... but, that was in Japan. She was in Kutou now... wherever that was.

"Nice to meet you Tatsuko," he said quietly and he started down the street. There where vendors and people milling around, but the mood seemed almost somber. It took them about 10 minutes to get into a quieter, nicer area of the city, where the houses were large and walled. He came up to one, halfway up the boulevard, and the guards at the enterance moved to allow him in. He brought the horse to the front of the house and dismounted. He turned around so he could help her down. "Here we are..."

As they went along, Tatsuko looked around, taking in the surroudings. It really did look like she was in Ancient China. I must have a better imagination than I thought... She almost wished this was real, then she could take pictures. Everything was so beautiful. It was only a few minutes until they arrived in front of a house. It was walled in, and even more lovely than everything else that she had seen. She smiled, and let him help her off of the horse. "This is your home? It's gorgeous."

"Yes it's mine, or rather my father's really. We spend half our time in the capital, and half our time in the small village we rule over." He lifted her easily to the ground and held her up so she could gain her feet. "Are you alright?" he asked softly.

Tatsuko nodded, smiling again. "I'm alright. Thank you." She was rather impressed. She had never seen a building that large before. Her house wasn't horribly small, but since it was just her, her father and her brother, they didn't need a place that had more than three rooms. She didn't know what else to say, in truth. What else could she say? Tatsuko was never really good at small talk, but she was going to try. "You rule over a village? Wow."

He raised and eyebrow and chuckled, "Yes, we're a noble family, it's normal for someone of my station." He lead her inside, and servants were running around on errands. He grabbed one and told her to ready a room. She hurried off and Jin escorted Tatsuko into the sitting room. There were large chairs and fluffy pillows all around, surely befitting their status. "Would you like some tea? Something to eat? Or perhaps, do you have any questions for me?"

Tatsuko laughed a little nervously. While she had heard him mention he was from a noble family, she was still a bit shocked by it. She had never really dealt with nobility before. Her father had dealt with executives in his company, but nothing higher. She would occasionally be called to serve tea, since she was the only female in the house.

She walked with Jin, looking around as she did. The outside of the house wasn't the only part that was beautiful. It was all so amazing. I know there is no way I could have imagined all of this... It was slowly starting to dawn on her, even though she didn't want to believe it, that this wasn't a dream. That this was all real. That she had been sucked into a book. Her brother had occasionally joked about such things, but they had never actually happened until now. She sat down on a pillow, and nodded. "Some tea would be nice. But I'm not all that hungry. Thank you though."

Biting her lip yet again, a nervous habit of hers, Tatsuko looked up at Jin. "Hmm... you said this place... is Eisei, in Kutou, right? I know this is going to sound horribly rude, but do you happen to have a map of some sort? This is all so... mind boggling."

He had a girl come in to serve them tea, and he sat in one of the large chairs. "A map? I'm sure we have one, at least of Kutou." The serving girl gave her a cup of tea, and he got up. "I'll be right back," he said softly, he was obviously in thought. He came back a few moments later, with several parchments. "I found one of all the knigdoms, one of Kutou and one of Konan." He sat down on the pillows next to her and spread out one of the large maps. It looked old, even by Ancient China's standards, and was drawn out in ink. "This is an old map, it only shows the Four Kingdoms, before Ounen came into being." He pointed to the East, "This is Kutou."

Tatsuko nodded to the serving girl, and took a small drink of the tea. A small smile came to her face. Atleast the taste of tea hadn't changed. It was still as delicious as ever. Waiting patiently, she took another sip of her tea, letting her mind wander as Jin went to go find the maps. When he came back, she glanced over the maps, seeing where he pointed. "I see... so we're here? Hmmm..." As she looked them over, she paused. So I am in Ancient China... Tatsuko turned her head to look at Jin, and smiled. "You wanted to know where I am from, correct?" She gently trailed her hand over farther east to the edge of the paper and then some. "On a map like this... I would be from... about here," she said, as her hand stopped an inch away from the edge of the map. "Japan is an island over here."

"An island?" he raised his eyebrow, "And do all women on your island dress so strangely? We really should get you some proper attire, nearly your whole leg is visible!" He looked at the strange, green outfit. If they all dress in such a fashion and they are from an island, maybe she isn't the Pirestess of Seiryuu afterall.

Tatsuko looked down slightly, before chuckling a little. She supposed she did look a little strange to him. To her, it was perfectally normal, but if she was in an alternate time, then it would be odd. She put her cup down for a moment as she spoke. "Yes, an island... though I think the time may be a little off as well. And no, not everyone dresses like this. Only those that go to the same school as I do..." That is when she finally remembered. She had been so worried about her own self that she completely forgot about Shinsei, Ayame, Noriko, Midori and Toshiro! "Oh no! My friends!" She stood up quickly, shaking a little. "They must still be out there! I have to find them!"

He blinked and stood, putting his hand out to steady her. "Hold on a minute, sit back down before you fall over Tatsuko. If you've got friends here, there isn't much you can do for them in this state." He looked worried for her... "Please, I'll help you find them, but right now you must relax. You've been through a lot. Sit down and I'll tell you what I think is happening... I need to show you something."
